Place your bets.......:lui: John_Arne_Riise 03-01-2004, 11:57:PM Excellent Kop Kid, i started a new Liverpool game with my own tactic, up to November only but i had a 2-0 win over Man Utd at OT and a 6-1 win over Anderlecht in the CL qualifiers. rony31 04-01-2004, 12:12:AM it's finally happened :D D-12 04-01-2004, 12:47:AM Haha thats classic (Y) Shindig 04-01-2004, 04:28:PM Yay! The Old Lady is finally dead. The Kop Kid 04-01-2004, 09:14:PM I could make a disgusting joke about an old lady 'going down' but.......oh. Oops. Shindig 05-01-2004, 12:07:AM Heh. I can't say it didn't cross my mind. Tom 05-01-2004, 12:44:AM you two are sick. lol TROD. The Kop Kid 05-01-2004, 01:44:AM Originally posted by TROD you two are sick. lol TROD. That's what my shrink kept telling me before he went mad and started smoking bananas.....I know, get back on topic. :crazyboy: Tom 05-01-2004, 03:19:AM as if id dare close this thread rony, id be lynced. Right back on topic now. TROD. rony31 07-01-2004, 08:00:AM pretty much how my career at Barnsley's been going :kader: domination = loss :( The Kop Kid 08-01-2004, 10:36:PM Yay! no more 'who's yo daddy threads.:clapwap: It must be a culture shock, the bright lights of cosmopolitan Barnsley after the mining town of milan. :lui: so RRM.tct not working at Barnsley then? The Kop Kid 08-01-2004, 11:18:PM Real who? rony31 09-01-2004, 02:37:AM nice... look at this match I had with Real... CL Semi Finals, my last year with Milan 1st leg: rony31 09-01-2004, 02:38:AM return leg :hump: rony31 09-01-2004, 02:40:AM this is how it's going so far with Barnsley... not too bad considering they're newly promoted from Div. 3  only major signing has been Eder Bau on a free (I had him at Milan as a reserve, and he didnt sign a new contract so he left, now he's back... but as a starter) also GK Mark Tyler from Everton, doing pretty well The Kop Kid 09-01-2004, 02:11:PM Ahh, good old Nikiforenko. Always reliable. I actually don't find beating Real all that hard. Roma are easily the toughest team to beat in the game, then probably Milan in second. What tactics are you using as Barnsley? rony31 10-01-2004, 11:40:PM RRM of course :fluffy: table update: playing Darlington away next :S The Kop Kid 11-01-2004, 02:37:AM Not bad, next stop first division eh? By the way, I nobbled your 'January to December', though it did take me a little longer. 588800. Now I am YOUR king! lol. :D rony31 11-01-2004, 04:39:AM noooo! you took my glory! :( :p and I'm hoping to get to the 1st Division, and I do pretty well against the top teams, so if I go to playoffs I have a chance :) The Kop Kid 16-01-2004, 08:43:PM 'givin' it' to Man United on the 86th minute in the CL final. As good as it gets. :) D-12 16-01-2004, 11:13:PM damn you liam that post could have helped many people ! :f***: :gavin: :bouncy: The Kop Kid 19-01-2004, 10:08:PM Peter Aerts...carrying on the good work began by Robbie Fowler a few years back. :D I can't seem to find a 'reward player' button though. :) The Kop Kid 19-01-2004, 11:34:PM Bloody unlucky 13. I conceeded a goal. A black day for Liverpool Football Club. :crazyboy: rony31 20-01-2004, 05:01:AM unbelievable what 23 games in a row without losing can do :D I didn't even realize I was doing so well :hump: The Kop Kid 20-01-2004, 01:34:PM Congratulations my fellow braggard. Go Barnsley! :D D-12 21-01-2004, 10:28:PM i could see this one comming i guess ,although i played much better than Roma 2 chanches 2 goals arg :kader: D-12 21-01-2004, 10:30:PM nice clearence IMO :D rony31 22-01-2004, 03:56:AM haha, you were in the uefa cup! (H) The Kop Kid 22-01-2004, 09:40:AM Typical bloody Roma though. What year is that? John_Arne_Riise 22-01-2004, 10:43:AM IMO, Roma are probably one of the toughest