WOW..u are really smart!!!..importing the same game from another country just to have a different piece of paper on the cover.. i wonder why i din't think of that...oh yeah thats right...cuz i'm not stupid!!!

oh yeah and if u don't like MLS u can just say u don't like it.. why do u say its ****y?..is it cuz we can't spend millions of dollars on players who only care about themselfs?? or players who are earning millions complaining that they're too tired to play?... or let me guess is it becuase unlike MLS where at the end of regular season play everyteam is still in contention for the playoffs whereas in most Euro leagues every body know what 3-4teams will battle for the cup from the begining of the season while every other team will be happy to just saty in the top division...

oh yeah i think they should change the cover..Donovan is way over ratted..

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah...representn' San Jose "to da fullest"

Guys, give the MLS 5yrs, and a few of the teams will have to be included in your euro tournaments. The World Cup wasn't a fluke. And let me tell you, as I see it around; people are playing soccer...they are catching futbolitis in the United States (well, here in California anyways).

But who knows, it might just be a fad'.

Peace out

Well, I am not really a big fan of the MLS, I just don't like the teams and the league in general. I think that their way of playing is too tactical and they don't have the kind of creative players like Riquelme or Saviola or D'Alessandro...that's just my opinion. I think US soccer will get better, but still I don't think it will overpass the level of the South American teams or European teams. that's just my opinion!!

See YA, Andy!!

Ok, the guy shows a box cover for the N.American version, and now we are battling out too see if the MLS is good. Well, first and foremost, the cover does suck. I'm lucky enough to live in a country that will get the european covers, but it really doesn't bother me, consider i lose the cover right away anyway. SECONDLY, lets be honest. The mls is the worst league. Seriously, i hear all this stuff about "Oh wait 5 years" well, lets see, in 5 years, maybe two more teams will get bankrupt. I don't know if its just me, but since this terrible league started, it's already had two teams bankrupt and an embarrasing call on an own goal. Apparently, there was a game between two teams, I think, NY/NJ Metro Stars vs. Chicago Fire...but whatever, i dont care which team it was. Get this, on a corner, a player from the defending team headed in a goal into his own net, you sure it happens, BUT, the league counted the goal to the player on the opposition that was CLOSEST to the net.....god, this isn't ICE hockey. Seriously, you have NO support in the US, you have 10 teams! you had 12, and now its 10, way to go. if you dont believe MLS has 10 teams, go here http://www.majorleaguesoccer.com/teams/rosters/
You have...conferences?!?? hahah what the h*ll? you treat the game as if it was Basketball, Baseball, or ICE Hockey. usually, FOOTBALL, has a league, and a cup tournament, but the season is more important as it determines which teams will goto EC. In your case, i guess you have no choice but to have conferences, considering you really have nothing to play for. Man, i even heard there was a College Basketball Game before the Debut match between the Chicago Fire and another team, i think NY/NJ. Man, the Basketball game went on for 35 or 40 minutes overtime, so instead of watching a Football Opener, citizens of the US of A, have to watch college basketball, as they were mid-way through the season themselves, so it shows the media could care less. I am pretty damn sure, if a opener between the Detroit Red Wings, vs. the Colorado Avalanche would've been shown ON TiME instead of the college basketball. I compare the Fire vs. Metrostars to RedWings vs. Avalanche, because, those are pretty much the big teams there. I didn't see crazy parties when US of A beat Portugal 3-2! I didnt see crazy parties when the US of A made it all the way to play Germany?!? NO support. I agree the national team did well, no question, it was no fluke they made it far, but its the farthest USA has EVER gotten. Senegal had a national holiday when they beat France! and they made it all the way to the Quarters! Did you see turkey in the streets when they beat senegal??? the whole country had a holiday, it was the SECOND time they ever made the world cup. And don't give me this trash about how USA was top ten in the so called Fifa World Rankings, those are absolute trash rankings. They rated Columbia ahead of Italia during the world cup, when, columbia never even made the world cup! I mean, they say USA is better than italia...god. MLS teams dont even have their own stadiums! what, chicago plays at the Bears Stadium or something?? a American Football stadium? what the hell? you expect this league to grow in 5 years, when the teams don't even have their own stadiums????????? MLS is awful, give it up.

seriously after then united won there 3rd i tink cup, every1 at that time was ssaying oh give it 2-3 years and it will grow...mls is just signing old players that wont play nation teams anymore...and now i think all the florida teams have gone kicked out i dont kno how!?!? watevr mls is also never on tv, compared 2 the other american sports...funny how soccer(football) is a sport played all over the world and it rarely shows on television

thats why you dont play in North America, you go to Europe to play football. They do almost nothing to promote it here.

To watch soccer matches I have to get up at 7am on Saturdays, and it only runs till about 9 or 10am

only saturday mornings, its a joke

FuriousGeorge

Landon Donovan = Lame player??

Whatever.

