An x-ray today revealed he has a fractured right ankle. How does this affect Man U now?

He's young & talented player for England. ;)
For Man Utd, this would be a disaster in the Premiership & Europe.

wes brown to miss such a big part of the league - this is disaster for us. and this means the idiotic phil neville will be a regular in the side. we are really weakened on the right side now.no gary neville, no wes brown.
julien escude is a left sided player. so the problem remains. does anyone have any idea when gary neville will be back???

What I meant when I say Man U should buy Escude is so that Silvestre can move to center back, thus giving them a little more versatility

sell him... he has too much injuries throughout his young career.. and i still don't see any good quality defence from him yet...

Bad Luck to Wes, but this jus shows how frail Man Utd are at the back. They should have gotten Cannavaro, he only went for like 18 million pounds, thats at least 10 million less than Rio, and i think Cannavaro is better than rio by a long way. The extra 10 million could have brought in another world class defender.

I suggest maybe play 3 at the back, i know its unEnglish, but it might work, in how they score goals. Like they say the best form on defense is attack. Maybe put Silvestre, Blanc, and Rio when he returns. O'Shea can deputise for Rio. With the extra man, maybe play Nicky Butt or Roy Keane in a Defensive Midfield in front of the back 3. So this enables them to put Scholes (hopefully not Veron) behind the front 2.

I personally don't think Wes Brown is very good yet, although he'll be great in a few years time. Man Utd are desperately short of centre backs though. They need Nesta.

Oh he scored that great 30 yard rocket past Barthez at Anfield the season before last - you know, the one where he didn't have any injuries, Liverpool won 3 trophies and he scored 10 goals in all competitions which wasn't bad for a 19 year old midfielder. He also scored a pretty decent goal against Germany in Munich if I remember correctly and still turned in some great performances last year (sweet goal against Everton, and an amazing 60 yard breakaway pass with the outside of his foot at Highbury) despite being injured a lot.

Anyway, I echo Amika's thoughts - not so much that United should sell Brown, but that he wasn't *that* good to start off with anyway - the past few seasons he has been really poor and if his name started with a Phil and ended with a Neville then everyone would agree. This injury will let O'Shea get a foot in and I think he is a solid young defender who will do well for United.

Roy Carroll is a very good player, if he wasnt at man utd, he would probably be the starting keeper at any other EPL club, except for maybe Liverpool and Arsenal.
