View Full Version : I have a bad news :(
CANADIAN.10 10-09-2002, 09:26:AM Remember the video Roma-Juve. Well I wondered about it if it was from the Alpha version or the final game and I emailed http://www.multiplayer.it/ and they repleyed back and this is what they said.
'The movie is from the game version showed ad ECTS 1 week ago.'
I don't know if it is from the final version but according to them it was from the game that means it is from the final version. My guess is the game is already completed and ready tobull **** to people so they can sell their ****ty product again. If thats the real game than forget it, it will suck bad again   :kader:
What the final product will be like remains to be seen.. the rest imo is just plain speculation ;)
But then again looking at the video not much appears to have changed.. guess time will tell but it aint looking to good http://www.plauder-smilies.de/sad/nervous.gif
look theres a month and a half before the game comes out, and they have more versions of the game than people making it in its final production.
So calm down.

Hopefully your right, I want it improoved more than anyone here. But the last month IMO they will use it for packing and advertising. They have a month and half to release it not to program it or improove it. Think about it.
ohhh ohhhh EA can't make a soccer game thats all:-puke:

the release dates aren't set in stone, they can change them.

The release dates are rumors here in the forum I guess.
I can wait till the year 2003, I just want them to improove it.
1 month is not very long
and i suspect you can't expect them to improve massively in one-month right?
Besides they won't be stupid showing a lousy/ half-completed game at a game demo. Common sense will tell you the game is already fully done, and that's the time where they start to market
so even if u're expecting changes, don't expect too much of EA.
that's the point, the higher the expectations, the more disappointed you'll be.
the_man 10-09-2002, 10:24:AM In development time, 1 month is like an hour. You don't want to make any drastic changes in the last minute. Or risk breaking the code. IMO the game is finished in terms of gameplay. They'd be finishing kits and rosters now. Infact the finishing touches of kits and rosters.

yup, and the latest tranfers. :)
Nikolas 10-09-2002, 11:42:AM i quess u r right gyes but let's wait..maybe theres an explanation for the stupid Al(No shoots,no tacklins no lobs)...it can't be the final game...And in some previews from guys that they played the game at ects..the said that was an early version...
  it can't be so stupid.
ChRIsA 10-09-2002, 11:47:AM I think they still have time to improve the game. That video was recorded at the start of september, 2 months before release of the game, so they still have a least 1 month of development, although it will only be finishing touches and testing.
Even if this is the final version its still the best Fifa ever.

Well I liked that video, the pass-way is pretty good and they also improved the running-way in the players I don't see any shoot so I can talk about that, but I'll SURE have this game, also because I'd like to edit those excellent jerseys!!!
They seem perfect, or almost...
Those textures are great....
and MAYBE they're in movement, I mean like in the real life, the textures'd change there shadows and shades when the players are moving.
This will be better than FIFA 2002 and WC but not perfect... we have to take it easy...
See ya!:D
Laziomania 10-09-2002, 11:55:AM Yeah, in the movie, the patch is too small!!
Cafu can reach the opposite baseline in a few step!!
But, the graphic is great!!

read the faq's
Goldfish 10-09-2002, 01:34:PM Anyway, they say that it isn't the AI that's stupid, but the two young boys who were playing while the vid was shot. 6 years old!!! That should explain it, IF it's true.
He sad that he played pre-alpha (early) version of FIFA Football 2002 on Sony Play Station 2,he said :
"It is like real football, different of FIFA 2002 and WC 2002,it feel like real football, game is perfect"
Xrenity 10-09-2002, 02:46:PM In an other thread they say two kids from 6 where playing. And they did'nt know what the controls where, so
valioso 10-09-2002, 03:17:PM everywhere I read was that the version shown at ects was an early alpha, all the interviews posted here said that, that the AI of the game wasnt finished, from what I read in one gaming site it said it was at 65% complete for the AI, just because the show it in september doesnt mean the created the build they showed the day before the ects show.
On a second comment I dont believe that it was 2 6 years old, because the video doesnt have any indicator of who carries the ball and who the guy in defense is controlling.

Before I get started... EA football games are horrible. Thats if you have played the likes of PES/WE. If not, FIFA could be the best game out there....
To the point, people come here with the hope, no matter how small that maybe, that someday EA will make a good footie. [Even accomplishng 50% of what KCET has done would drastically improve the game]
In the end, it would give us gamers a more variety of good football games to play. Not JUST PES/WE.
As i said, ur not made to come here. I have nothing against u being here, the more ppl at the forums the better, but if u really have that little faith in EA, perhaps ur time would be best spent playing either PES or WE (which u mentioned in ur post-if these games are so great, why arent they enough by themselves?), OR visiting forums for some other companies planning to release soccer games..
Look i have nothing against u, i just like the way how ppl come here, and complain about how bad FIFA games are. Its like ppl that bought the FIFA 2002 game last year, and complain about how bad it is, at its forums. If its so bad, why are they visiting its forums in the first place. I usually only visit forums for games I like...but that could just be me...

Unless you are possessed of inside information to the contrary, I disagree. Having worked in this industry, it is HIGHLY likely that FIFA 2003 went "gold" a while ago. Now whether or not the Roma Juve video was EA showing off its final product or not is a different question (i.e., maybe they "show" a beta version such that the final version, already completed but NOT being shown, looks that much better), but believe me, if they've announced a date, they were totally and completely finished with the game two weeks to a month prior to that. There's an OUTSIDE chance that they were waiting on any Ronaldo announcement before going gold, but even something like that will NEVER hinder production deadlines.

Yeah Paul, chances are if its being released in a month and a half, that the programming phase of things is over. At the very least the game would be in its very late beta stages (where the gameplay etc is finished, but they are just looking to iron out any remaining bugs). Remember Im only going by an educated guess, but I cant see that they would still be programming much at the moment. However this doesnt mean anything about the version that was seen/played.
Thats all
Cheers

valioso 11-09-2002, 06:05:PM there are 2 months until release, if the game was gold the demo would be out, EA spokesmen have said they still needed to tweak the AI and it was only 65% completed, tweaking is not writing much code just changing a few things here and there, like someone said the game goes gold 2 weeks to a month before its released which gives them one more month of development. Either way, a bad quality movie doesnt really show much, I will still wait for the demo since thats the only way to get any conclusions for the game.

Well said ;)
I am hoping for FIFA to become a real soccer game for my PC.
