i got the wc98 final on tape - Brasil did not want the cup that day.. so France deserved it.
It was good for wold futebol that France won that day.. tho Brasil is untouchable when they play like a team.

Germany and England were deservedly beaten in euro2000 , if anything, Portugal got ripped off.. i think they wud of beaten France.

I agree with Edmundo, I think Portugal deserved to make it to the final. They played fantastic football throughout the tournament while France weren't especially brilliant against Spain, Portugal, or Italy (until the VERY end of the match). Portugal played unbelievably well overall except against Romania and deserved a better fate. It was a real shame to see it all fall apart for Portugal at the end of the France match.

As for Germany and England, they really did deserve what they got. Especially Germany, I think they forgot what sport they were playing during those three miserable games.

How can you say that a team didnt want to win ?Its the world cup for god sakes ,you just dont give the most prestigious trophy in the world just like that .So why the hell did they participate in the world cup in the first place ?Geez ,you lost tp France ,your team was weeker than France ,bottom line .God ,Im really sick and tired of hearing that Brazil didnt play at their best in the finals .As an italian ,we lost to France all because of a goal that could of been prevented if we kept the ball longer ,but do u see me cry and complain .I accept the fact that we lost euro2000 and now euro2000 is long gone just like world cup98 .Its now history .You can complain all u want ,but the fact remains that France are World cup 1998 and Euro2000 champs .The only people who are having the last laugh are the french cause they are the one that are winning everything .

So what your saying, in other words, is that Italy 'didn't want to win' after Wiltord scored - thats what the Brazil fans said about their performance in France 98 and you blasted them for it.

Personally, I think France deserved to win in both instances, if as you said Paolo, that Italy 'gave the trophy away' and didn't try to score or defend then THEY DESERVED TO LOSE! How can you first say Italy deserved to win, and then say in the same paragraph that they didn't want to win in Extra time?

Italy had the game practically won, and when Wiltord scored, their morale went downhill...
It's not they didn't want to win, of course they did, it's that they had the championship in their hands, and let it slip away. When Wiltord scored, it was clear thet the game was as good as over.

Let's stop comparing WC98 and EURO2000, all right? They're two totally different games, and comparing them is just plain silly.