teams to beat in CM01/02. Always pose problems for me, and they are always up there when it comes down to the last 8 or so in the CL. D-12 22-01-2004, 07:25:PM Originally posted by rony31 haha, you were in the uefa cup! Also, well done for beating the always annoying Bryan Robson TROD. rony31 24-01-2004, 10:22:PM seriously, well done Tom, for posting the same thing 3 times (H) PS: HUGE news, I just bought Tsigalko from Milan for only £4M (he wanted first team football and was transfer listed) :D but, I hope he doesnt end up being a flop like my other former Milan striker Eder Bau... scored only 8 goals in about 40 games with a rating just over 7... gonna sell him as soon as I get the chance Barnsley board hope to fight bravely against relegation this season in Div1... lets see what happens :) Tom 25-01-2004, 06:09:PM Rony i think you're seeing things, and i didnt even edit your post either. lol. Tsigalko is fantastic by the way. lol. just for the record. TROD. Shindig 25-01-2004, 09:47:PM There's a family re-union going on at my Southampton squad. Joe Cole - first came from Man Utd for £12m to stengthen my midfield. Kevin Cole - Quickly followed as he was kicking up a fuss with Chelsea. Under 21 international. Damien Cole - 19 and Arsenal want him. 5 goals after 10 games. Got a hat-trick in pre-season, too. In related news, I bought Wayne Rooney for just under £10m. He's an amazing creative winger. Michael Jack's career is saved. Currently going for my 4th consecutive League Cup. Who says nobody takes it seriously anymore? 7 points clear of the mancs..... niiiiiiiice. Tom 26-01-2004, 01:06:AM carlton cole? Andy? TROD. Shindig 26-01-2004, 02:45:AM Andy Cole should be retired now. I'll have a look for Carlton.... Carlton Cole rocking the conference with Boston Utd. 31 years of age. 100 games. 27 career goals. No Andy Cole so he must be retired. Scott Parker Recently moved to Portsmouth after a career that's taken him to Sheff Wed, Notts Forest, Carlisle and Cardiff. 34 years of age. Neil Mellor At Gateshead!!! Went there in 2007 and has netted 153 goals for the Tynesiders. Worth £14k. James McFadden Still at Motherwell. Consistently good. Hugo Viana Still at Sporting. Looks fairly decent. 2 international caps. Wayne Bridge Hitting new lows. Now at Shrewsbury. Tom 26-01-2004, 03:59:AM Wayne Bridge has gone down hill, hey have a look for Gomez, might be a coach. lol. How old is Rooney? TROD. Breach 27-01-2004, 04:56:PM First season with LFC. Not too shabby, eh? Also beat Roma by the same numbers (They got Lima red carded at 11th minute, though..). Biggest win is against Pompey, 7-1. Breach 27-01-2004, 04:58:PM Oops! Here's the screenshot... Breach 27-01-2004, 05:00:PM He's dropped Owen to the bench... With Heskey terrorizing the defenders all round Europe. With Heskey?? Yup, who would have guessed. Shindig 28-01-2004, 04:46:AM Originally posted by TROD Wayne Bridge has gone down hill, hey have a look for Gomez, might be a coach. lol. How old is Rooney? TROD. Rooney's 30. Ronald Gomez is nowhere to be seen. Picked up Cisse on a free and Treviso really are producing future Italian legends.... so I bought one of them. I'm also attempting to find a first XI full of Coles! Beat Juve in a pre-season game 1-0. Turner got the only goal. Mexes played a blinder. The Kop Kid 28-01-2004, 09:30:AM So I'm not the only one who doesn't have ronald Gomez in his game then? Nice start incidentally Desmond Troy. :) D-12 29-01-2004, 10:58:PM Tested my new tactic , looks alright won 7 drew 1 for 15 against 2 :brow: D-12 29-01-2004, 11:00:PM My new striker , aint a bad player either look @ all those 20 in the important areas :o scored 6 times in 7 games rony31 29-01-2004, 11:59:PM eugh i dont want that tactic Andre :hump: doesnt look very good Shindig 31-01-2004, 04:39:AM http://www.geocities.com/rockafella123uk/solid.JPG Happy memories. If I remember correctly, we got thumped in the second leg. One of the few screenshots I could capture before my PC went nuts. The Kop Kid 07-02-2004, 09:16:AM Glory, Glory Man United my arse. I didn't even have four of my best players fit. The squad was so injury hit that we could only manage 4 subs. Scholes had a shocker. :) John_Arne_Riise 07-02-2004, 05:20:PM Very very impressive Kop Kid......... What minute did the goal come in and could you paste a screenie of the match statistics? The Kop Kid 07-02-2004, 06:48:PM No sorry J.A, that's the only one I have. The goal came around 60 mins though. Shots were about 15 each if I recall correctly. I also knocked out Chelsea and Leicester from the cups this season. Man United finally knocked me out of the FA Cup in the quarters with a goal in the 88th minute, damn ,em. rony31 08-02-2004, 11:12:AM almost halfway through the season rony31 08-02-2004, 11:13:AM Mete (Y) The Kop Kid 08-02-2004, 03:11:PM That can't be the first division, because THIS is the first division. I've been promoted every year from the conference except for my first year in the third division. I'm taking a conference team to the Premiership. :bouncy: :jacko: :) yoyo913 08-02-2004, 10:46:PM :wootman: bastard, oh well he was a reserve..gave him a 2 week fine and he was mad so i put him on transfer for $0, make some more space on team :) Shindig 09-02-2004, 03:02:AM Lua-Lua syndrome. The Kop Kid 12-02-2004, 12:25:AM Thanks Jason. I'm half way through my third season in the Premiership with Dover now. I think that I might actually win it this year. :) Still on the Ajax game? Rony: did you get the second email o.k? rony31 12-02-2004, 02:58:AM yes, I got it, thank you :ewan: and how fast did you get to 2008? The Kop Kid 12-02-2004, 08:43:PM The end of my third season in the Premiership. Dover, champions of England.:bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: We lost in the F.A cup final to Leeds after being 2-1 up on 81 minutes, otherwise it would have been the double. :( The Kop Kid 12-02-2004, 09:26:PM Oops. Fairly impressive huh? John_Arne_Riise 16-05-2004, 08:31:PM Over my 52 years of managing Ajax, Rene Juffing simply has to be the best player ive ever had. Look at his ratings, quite unbeleivable to keep those sort of ratings as such a high level. He has just hit 33 and is still going strong. I will dread the day he retires, which cant be too far away i presume. Tom 16-05-2004, 09:38:PM oh.......my.........god, thats the best ratings ive ever seen. woah... TROD. The Kop Kid 16-05-2004, 11:32:PM I've had higher for strikers such as Nikiforenko and Maxim. I've never seen anything like that in a midfielder though that I can recall. The man is quite simply a god. Dutch, multiple positions, gotta be Bouma hasn't it (?). As for him retiring....well it's 2051 pal. Shouldn't YOU be thinking of retiring. I'll bet even Bobby Robson will be considering it by then. Also, Houllier will be saying that he is NOT in year 43 of his five year plan, because he "joined the club mid season" **:D ** Crap topical joke. John_Arne_Riise 17-05-2004, 03:23:PM Nah im not so sure it is Bouma's regen. He was a forward as well and was positioned on the left for memory. But no, i will never consider retireing, i want to see how far i can take this. Shindig 17-05-2004, 04:33:PM Originally posted by John_Arne_Riise Nah im not so sure it is Bouma's regen. Shindig 21-04-2005, 01:55:PM I'm playing 00/01, actually. :jambo: Shindig 21-11-2005, 02:27:PM http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/5425/comparison7uk.th.jpg (http://img380.imageshack.us/my.php?image=comparison7uk.jpg) Cheers, Roma! Tom 