View Full Version : Buy Fussball Manager 2003!
2nd gen 06-09-2002, 05:45:PM If you can read only a little bit German, You really should buy Fussball Manager 2003!
Total Club manager 2003, (or whaterver it's called) is nothing more but a beta-version for the German game! This is because the English version is also made by the German EA-team, but the English version had to be released too soon. The 'real' Fm2003 is still in testing phase, and will include a newspaper, a trophy-roon, an extended carreer-mode etc. And last but not least: No (or less) bugs!!! I'm absolutely sure the English version will be full of bugs.
flamehawk 06-09-2002, 05:51:PM What do you mean by extended carreer mode? cuz in TCM thereis no season limits you cna go on forever.
Aslar 06-09-2002, 06:47:PM I agree with you, if there was a way to convert all german text into english, I would buy that.
EA is nothing more than hype. The new game graphics are great, but I hate the fact that it is FIFA 2002. Plus no rendered stadiums like they had in the last game. That is B---sh--. OK, I know that one of the EA techs stated that they will do something for the stadium issue and we should just wait........BUT THE GAME IS ALREADY FINISHED!!! So we will prob have to buy a stadium CD......boy that would be funny!!! Anyway, I have been looking for other management games with a 3Dmode, can anyone suggest other than TCM2003.

Well, I suggest Anstoss 4, but it is also just available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. :D This game (release is in November) will be the non-plus ultra. The graphics shall be compareable to the one of FIFA 2002, there are 150 countries playable, new leagues can be added per editor, look at www.anstoss4.com for more information. (Give me some texts and I'll translate them for you :))

Try www.amazon.de
But I dunno if they send it to Sweden. If you want I can give you a coupon number, which makes the game 5 cheaper (I also dunno if that works with foreign countries).
If nothing of that works, I could buy it and send it to you (of course not for free ;))
Aslar 09-09-2002, 11:28:PM with all this talk of other games, is this to say that TCM2003 is not all its "cracked" up to be??
The Hun 10-09-2002, 02:08:PM I dont know Aslar...but having the demo in mind...and the fact that it was only a month between the demo and before TCM 2003 went "gold". Can they really do big changes????
Ofcourse they are promesing a lot of patches and updates, My experiances of the FM 2002 (Fussballmanager 2002 ) is that there were constant updates and patches...so I probably will by it.
Antman, thanks alot dude, I will get back at you on this forum about Anstoss 4...I will write "To Antman" as thread so please look out for it.
So long all my fellow manager freaks.

The names aren't the reals one (in the German leagues, I don't know if they are in the other leagues), but the Ascaron-Crew will release the editor in the next weeks and Anstoss has a huge community in Germany. When the game will be released, the first userfiles should be available.
Do you need 5 coupon for amazon? It just works till the 15th September
The Hun 11-09-2002, 12:44:AM Antman !

These are the 3 biggest Anstoss-fanpages in the net. Their userfiles are objective, complete, well organized (several people edit several leagues) and normally without mistakes.
My favourite team is the Chemnitzer FC (3rd league in Germany), formerly known as FC Karl-Marx-Stadt, but I also like Manchester United and Deportivo La Coruna (it was horrible to see them play against each other last year :D)
The Hun 11-09-2002, 11:30:AM Hi! Antman Isnīt Chemnitzer FC the club where Ballack used to play in before he became famous? Anyhow I have now decided to order Anstoss 4 when it comes out, I wonder Is it worth it to order Anstoss 3 or should I just wait for the realease of the 4.....and what is the difference between Anstoss 3 and Anstoss Action.
Thanks
2nd gen 11-09-2002, 05:21:PM Wow! Anstoss 4 looks really great! It brings back the old Ulimate Soccer Manager memories....sigh :-)
I'm definately going to buy this game, and of course fussball manager 2003 as well.

Yes, that was Ballack's first club until he went to Kaiserslautern and later to Leverkusen. But also Ingo Hertzsch (now Hamburger SV and in the national squad of Germany) started playing in Chemnitz. Those two were the greateat talents of our club.
Anstoss 3 is in my opinion still the best manager game, but the 3d-scenes don't say much about the players skills and special tactics. The version 1.0 is very buggy, but there is a patch available that resolves almost every problem. There is one disadvantage about A3: You don't have many playable leagues. There are Germany, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, France and Italy but you can only choose 5 or 6 countries at the beginning of the game.
Anstoss Action, released in 2001, is an action-football game like FIFA. The animations and graphics are worse than in FIFA, but it is still a good game. You can use the userfile of Anstoss 3, you can import your own team of Anstoss 3, but the best: You are able to manage your team in Anstoss 3 with training, finances and so on and play the matches of your team by yourself.
Anstoss 3 and Anstoss Action can be purchased in a bundle. I don't know the prize.
So it depends on you: Anstoß 3 is absolutely great, but I'm quite shure that it will be replaced in my hard-drive by Anstoss 4.
The Hun 11-09-2002, 09:10:PM Thankīs alot Antman for the vast information you have given me about The Anstoss series, Iīm quiet sure that I will buy Anstoss 4...after all itīs just 65 days left before it will be realesed. Do you think that the user files that was created for Anstoss 3 can be used in Anstoss 4?
Thank you for everything and take care.

I don't thonk so, because the skills system is completely different to A3 and there will be more leagues included.
Albob 23-09-2002, 09:53:PM I agree with the comments about Anstoss 3. As a fan of sports management games in general, my opinion is that Anstoss 3 is one of the greatest sports games ever made. And with Anstoss 4 only 50 something days away, I can hardly contain myself. And this is despite the fact that I have only been studying German for a few months. In fact, I'm learning it because of the great games coming out of Germany, Anstoss in particular.
It continually astonishes me that in the great CM vs everyone else debates, Anstoss is almost never mentioned. Personally, I find the EA football management games more rewarding than CM, most likely because I'm too conditioned to eye candy. But I have ordered TCM and hope it to be more like Anstoss than EA's previous efforts, which as I say, I enjoyed anyway. Anstoss is related to TCM, in a way, as some of the designers worked on Anstoss 2.
If you're an American, good luck getting Anstoss. The company couldn't figure out how to get me one so I had one of my student's mothers- who is an airline hostess- pick one up when she was in Frankfurt a couple months ago.
Anyway, this may be the golden age of Football management games no matter what you end up concentrating on. With TCM, Anstoss 4, CM 4, and who knows what else coming, there is reason to be happy. I just wish someone would come up with some management titles for American football and baseball equivalent to these great games.
Just my opinion.
