From Soccerage
AC Milan have stamped their name as the foremost contender for domestic and European success by signing perhaps the best defender in the world: Alessandro Nesta.
The club's official pages have just released a statement saying that Nesta is a Milan player and has signed a contract till 2007.
and the Official site
It's official. Italian International defender Alessandro Nesta has signed with Milan a five-years contract which will expire on June 2007.
I dunno what to believe. I've seen this all before, first with Cannavaro, then with Nesta and then Stam; and now Nesta again??? Does anyone know if this is for real?

Nesta kicks arse! I always thought AC Milan's weakness was the back row and he'll sort that out.

I hope not cause if It is i'll personally have to go buy a plane ticket to Rome and kill Craganotti myself , to people that don't know what this means for Lazio, well it's like Raul leaving Madrid but different cause Raul was an Atletico supporter when he was a kid Nesta was always Lazio and Nesta was our captain. But goodbye:(. Except if something breaks down at the 11th hr:D.

Nesta to decide his future says Lazio Posted August 31, 2002 - 10:50 by Mattias
Lazio have now announced that Lazio and Milan have reached a preliminary agreement, but that it now is up to the player to decide if he wants to accept the move.
This should all make me sleep better. Knowing that nesta might stay.

Reports here in holland suggest that Nesta really has left the building, lazio's building in this case. It's said that he has signed a 5 year deal.

www.soccernet.com has an article that sounds like the deal is confirmed and final
It also reads more like a basketball trade then a football deal
Ronaldo to Real for 20M in cash and Morientes + one other player
Morientes then sold to barca for 20M
Inter to get Crespo of Lazio for a similar amount.

Have Lazio signed anyone this year?
Cos I believe they've lost Nesta, Crespo and Kovacic so they are in deep sh*t if not.

Lazio isn't allowed to sign players in their state of finances right now, ChelseaFan88.

Wow, in that case I can't see them qualifying for Europe, let alone winning Serie A. First Fiorentina, then Lazio. The "BIG 7" is thinning.