21-11-2005, 09:10:PM he might have started well but you've made a fatal mistake selling Jardel. (H) Shindig 22-11-2005, 01:07:PM If he takes Jardel's scoring record, I'll be more than happy. Jardel's league record is 42. As of the 5th of November, Allback had 16. So, by careful estimation, he's on course for 46. He's also got 5 MoM's, compared with Jardel's record of 13. Average ratings is pretty class. Jardel - 8.60 from 30 appearances. Allback's is 9.22 from 9. My money's on him to eclipse Jardel's 55 if we progress in Europe. We're currently second in our CL group (Rangers, Inter and Dortmund... eek) and are garanteed the third spot, due to Rangers being crap. Jardel could never power us past the second round of the UEFA Cup. That night, Allback outclassed him for Herenveen. This season, Allback has 26 goals in total, after 17 appearances. Jardel has 4 from 11. Juan Veron is outscoring him, this season. On top of all this, Marcus thinks the world of me. And the Portuguese press are giving him the goal machine message. Something Jardel never got for me. Maybe because everybody expected him to score. Shindig 23-11-2005, 06:57:PM 9 Allbäck, Marcus 54 (1) 61 0 0 10 0 0 17 8.42 Better than Mario  Although we lost the title to Benfica, on head-to-heads. Retained the Cup so we've at least got a UEFA Cup spot, if UEFA don't change the coefficients. Mario walked away with the CL with Roma. Allback netted 12 in Europe. Tom 23-11-2005, 07:24:PM well i'll hand my hat to you, im amazed he's kept at that rate... BUT, how well is Jardel doing? Shindig 24-11-2005, 01:21:PM He won the CL with Roma. Netted 21 goals. Anyway, we've got Dani. If we're to do better than last year in the CL, we've got to get through the qualifiers. 2nd Round, Dinamo Tiblisi. After that, Bordeaux. Thanks, UEFA. Everybody's knackered. Shindig 03-02-2006, 10:44:AM http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/1799/comparison7va.jpg It took a while, but Slough's 2nd and 3rd trophies are in the cabinet. Our first European adventure, too. We pipped David O'Leary's Wigan to the title. Tom 04-02-2006, 07:37:PM god damn amazing promotion record that, only on pre-CM4 games :D So who are the best players on the game then in 2010, so we can all reminiss (massive spelling mistake i know) Shindig 04-02-2006, 08:54:PM Well, Milan have Gremio's Bruno. A regen, sadly, but worth £24m. Pretty much the Kaka equivalent. The real Kaka being back in Brazil after a few years with Olympiakos. Joe Cole and Alessandro Nesta are both draining Inter of £100k a week. Neils Oude Kamphuis is a Gallatico after big money moves to PSV (£13.75m), Celtic (£16.25m) and then his move to Madrid (£11.5m). Rio Ferdinand made £40m off 3 transfers. His biggest being a 'Where did they get that much' move to Porto for £20m. He went to Rangers for half that and currently resides in Roma. Recber Rustu has 133 caps to his name. At 37, he's still playing for Fenerbahce. Crespo leads the records for international goals. 77 to his name. Javier Saviola is the world's most expensive player at £43m. He went to Milan in 2005. Eclipsing Pat Vieira's move to Inter (£42m) a year previously. Vieira previously moved to Barcelona for £34m. Joe Cole's move to Inter cost them £38m. As does Carl Cort. Slough records So, our short history. Youngest Player - Ian Adams. Had big plans for this 15 year-old. Turned out he wasn't very good. Now at Scumthorpe. Oddly, his 7 league goals all came for us. Lowest Attendance - 255 against Cambridge in the Vans Trophy. The only competition I never give a toss about. Biggest Win - 6-0 against Stafford Rangers (Conference) Biggest Loss - 1-5 against Southend (Third Division) Highest Scoring Game - 5-3 against