Juve. Defence was great last year, and we brought in Fresi, to add another wise head at the back. Trezeguet out for 5 months, so there still is Di Vaio, Del Piero and Salas, but neither are out and out strikers. They basically set up lots of goals, yes they will score through their creativity. Midfield was tight last year and Camoranesi, Baiocco and Olivera will be additions, and may even break the first team. Nedved = big role. The problem is Davids. Will he play good for once, unlikely, especially in the current turmoil.
We can make a real go for the title, with some new talent.

How side should be:
Montero Iuliano Tudor Thuram

Nedved Davids/Baiocco Zambrotta/Camoranesi
Del Piero
Salas/Di Vaio Trezeguet.

What about your team?

DiVaio is an out and out striker. He isn't a poacher like Inzaghi. He can create goals as well as finish off tap-ins.

And remember - Juve were top scorers in the league WITHOUT Salas. So till Trez is back Del Piero , Salas and Di Vaio would be more than enough. Juve didn't pay 30 Mil for Di Vaio for nothing ;)

The defense needs no introduction.Montero , Tudor , Iuliano , Thuram , Pesotto, Zenoni and don't forget Moretti.

Midfield - this was the only area of concern for Juve. But i think most of the troubles have been solved with the arrival of Mauro German Camoranesi and Davide Baiocco . Sure they aren't huge names like Vieira or Zidane but they soon will be ;) . Couple that with Nedved , Tacchinardi , Conte and Zambrotta and we have a great yet underrated midfield. Nedved is the KEY. One of the greatest acquisitions by Juve in recent history.

I do NOT want to see Davids on the field during a crucial game
 They should just use him like a spare tire for the Coppa Italia and other pesky competitions that have little consequence.

Buffon in goal - couldn't ask for anything better (hes just 24 !). And with Chimenti as the replacement theres no worry in that department.

All in all - A very solid group. And its good to see just a few new faces. The sign of the trust the players and managers have in each other.

My starting 11 - ( Till Trezeguet gets back)

Del Piero ----------------- Salas / Di Vaio

Zambrotta------Camroneisi-----Baioccio/Conte-----Nedved

Montero-------Tudor------Iuliano/Fresi------Thuram/Moretti.

Buffon

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And for once its nice to see that the Champions League is Juve's primary concern this season.

AC Milan has the best team on paper; Sheva, Inzaghi, Rivaldo, Rui Costa, Seedorf, Maldini, Nesta etc. If a good balance of attack and defence can be found, then Milan will be unstoppable this season unless last year's injury plauge follows us into 2003.

In defense, Maldini and Nesta need no introduction. We've also got plenty of very good (but not quite world class) players such as Kaladze, Simic, Laursen, Helveg, Roque Jr and Costacurta.

We have heaps of attacking midfielders: Rivaldo, Rui Costa, Seedorf, Tomasson and Pirlo. We have some good wingers in Gattuso and Serginho. And we have in defensive midfield Ambrossini, who is the future, and Redondo, one of the greatest DM's when we got him in 2000, but is yet to play a game though injury. The midfield is the key. If a good combination of attack and defense is made here, we're gonna easily win.

Up front, we got Inzaghi (who's scoring heaps recently) and Shevchenko (one of the world's best attackers, presently injured). We also have good backups in Tomasson (who had a great world cup) and Borriello (trust me, he's going to be big).

----Shevchenko--Inzaghi----
------------Rivaldo-------------
Seedorf-Rui Costa-Gattuso
----------Ambrosini------------
---Kaladze-Maldini-Nesta---
------------Abbiatti------------

in 1st or 2nd place we will go far in CL
when i saw the game against modena i saw a great inzaghi
and a good defence (i just hope maldini won't scr*w stuff for us this season)

That was when he didn't have a club. But now he's resigned with Milan :D
