I am managing portugal (after the last boss got sacked after the world cup) but I have no idea what players are good and all. See if i coached england, I know who is good and who is not coz i'm managing man u and i see english players week in week out. But portugal is very.... foreign for me. Can anyone give me some tips on coaching a "foreign" nation?

That's kind of the thing of being a national manager. You must scout the players, check top teams of leagues for portuguese players, see their stats, how they play in their teams, their form and so on.
Just like in real life! :)

Go to player search, and select Portuguese and sort them by something like value. That way you will get some sort of picture of who the better players are for you.

Check out the under 21 squad there is always a few good players there who are waiting to break into the first team.
On a club level my whole team consists of players I bought for next to nothing from various U21 teams, all of whom are now worth millions, are absolute quality, win me everything, and you have them for years. Sod searching.

Yeah your right about the U21's but sometimes nations leave out their star players for unexplained reasons. Also, does anyone know why players never seem to retire from international football during the game?
