Within the next week the world will know who is the European footballer of the year. Only two candidates remain: David Beckham (manchester utd & England) and Rivaldo (Barcelona and Brazil) Both players are in stunning form and in my oppinion both are worthy.

I disagree, Rivaldo is by far the better player. Beckham would have to be playing at his best to be as good as Rivaldo and lets face it, he's not.

I thought it was pretty close going into this summer too close to call really.

Then Beckham gets off to an awful start to the season- can't score,can't cross, can't do anything, while Rivaldo is leading Barca to a great win vs. Fiorentina while half the world is watching.

In my mind Rivaldo deserves it.

This one is too easy, even tho i am a MAN UTD. fan after the game he played over in Italy against Fiorentina. RIVALDO should win this year HANDS DOWN!!! he is truly a great player and i wish one day Rupert Murdoch/Alex Furgesson and whoever bitches are in charge of transfers down there and Manchester WILL stock the team up will WORLD CLASS PLAYERS like rivaldo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
