I might turn out to the the only one who cares, but oh well, then I'll be the only one to post here.

Trade deadline just finished, and in my opinion the Braves and D'Backs will play for the NL Title, and the Yankees and Red Sox will go for the AL Title, but that one is up for debate.

The Cards got Rolen to fill a major hole. He is a huge upgrade over Polanco both defensively and offensively, and should take them another step. The Braves are certainly good, but I don't see them going to the Series. The D'Backs are good enough, and I think they'll win the NL. Those are the only three NL teams in the Pennant race in my opinion.

The AL is far more interesting. The Yankees and Red Sox both made huge deadline deals. Yanks got Weaver, Sox got Floyd, and both should carry them into the playoffs. The way things are going I see the Angels winning the West. They are playing amazingly, and are a real team. Finally, the Twins are a lock for the Central and are filled with guys stuck on farm system contracts. Unfortunately neither can compete with the Sox and Yanks, so they'll duke it out in the ALCS.

My world series prediction is a repeat D'Backs title beating the Sox in 6 upholding the curse of the Bambino.

What do ya'll think. If no one else posts, I'll just keep updating this as the season progresses.

I didn't really watch baseball or other any American sports cept the NBA playoffs, but when I moved to America I started watching the baseball playoffs as well, I still do not watch US football though. I live in Atlanta and I have gone to some Braves games, I think they are going all the way. They have a superb team, and 3 awesome players : Sheffield, C. Jones and A. Jones, some great younger players and sh1t load of great pitchers. D' Backs have only Johnson and Schilling, in a series they wont pitch in all the games, Braves pitching staff can take the D'Backs easily, so they are going to the W. Series along with the Yankees, I say Yankees cause even though Sox and Mariners may challenge them Yanks always come through, I dont see it any other way, but who knows I might be wrong. I have Braves winning the whole thing cause of course thats my team.

In a 7 game series Johnson and Schilling will pitch 4 games. And besides, they have a lot more than just them. Luis Gonzalez is a great player, Counsell is their MVP this season, Williams is a bit old, but was a perennial All Star only a few years ago, same for Grace. And don't forget Womack and Spivey, two great infield youngsters.

Yeah, the Braves are good, and you forgot Furcal who is becoming a great shortstop.

Yeah, the Yanks are good, but the Pitching is really falling apart in my opinion. El Duque is going to the pen, the Rocket is coming back from injury with an AA team, and Weaver has been awful since the trade.

I agree with you on the Gonzalez, Counsel and Grace part, I think they are good as well, the rest I dont know as I dont watch the sport much. Furcal is becoming a really good player, RBI over 300 am I right? True Yanks pitching has been bad, but I think by the time playoffs start they are gonna beat everyone, only teams I see them losing to are Mariners and Red Sox, Yankees seem to play much better in playoffs than regular season? Well atleast last season , I think????

Rafeal Furcal:

Avg - .270
Steals - 17
Homers - 4
Doubles - 21
Triples - 7
RBIs - 33

No one has ever had over 200 RBIs in a season, not even close.

The closes person ever to 200 RBIs was Hack Wilson in 1930 when he had 191 RBI's. :)

A strike date has now been set by the players union for August 30th. God damn, I hate when they pull this ****.

6'6''!??! I don't know if I'll believe that. I mean, there are some 4'9'' players out there. Yeah, it's actually kind of fun to watch. I like seeing the big fat 150 pound 12 year olds, and the 75 pound kids. It's funny. Although the actual quality of the game is pretty decent.

I am very fast finding a love for baseball ... i have been to Oakland v Yankees at YAnkee stadium ... it went to the 16th inning oakland winning 3-2
and then to the skydome in toronto to see yankees v bluejays bluejays won 7-2 i think ... its all good .. good place to go with the lads and have a few (6 50 pints arrggrhhh) but fun none the less.. toronto is cool .. i am a yankees fan purely because a friend of mine got me a jeter shirt so now i am a yankees fan
