He is just incredible ,he stoped 4 penalties today .WOw ,thats it we have a winner .BTW<SCREW HOLLAND WHO TOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO WIN IT EASILY IN 90 minutes despite Zambrotta's red card and missed penalties .I told u holland is overrated .I didnt hear Kluivert's name very often and even when he had the ball ,he would lose it very quick or shoot from long distance .

Before this game, I would have said it was Recber Rustu, he had some amazing saves but Toldo really is a great keeper. If Buffon wasn't injured, Italy wouldn't be through to the final like they are now!

Here I have to agree with you. Many times you see mediocre keepers shine in penalty shootouts (like Taffarel) and great outfield keepers look horrible in the shoot out (well, like Van der Sar..)

But Toldo's overall performance has been absolutely magnificent, whether dealing with shots, crosses or penalties. Perhaps Buffon's injury was a blessing in disguise for the Azurri.

I have always thought Toldo should be Italy's number 1. He sure better be after this tournament, cuz he has been great.

To get you a little out of cloud 9: he 'only' stopped 3 of the 5 missed penalties, the others were against the post and over the bar.

Who cares he still stopped most of them .

But Buffon is an excellent goalkeeper too and I think if he is at Euro 2000 he play like Toldo...