He is a great hope for the US and a class player. Maybe the cover is weak, but he is not the reason.

Maybe all you Euros (and wannabe US euros) don't understand the impact that kid has made on the game here.

But anyway... who gives a Rats @ss about the cover?

Hey Serhat Akin...

Ease up Cowboy. The MLS may be a bunch of crap right now, but it is actually helping the sport in the US. Not saying it is right or wrong, but... The US has more important things to think about and celebrate than soccer. It is a Kid's sport here. Now... That is changing. And well, maybe in 5 years there will be a huge difference.

BUT!!! Why should we "Give Up" on a pro soccer league just because you don't like it? Wow... you get pretty excited about a cover don't you?

Have you ever thought that all the little kids who play this game in the US like the MLS?

What the Format isn't Euro enough for you? Get over it. Loser.

Donavan will not be on the front cover for every country only america. Im sure giggs, carlos, and davids will proberly be on the front cover for most of europe
I stress again, Donavon on front cover will only apply to america.

look..."CoWbOy":kader:
you gotta ease up. Defending one of the worst leagues in the world is not something that i made up, its a fact. Ok? "CoWbOy" or "Furious G" or "Furious George" or whatever stupid name you call yourself. Man, you just admitted it right there, "its a kid sport" and you claim its changing. Wow, really? its changing huh? yeah, it changed all right, from 12 teams to 10 teams. What will happen in 5 years cowboy? 10 to 5 teams? 4 Maybe? It's not what I think, but it's facts. The league is losing money, it has weak TV rights. TV companies don't really set their priority on the MLS. Again, it's not what I think, it's what's going to happen. You're from texas anyways....a texan football supporter? I guess it is really changing in the States??? :kader:

Give it up, MLS is terrible

Ok MLS?...oh man how the hell are we supposed to take it seriously. Like serhat09 said, they don't even have their own stadiums and we're supposed to take them seriously? Now I've heard it all, usa is better than italia, oh man you have to be a complete idiot if you think that, those fifa ratings mean nothing. USA didn't even celebrate when they made it to play germany, all their fans did was sit around the tv and get drunk. If fifa 2003 has Landon Donovan on the cover of it, i won't buy it!!!!!

woah dude. You sure you mean that "peace" thing in your sig? Anyways, Soccer (football) is a great sport, but it is not "American". (I will generalize here) That's neither good nor bad, just the way it is. Americans are gritty and tough. They have icons like Patton and John Wayne. Cigar in the mouth... non shaved... tough... get things done. That's why American football is so popular. It's big guys lined up, ready to knock each other out BAM. Then past that part, is the strategy. That's what wins the game. Short, brutal and fast.

You can go into other aspects of their personality, as well. Like car designs, and other engineering feats. Americans tend to be simpler and bigger. Europeans make extravagent, little, finicky things. Completely parallelling sports. Soccer is finicky and time consuming. Long and drawn out. Not to say I don't like it... it's just the way it is.

Hmmm. I don't think so. Donovan is 20 yrs old. He is not the youngest player ever to score in a WC match. Matter of fact, he was not even the youngest to score at this WC. Dmitri Sychev of Russia is only 18 and he scored a goal. Michael Owen was also 18 years old when scored in France 98. I believe that the youngest ever to score in a WC match is still Pele at 17yrs and 239 days.

I hope you aren't trying to step up "Buckaroo".

Where in my message do you see " I AM A HUGE MLS FAN." I am not. But... We are developing a league nd making it as good as we can right now. I am pretty damn proud that my country is trying to improve its understanding and acceptance of "soccer".

You really don't know much about the world do you... A Soccer Fan in Texas??? Hh??? Texas is nearly half Mexican. Half my family live in Mexico, Half in Texas...

I know I know... It doesn't really matter what the MLS is. You just have a need to bash the US. Feel free, just shows your own ignorance. I personally am not going to bash another developing soccer country (like Turkey).

Back off.

A developing country doesn't end up 3rd in the world cup. Galatasaray won the uefa cup in 2000. The footbal world got to face it Turky is now a big football country. As of my own country (Holland) didn't even got to Korea/Japan.

Thank you LuisArco27! see texan, unlike some countries...i.e. US of A, countries in europe, or fans in european countries if you will admit Turkey is more of a in between Developed football nation and a developing nation. The first win ever against Germany pretty much got them developing at a fast pace. Now becoming Third in The World, development....it's just developed now. The only thing left is to win the World Cup or The European Championship 2004. Sure, development is needed, but your saying the MLS ...or the United States is developing?? give me a break. You're extremely underdevloped, and losing two club teams in the MLS, having weak TV revenue, low support, no stadiums of their OWN, changing own goal rules..its more clearly defined as - Declining - rather than developing. I'm sorry, but a league that is having problems, listed there two lines above, is surely not going to develop. And don't question me about world knowledge, usually for football, a person usually supports the country of their roots, judging from your texan flag, you are supporting US of A, or so it seems.
