In WE6, any way to get the youth player's name in English letters? And another thing, how do you gain credits for these to grow?

And another thing, how do you gain credits for these to grow? bertkamp16 24-06-2002, 01:01:AM I was pondering the same two questions, AnaMorph0s|s. I just picked up a CB who I'm giving considerable playing time, considering the people I have to put on the bench in order to play him. AnaMorph0s|s 24-06-2002, 01:29:AM I've picked up a striker, played him in a few games, he's doing very well, scoring and assisting as a pro. This doesn't seem to affect the amount of points you get for growth though, but I figured, if you play him throughout a whole game, you'll get about 50 points, you'll get half the points for just playing him a half. I wonder for how long you can keep on improving these guys ... Phayze 24-06-2002, 01:57:AM There is a limit but i'm yet to find it - the info (when you press select) says the time to improve them does run out, i'm guessing after about 4 or 5 seasons... Renaming them would be good too, just to make it easier to pick out. Anyone know how often they turn up tho? Is it just one per season, or one at a time, i could really do with a youth striker... AnaMorph0s|s 24-06-2002, 02:33:AM 4-5 seasons sounds waay too much. My player is already getting good, and is now leading the assist table, scoring quite frequently as well, and has got 96/96 in speed/accel. But we'll see. ;) Phayze 01-07-2002, 04:05:AM It's 2 seasons. owngoaler 02-07-2002, 08:28:AM Originally posted by Phayze There is a limit but i'm yet to find it - the info (when you press select) says the time to improve them does run out, i'm guessing after about 4 or 5 seasons... They turn up only if you don't have any eligible (growable) growth players and it's pretty much random. If you do not sign him he will disappear in the next week or so, and new ones will come out later anyway. BTW, if you play really good (like win most draw a few and not lose at all), you can develop some super players. Try this trick: play this player in some less important position, regardless of his natural position. START him in every game regardless of his form. Let him last each and every game. For each win he's getting about 50 pts, draw about 25 pts, loss about 10 pts. If you do it for two full seasons (D2+D1 = 70+ games), he will be better than any other player, current or classic... Although be warned that he'll be too good that he affects the balance (or fun) of the game. AnaMorph0s|s 02-07-2002, 06:23:PM Originally posted by Phayze It's 2 seasons. Hmm ... I've had mine since game 10 of this season, I'm in round 29 now, I can't seem to grow him anymore, the "growth" button can no longer be highlighted. But anyone found out about renaming? Phayze 03-07-2002, 06:12:PM Maybe it's random then. I've got a second growth player now, but D2 in extreme has 16 teams (as opposed to D3 which has 8), so if it's done on two seasons, he'll be awesome by the end of that. maybe it's done on a number of games they play?... hchu 05-07-2002, 08:39:AM Um... A stupid question here. How'd you 'em growth players? It says they have different icons indicating them as growth players. But I haven't seen any so far, and I am playing in D2. owngoaler 06-07-2002, 06:05:AM First, I assuming you are playing Winning Eleven 6. Next, look at the last page of players (where there're 3 slots of free transfers). You have to check it every play week to see if there's any player with a "green leaf" before his name. If you already have one growth players you won't be able to see any. If you don't sign him right away he might disappear next week. I'm pretty sure now that it's done on games played - the 2nd growth player i got stopped being able to grow at the end of the 1st season in the 2nd division, after about 28 games. (the first one stopped just before two seasons in div 3 was up, or about 28 games.. :D ). Because of this, i don't think it's really a good idea to waste your time and liability on them, the end result isn't as good as some of the out of contract players you can get for next to nothing, and you have to have a crap player on your team for 28ish games that are hard enough (on extreme here..). |
