I supposly have cable connection but at the network panel(in control panel) it saids LAN... So what do I have ? Also im suposely always conected at 10Mbps, and download usually at 12kb/s (is that fast??) but in Kazaa I download from 6am to 5pm usually under 1kb/s !! :eek: But at 6pm-5am usually at higher speeds like 14kb/s and 15kb/s.... So what should I do to fix that and try to get higher speeds ??

And also I cant download/or accept files from other users (msn.icq,trillian) I think i cant download them since i got xp,
before I had Windows 95 :p with the same connection i actually had and everything was fine !

Well 12 kb/s a pretty slow download speed... for a cable connection... :confused: I think.... but sometimes that does happen...

I have cable and I am usually getting around 30 - 50 kb/s on Kazaa, sometimes 70... so 14 kb/s or even 12 kb/s is slow for me. Under 1 k/b I wouldn't bother... But it would depend on how many users you are downloading the file off... In Kazaa, if you are downloading off only 1 user the file usually takes longer to download, if you are downloading of multiple users it will be quicker...

I'm not sure about LAN or Local Area Network connections.... someone else will be able to answer that hopefully.

hmmmmm.

first is it your computer . . . or say something from work or school or something.

Second . . . it sounds like u have internet connection sharing . . .

did u setup your comp and is it connected to a network?

My PC is in my house.... And the thing about the kazaa speed it like starts the downloading fast (but just like for 2 sec) sometimes it satrts downloading like at 40 kb/s !
And I configured my conection by myself, I just put my login my password, ip,qtw,mask.

10mb is the speed of the network

its not the speed of your cable

your cable may only be 128k which may explain the fact you get 14kb/s
