good results in exams i could understand but for footy.

Guess it explains my you average yank uni graduate isn't considered quite so intelligent as a british one.
We get on brains,with america a fair proportion get in for money (assius probably) or for sports.

I can spell now i R a Ivy league student...

In USA yes soccer players get scholarships to go to college, for a major school their whole team is most likely made up of scholarship playersm was that your question? And no I did not get one, but it is definitely possible and you don't have to be Maradona either.

Not necessarily, for ex. I think the coach from St. Johns in New York recruits some of his players from youth teams in the area. There is a school in New York(Washington HS?) where high percentage of players get at least partial scholarships. I suggest you talk to your coach(assuming you play organized ball) about your chances...
