MisterX_K 07-09-2002, 08:15:PM my opinion is that players like Michael Finley, Paul Pierce, Reggie Miller and Shawn Marion are definitly the best players of the tourney (except Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol and Peja) so i really dont understand that they lost against the yugos and even worse against the gauchos too. i hope next time team USA comes up with players like Shaq, Kobe, KG and Vince Carter to bust all the other teams then cuz i think the NBA players are still by FAR the best players in the world! All the players were cocky, George Karl ran no plays. All Team USA did was fast break and isolation one on ones. Next time they should train longer together instead of assembling the team two weeks before the tourney. They were the best players from the NBA, and the best players in the world. Any other player from any other country, back then wouldnt have made the US team, so their country had no chance of beating them. Back then the full Australian basketball team was decent (with Longley, Gaze, and Heal all together!), and i remember we lead them for a half, but ended up being smashed, once USA started playing basketball, rather than just playing with us! But yeah, its a pity its come to this, really is there no pride in playing for ur country? I thought americans were patriotical! It would be great to see them have a full strength team again some day! I remember the Dream Team 2 I think it was, with Hakeem, Penny Hardaway, John Stockton, Pippen, Hill, Shaq, Robinson, Kemp, Malone, Miller, Sprewell, Payton etc...All when they were at their best... What did ever happen to Penny? he used to be my favourite player, but now u say Hardaway, and everyone thinks straight to Tim! Go Anfernee I say...can anyone tell me what happened to him?
