Hope you read this, as I have a BIG problem:

Today I bought WinTV USB with the purpose to capture the playstation 2 games.
I can't get it to work. This is what I did:

I inserted a 2X Scart- 3 tulp+ in-out switch between the Scart for the TV and my playstation.
Here is the image of that gadget:
http://hanterp.virtualave.net/scart.JPG

In the middle you see a switch for video IN or video OUT; I switched it on Video OUT.
Above that switch you see the Video-connector.
On the left you see the scart-in connector from the Euro-AV scart and on the right the scart-signal goes to the TV.

I used this piece of hardware to hook up the Win-TV.

The WinTV device itself has one connector to the USB-port, one cable-connector to connect to the cable-antenna and one connector for S-Video-in.
This last one I used to connect with that gadget above.

I am ONLY interested in capture the playstation 2 games, not watching TV, so I didn't connect the antenna-plug into the Win-TV.

Of course I installed the hardware and software, but I don't know how to capture the video-signal from the PS 2...

Please help me out!

I hope to hear soon from any of you...

Regards,

Han Terpstra.

turn on the ps2

then open up the wintv program and start searching for the signal
but change the input to s-video not antenna/cable

then when u find it
just press print screen or use your tv capturing program

u could use an aerial connection aswell, it will work too

I did change that using that hardware above: I wrote I used s-video IN to connect with that piece of hardware.
Also I went into the suite setup and created a s-video channel, kept the channelnumber what it was (200) and clicked OK.

What do you mean by this? Please can you explain that?

One more question: for connecting with a videorecorder the manual mentioned about a shielded video-cable with male RCA connectors on both ends. I used normal tulip-male connectors.... Is that a problem?

I understand from what you wrote that you have it working; how did you do that?

Problem solved :)
That piece of hardware should be switched to video IN, not OUT.
I find that unlogical, as the signal goes out to the WinTV-device IMHO...
Thanks for your help!
