Former Ipswich and currently Arsenal goalkeeper Richard Wright is close to leaving Highbury for Goodison Park. Wright prepares to make a £5million move to Everton, his agent has denied reports that David Moyes only turned to the Arsenal keeper when a move for Derby's Mart Poom collapsed.

Wright is poised to quit Highbury after just one season after seeing Gunners' first-choice number one David Seaman put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension.

Good for him. It's kind of strange after Arsenal bought him from Ipswich, Arsenal still uses David Seaman. Isn't he getting old enough ?

Damn right he is. Im outraged by that decision by wenger, what the hell is he thinking? i just wonder what will happen when seaman breaks his shoulder again,or breaks something else as a result of old age ....oh well we'll just have to return to last season's heroics...another nervous season beckons:D :D :D .

I know he is young, but i don't really rate that Stuart Taylor, i think Arsenal will be in trouble if the do lose Wright and Seaman gets injured

Who will Arsenal's backup keeper be then? Youve already aced Manniger! Plus I think Wright should hang in there for one more season, see what Seaman does and then maybe move on.

Well that last post arrived just before mine did, so I guess that question was answered! Now I look stupid!

This is ridiculous. If Wright Leaves, we are left with just Seaman and Taylor. If Seaman gets injured, who's gonna back up Taylor? Taylor is young and he'll develop in time but I don't think he is just ready yet. (But remember, he held a clean sheet against juventus;) ) If Wright stays, he's got a good chance of being our no.1 in the season after, if not next.

it is stupid indeed... after buying him as seaman replacement and he only stay at highbury for one year... anyway, i think taylor is a good enough replacement for wright...

Well here's some good news for Arsenal fans. According to soccernet, Arsenal are interested in getting Juve's Uruguayan goalie Fabian Carini for a year's loan, with an option to buy him for £7million or somethin like that. I reckon Carini's much better than Wright. He has experience from the World Cup plus he is only 22!

hope he does... he's a good goalie...

and he's going from a great club to THE BEST CLUB (assuming he signs for Everton!)

I always think that Wright make the wrong move by going to Arse-nal. Because he won't always be playing, which is the most important thing for a keeper to improve.

Now, he gets the chance to w-right the wrong.
