I`ve read reviews and it sounds like it`s awful. Sounds like it has choppy, stuttering gameplay, does it?

I want to know what game i should buy for the Playstation.

A football game to me must:
*have realistic graphics.
*fully editable teams and players.
*good quality gameplay.
*have the Scottish and English premierships as well as the Scottish National team.
*have league and custom cup competitions.

Can you please advise me on what game would be best for me,

I think FIFA has pretty much everything you're looking for except the gameplay and a few other minor items. The gameplay kinda went down the toilet this year. Of course on the PSX you only get so many edits on teams & players but thankfully you can customize stuff (some kits needed fixing).

I don't think the gameplay is choppy or stuttering, it's just not realistic. It's too fast and frantic and the AI pretty much decides when it wants to score and when it doesn't want you to.

Turning the attacking all the way down in the IGMs helps get realistic scores but it is erratic at times. For example, I played as Palmeiras against Man U. and just squeaked out a 1-0 win in the 89th minute. (I also injured Roy Keane heh heh!) Then I play as Leeds against Parma and get killed 7-2 which is totally rediculous. There are also way too many hat-tricks in this game. You didn't have to mess with anything to get realistic scores in 99 so is very disappointing.

Another thing that sucks is the fact that you can't save your favorite camera setting. So that's one more pre-match thing you have to adjust.

At least if you're in Europe you won't get the terrible American announcers. You should try and rent it first before buying it. You may also want to try Sony's This is Football... I've seen people on here touting this game as a competitor to FIFA, unfortunately it's unavailable here in the U.S.

Gooner you will be sick of me by now, try out This is Football, it meets all of your requirements. Im not sure when it goes on sale in Aussie. I know you guys are getting it because the default game in our part of the world is set to Aussie v NZ.
Try the game before buying but remember one thing, the longer you play the better the game gets. Its got lots of depth in terms of gameplay. I didnt really like it much on first playing but it gets better each game.
