View Full Version : AFL Live 2003
zul-aid 17-09-2002, 11:12:AM I have been to the website and KaZaA and im looking for a demo of the game it was released on the 12th September, i still cannot find anything not even a Warez version heres the website about the game:
http://www.acclaimau.com/afl2003/index.html
(If people not from Australia wondering this is Aussie rules football) Also if you look at the screenshots the score always says Brisbane vs Essendon but really the players are Port Adelaide and Fremantle
hermolt 17-09-2002, 04:28:PM I'm so pumped for this its unimaginable.
My local Myer says they'll have it on Friday, so I'll be there bright and early to savour a day of AFL goodness..:D
BTW no Warez talk allowed..;)
zul-aid 17-09-2002, 04:45:PM yeah I know about Warez but i wanna test the game before buying to see what its like (you know what i mean :P) also its already released Electronic Boutique already have it in stock for $70 dollars and I saw it in Myer in Brisbane made in Victoria so it should be realistic but unfortunately Carey still plays for North Melbourne since they made it before the start of the season
hermolt 18-09-2002, 05:17:AM Yeh I meant the Xbox version..
it should be an ok game, hope theres an editor and stuff as well :)
zul-aid 19-09-2002, 01:31:PM I dont think there is (dont quote me) but I do think they have most if not all the stadiums which is kewl, definately better than EAs other versions of AFL
lets hope its good, or i will be a tad disappointed :(
zul-aid 19-09-2002, 02:11:PM Ill tell you on Monday when i get the game, i believe it will be the best AFL game ever made, whether it be a good game or not is a different question
there hasn't been too many afl games . . sigh :o
jbaseley 20-09-2002, 07:34:AM What are some of the special features or bonuses?
zul-aid 23-09-2002, 06:11:PM I GOT THE GAME TODAY!!!!!!!
I just finished Essendon vs Richmond since my NRL team is the tigers I choose Richmond in the finals problem was their was no crowd, yeah their were flags and stuff but no crowd even though on the box there is (maybe this is just a glich in the finals or in my quick installation) another problem I noticed when I played 2 min quick quarters was that when I played Richmond as 8th I some how won to games and the flag thats right the first final and then the Grand Final even the team coming first has to play a minimum of 3 games.
The game is very similar to the last AFL game EA sports AFL '99 (same gameplay) i think it was except there is more of a behind the player type camera when you take a mark close to a goal
the stadiums are: Docklands, The Gabba, MCG, SCG, Wakka, Adelaide Oval and thats it 6 stadiums
NO PLAYER EDITOR which was a bit disapointing (will i couldnt find it) I also got UEFA Champions League (disapointing little game)and Cricket 2002 so I didnt play that much AFL, the crowd is very loud something you might expect from FIFA-FX or something
the team comeout with the big flag infront of them they run through the flag and onto the pitch
Commentry by Steve Quartermain and Gary Lyon.
If I were to give this a rating i give it 8 out of 10. Definately an improvement on other older titles, but still the same game differently packaged different start to each game and different commentry and stadiums, but Ill still enjoy it.....

sounds reasonably not good.
bit disappointed.
The Drovers Dog 01-10-2002, 01:15:PM I got the Pc version yesterday, and am very impressed with it -- This one is a stages ahead of the previous EA version, the stadiums are excellent but have been mentioned in an earlier post, so there is no need to go into that bit -- The several Camera views are ace, with the option to zoom in, far or normal in each view-- There is allso an option to engage an AI free
Camera mode, that will cut in during the progress of the game, which is great and helps to give the match a TV atmosphere\presentation -- There are 3 or 4 different control configs to select from. -- The player motion captures are on a par, if not slightly better than Konamis Pes on the Ps2, due to the game being done in Renderware --
The game runs like a well tuned Rolls Royce and is a pleasure to play -- Akklaim have done a great job with this effort, by giving realism to the game and cutting out any of the none required bull**** that seems to plague the other sports games -- And at $70 Aussie it is a steal --
If EA can come up with the same fluid and realistic player and ball physics that this game contains they will definitely be on a winner with Fifa 2003 -- BUT !!!!! ;)
maddog1983 04-10-2002, 02:06:AM i didnt even know their was an afl game coming out as i was away ... any of you lads any good at patch making because i am crap at making anything to do with Fifa or CM ... but am willing to give the Afl game a go .. i know the basics though
gotta buy it first .. when i get some cash !
zul-aid 04-10-2002, 03:40:AM I dont think you need a patch for a game that is near perfect, unless you want VFL, SAFL, QFL, etc....
Just ignore my review now after playing it many times there is no problems with it :) :) :)
The Drovers Dog 04-10-2002, 10:59:PM Yeah mate, it is as close to pefect as you could expect, Akklaim also have a recent\new Baseball game that could be worth checking out too, mm, now i wonder if that one is as good. ----
Jono82 07-10-2002, 05:24:PM Can you trade players?
zul-aid 07-10-2002, 05:33:PM Yeah i think you can from memory, ill check that
