After a 6-month break from playing CM i started playing again. I wanted to get some new experience so I decided to manage some of the middle class teams in Holland. I chose Heerenveen.

I will post some stuff that might be helpful for some of you. Also i will update on how am I doing.

So far I had a Tour of Greece, won 3 times and lost to Olympiakos with my reserve squad. Then i played in the Dutch cup- beat MVV 1-0 and won 6-0 with some crap team.

I bought many players and also sold some. Heerenveen has MANY young (19-22) Dutch players with a lot of potential, and some of them are already worth a lot. So when you start your game u might want to go to Her's squad and take a look.
I highlited the players that you should check out. Below is where I got some of them, and other worth getting players.
It is NOT Sebastian Mendez from Velez. He is way too expensive for a club like Her. This Mendez was a cheap (60K) left defender that performs really well.

My Tactic. I use it for 3 (+) years and it always works for me :) Depending on what league i am in, i use either Long or Mixed passing. Against better teams i set mentality to defensive and Counter Attack.

i was thinking if i shud post it in the Stories forum, but what other ppl post in this forum is usually just a single event. and i was planning on posting about my Heer. game more than once.

That's the point of the stories forum, to post news about on-going CM games, so this thread is a prefect candidate then. :)

No1 goes to the story forum, if you want your story read you've gotta put it here! As long as its CM related I think here is a very good place for it too :D

You tell me which threads should be moved to the Players Forum, and I will move them.

Stories go in the stories forum. Just look at any other CM forum on earth.

And I don't know about anyone else, but I go to any forum that has a yellow check on the right side in the main CM bulletin board, so I see all new posts. People will go there if there are posts, namely a story.

I took a break and went to Mexico for one week.

I came back to the club today and nothing happened. Due to unspecified reaons ( :D) all games were delayed which means i didnt miss any games ;)

Sebastian Batagglia had a few disappointing performances so I decided to look for a new Defensive Midfielder. I didn't have to look far- in a nearby club, Vitesse, Victor Sikora was performing very well. Great attributes, exactly what I wanted for a DM. The only problem- his position is AM/F. But I decided to buy him and hope that after applying NEW POSITION training I will be able to use him as a DM. BUT I needed something for now, and I needed it fast! So I searched again, this time I went abroad, to England. 21 year-old Wayne Bridge from Southampton attracted my attention. Problem- The Price... $2,5 million dollars. I knew that for a player like him it wud be too low. I tried negotiating with Southapmton, but the lowest fee they agreed to was 4.1. I was lucky coz at that time Wayne Bridge was unhappy, he wanted to be a regular starter. After talking to his fellow Englishmen, Paul Robinson and Keith Brown who were delighted at Hereenveen, he agreed to move to Holland. Victor Sikora was unhappy with his manager and he was transfer listed at his own request. And the best part- he had a 1.8 million dollars clause in his contract, so Vitesse had to agree. Sikora didnt ask for much, and he requested a lower contract than his current one at Vitesse.

When I was about to throw a welcoming party for those two players, a Not-Enough-Money alarm was set off. I had to deal with it fast, in case Southampton and Vitesse wudnt agree to delay the transfer more than once. With a bit of a disappointment I transfer listed a very skillfull 24 year old Moroccan midfielder- Adil Ramzi. I didnt have to wait long. PSV was willing to pay the asking price- 10.25 million dollars. I decided to negotiate $ 10.25 + 3.5 for 10 INTL caps. PSV agreed! I also got a JOKE offer from Man City- $3.2 which I rejected without even negotiating, and a $7 from Werder Bremen, which i negotiated to 8 million + 2.6 for 10 caps. 3 days later, Werder have gave up. On the next day after that, PSV bought Ramzi.

I also transfer listed two defenders. They are both older than 31 and wont be too much help for me, so I followed my theory- sell while you can. 31 year old Johan Hasma's asking price- 2.5- attracted Fulham, Newcastle, DC United and Bolton. Newcastle quickly signed him on a 2.3 million fee. I rejected the 700 K offer from DC.

The other player was 32 year old Gerard de Nooijer, who just recently started playing for the National Team Velez, Watford and Samsunspor were interested in spending about 2.5 million $ on him. Watford were first to make an offer- 2.3 on 6 monthly installments. Then Velez offered 2.5 and Samsunspor 2 on 12 monthly installments. I agreed to the first 2 offers. I wasn't surprised when Gerard accepted the offer from Watford.

In the mean time, I had to delay the transfers of Sikora and Bridge. After I asked for a delay for the 2nd time, both were rejected. Now that I had more than enough money in my pocket, I made an offer for those 2 again. Soon, both of them showed up for the morning practice at the Abe Lenstra stadium.

All the stuff I wrote here happened before, now I am going to post up-to-date. After 5 games in the Dutch League, I have 5 wins 16 goals scored, and my defence let in only 3 goals. I have a 1-point lead to Groningen, and a 3 point lead to Feyenoord. Those two teams played 6 games though. 4th team Willem II has also 12 points, and 5 games played. The most interesting games are yet to come. The teams I played so far aren't exactly the top teams in Holland, so lets wait before I get too enthusiastic
