Then RvN makes it 4-1 in the 54. Forlan came on and nearly scored a goal! Chelsea2001 19-09-2002, 12:03:AM Cohen just got one back in the 85th minute:jambo: :( Chelsea2001 19-09-2002, 12:06:AM OMG Forlan has scored, it was a penalty though:jambo: night 19-09-2002, 12:18:AM weeeeehaaaaa... i am happy cuz diego scored.. more happy than the 5-2 win :D cchow32 19-09-2002, 12:57:AM Lol Becks and Solksjaer both wanted to take the penalty, but decided to give it to Forlan. It would've been funny as **** if he missed it. Anyway, congrats to him for breaking his goal drought. -William- 19-09-2002, 01:00:AM OMG did Forlan finally really score ?!?!?!?! :jambo: :crazyboy: :D manufan 19-09-2002, 01:08:AM Originally posted by K-Man :) :) :) :) keep it up Man U! :) Am I seeing right???? I hope Forlan can score more for Utd. i'm happy he did it. Maybe Manutd will play better in the epl now ? :) Larry 19-09-2002, 10:50:AM Originally posted by windtalker Maybe Manutd will play better in the epl now ? :) Yes, hopefully :mrpimp: The True 19-09-2002, 10:55:AM I'm not a Maccabi Haifa fan (and that's an understatment) but I feel I should say it: sure the gap between Man U and M haifa is huge, still Haifa looked shocked all through the game, they didn't play aggrasive, didn't saw any tackles, it seems like they're standing, watching and applausing Man U moves... very weird... cause M Haifa is better then she performed in that game. I guess that first time in the CL, and first time at Old Traford kindda gives you the shock... zul-aid 19-09-2002, 11:14:AM yeah like no one saw that coming 5-2. I said they will win something (even thou I hate Man Utd) Larry 19-09-2002, 11:30:AM Imagine how good it would feel to score a goal to put your team ahead 1-0 against one of the worlds best teams. I would love it :mrpimp: MikeM 19-09-2002, 12:00:PM Yeesss! That's the best I've seen United play in a while. Ruudy looks sharp, that finish was sublime, Seba had a good game, Becks was everywhere and Diego finally got that monkey off his back! Save for a few lapses at the back, that was a great performance - Bring on Spurs! Mike. Larry 19-09-2002, 12:13:PM Originally posted by MikeM Yeesss! That's the best I've seen United play in a while. Looks good :mrpimp: Jari Litmanen 19-09-2002, 01:12:PM Yes the infamous Maccabi Haifa I remember last year they were disqualified from the UCL qualifiers when they played a player who wasn't eligble to play against Finnish champions FC Haka. Well Maccabi are a good team & they've shown that! Israeli football isn't all that bad but making the away trip there must be a bad experience to say the least! mihalll 19-09-2002, 01:52:PM Press conference before the match: Ferguson: We watched our opponents playing. Israeli football has made a great progress. Our rivals won with Lokomotiv Moscow, Parma, and AC Milan last season - it's a huge step forward. We know we cannot disregard them. TV Sports Five Plus: I think you are talking about different team. Ferguson: What? Have they changed since last season? TV Sports Five Plus: No, you are talking about different team - Hapoel Tel Aviv and you are playing with Maccabi Haifa! Ferguson: :o :monkeyman :$ :D INFESTA 19-09-2002, 04:29:PM Originally posted by mihalll Press conference before the match: Ferguson: We watched our opponents playing. He's the coach, how the hell doesn't he know his team's opponent in the CL!? Didn't he study the team? Come on, even FC Infesta studies their opponents! Larry 20-09-2002, 08:57:AM Originally posted by INFESTA I think that's more than just a mistake. He's the coach, how the hell doesn't he know his team's opponent in the CL!? Didn't he study the team? He just studied the wrong team, thats all IceBlu 20-09-2002, 11:16:AM Originally posted by g-14 He just studied the wrong team, thats all :jambo: What are u on about ?? Studying the opposition is the most basic thing any football team can do. And yeah...its not only the coach involved...its the whole squad that studies the opposition. So if Furgeson could mistake Maccabi Haifa for Tel Aviv then he isn't fit to do the job. Its not like they watch the team on ESPN and go out and play them the next day like a freakin CM game. Theres a lot of thought behind each move the manager makes for any specific team. And no team can be taken for granted..let alone the ones in the CL. This ain't an EA sports game u know.... Can't stop the rush... 20-09-2002, 11:19:AM Originally posted by INFESTA Come on, even FC Infesta studies their opponents! I think they need to a bit more then Man Utd.:p :D  rahulmvora 20-09-2002, 12:20:PM nice win for man utd .... but i think forlan is useless (though i am a man utd supporter) . he's Sh!t . i think man utd SHOULD have purchased morientes . i dont think rio was that much necessary IMO(30 million$, that too for a defender :jambo: ).they should have taken a great striker like morientes and a decent midfielder to assure that when thier strength i.e midfield&forwards dont lose thier charm after 2 /3 midfielders are injured . Dude we needed a defender more then ever. Rio's a great signing and he will prove himself over and over again. To be honest I think that we needed another defender. That Julien Escude would have been great to have had at Old Trafford. Now it seems like we need another midfielder, because we have so many injuries, but I think we've got more then enough. We've got 6 great midfielders and some young talents coming trough. The striker position is a bit disputable. Recently we've been playing with 2 strikers (hail fergie!) and there's only one back up, that is indeed quite few. But last season we had the same. There was Yorke but he never played. Amika 21-09-2002, 05:25:AM once their injuires problem is easy off then i think they will slowly come back... but for the time being things don't look good...