Colchester (Third Division) Oldest Player - Kevin McPherson at 38. Sadly, he retired before I took over. Biggest Buy - Steffan Bjarnarsson (£1.5m) Biggest Sale - Razak Pimpong (£675k) Dunwell has the scoring records. Before him it was Stuart John Dawe. He racked up 94 goals for us, during the Conference and Third Division years. A legend but has recently retired. Chris Beardsley was tipped to be his permanent successor, but he proved to be crap. He now plays with Fleetwood. Jon Pickess is also a living legend in the squad. He's the record appearancer-er-er. Quite a solid career for the 30 year-old. http://img457.imageshack.us/img457/4267/bartolucci3ql.jpg Sunderland have a dynasty going on, but Newcastle had Ronaldinho. (oops, missed a season out on Pickess' history) Tom 04-02-2006, 08:58:PM loving the biggest loss (H) Is it me or did everyone sign Ifill and Woodgate :D Looks like Jon was born in Sheffield :p Zlatan 04-02-2006, 09:12:PM Haha, Niels Oude Kamphuis (H) ... Shindig 04-02-2006, 09:13:PM Took Celtic until last season to pry Woody from Leeds. Found that surprising. Ifill went to Leeds and then to Arsenal. I'm also managing the USA and my first World Cup finished in the Quarter Finals. Not bad, considering we overcame the French in the last 16. Vieira was dismissed for two yellows. Bruno Cheyrou scoring for the French. Donovan spared our blushes against the Welsh, in the group stages. Andy Pugh came off the bench (One of Slough's internationals) but done very little. Pugh's another surprise package. He's the bloke at Braintree at the start. Never bothered to sign him but this time I decided to go for him. Cost me nothing and performs well. Angry, though. Record disciplinary record with 15 yellows and one red (2008/9). That was good year for us. Yep, we still hold the First Division record for poor discipline. 52 yellows / 7 reds :hump: FA Fines, touchline bans, etc... All the fun of the fair. I've also seen Uriah Rennie outdo himself. 4 reds in a match against Birmingham. 3 for them, one for us. Tom 05-02-2006, 12:57:AM loving the disciplinary record. Landon is ace on pre-CM4 games, really a very good player. To be fair that really is nothing for Uriah, did you know he has a black belt in Karate? Shindig 05-02-2006, 08:20:AM Yes. Yes I did. Funny how, when you hit the top flight, your youngsters actually turn good. Tom 05-02-2006, 01:06:PM how you mean? Shindig 05-02-2006, 01:54:PM Most of the youth products in my previous years were all awful. I've looked back at some of them and found a couple to be quite good. I'm actually playing the youngsters, this season. Kevin Nicholls - D/DM(L) Appeared a season or two back. First of the good youth products. Currently on loan to Wimbledon (Managed by Chris Perry - Slough FA Cup winner) Stuart Grant - SW/D/DM(R/C) When he first arrived I thought little of him. Now 21, he's showing to be a decent player. Nigel Morris - D(C) - Another player I didn't think much of. At 21 he looks good. Could be a slow burner. Sam Elliott - D/DM(L) Better than Nicholls. Arrived this season. Currently doing okay in my awful reserves. I'd have never expected products like these during my early days. I always ended up with awful midfielders. And I never heard anything positive from the assistant. This club loses a lot of money, Michael wanted a new challenge and, after a bit of haggling, £6m crossed palms. Making him our record goalscorer and our record sale. Couldn't have come at a worse time, really. 6 out of 6 in the new season. 9 of our 13 strikes coming from Dunners. Played 330, Scored 272. Top goalscorer in a single season (57), Most league goals in single season (48), 179 league goals for the club (179), Most MoM's (18), Average Rating (8.15 - 34 apps).
