Ok:

I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on J-League Winning Eleven 6. A lot has been said in other boards about this game, here are my impressions.

1. the game is much slower than WE6. It has a more relaxed feel to it. Coming from WE6, it is kinda difficult to get used to this speed, but in my opinion I like it better. It feels more "real"

2. Check this out. Now when you use the RAS for a ground pass, you can swerve the ball. That's right, I was very impressed with this, and it is a welcome addition to the game. You have to see it to believe it.

3. The long analog pass LAS or RAS + L1 has been changed, now it is a higher slower pass than before. I have found this very helpful as it now gives your player more time to run for the ball.

4. Many new animations have been added. Specially when fighting for the ball. Players no longer stand there or "stagger" when disposessed, but keep on fighting for the ball. I don't know how to explain it, but it seems like Konami has finally given the players some "balls". They just elbow, kick and shove their way for possession. Very, very awesome.

5. When you are running and double tap the pad, the ball goes much farther away than before, this depends on the speed of course.

6. Sometimes when you make a 1-2, the player who originated it, signals with his hand when he breaks away from the defender, like asking for the pass. Very cool.

Of course the kits are awesome.

The only drawback to the game is the J-League teams. As you all know most players are not too "technically gifted" to be politically correct. You can unlock some european club teams though.

If WE6 Final is going to be like this, I just can't wait to see it.

Konami has done it again. As always, giving us a better game each time.

Dammit Konami, give me my life back!!!!!

This is what I remember from the game so far, have only had it for a couple of days. Will post more if I discover new things.

The speed of the game is mainly due to the fact that you are playign with J league teams. I remember the same feeling with JLWE5.

damn, my hopes were raised when you said the game speed was slower than WE6 and it would be a shame if it's only because the J-league players are slower

i play the PAL patched version of WE6 (which slows it down) and I find the slower speed is excellent and very realistic. I occassionaly try the unpatched version (normal speed) and it's far too fast to be realistic.

Konami, bring back the speed slider!!!!!

Goalies are a better now some some extra animations to pull off saves and the game is miles smoother. Absolutley no solwdowns what so ever.
However there are some downsides to the game I feel and I think its because of the J League factor.

Firstly some of the players are pathetic in front of goal. I was playing as FC Tokyo and my man had an open net from six yards and headed the ball over.

Some players are garbage when they shoot.

And the computer is a pain in the arse. When your fighiting for a ball it tends to fall over and win loads of freekicks. But when your fighting off a defender you never seem to fall or at least very rarely and you loose the ball after being tugged all over the place.

Just lacking in a abit of consitency

The game is amazing despite the quality of the teams :|

Things I liked :-

*The game flows so well, you feel more freedom in the player’s movement and it's a lot easier to dribble around the opposition

*The players are a lot more physical with each other when trying to tackle, you find that the defender leans on you a lot more in order to win back position. I scored a goal where two of my players where fighting over the ball, crazy selfish Japs :P

*No longer do your players refuse to move towards the ball when it’s right next to them, remember how the players in we6 sometimes felt like they were stuck to the floor when the ball was there to be won. Grrr ;)

*Kits are very nice but we wont see quality like this in PES2 :|

*The skills are brilliant. To get the most out of this game I made some of my own players because they Japs are crap, no offence ;p I saved a very nice goal, will try to post it sometime. Basically I was out near the edge of the 18 yard box with my back to a defender, I back heeled the ball through the defenders legs and turned him, knocked it past the next defender before cutting inside and finishing in the bottom corner leaving the keeper with no chance :p

*Sound is awesome, need I say more

*Shooting is easier and so is chipping, I found the chipping to be too sensitive in we6

*New anims are very cool, especially the keeper :)

Things I dislike :-

*Still no instant replay feature, I don’t understand why they leave it out

Apart from that I am very pleased with how PES2 will turn out, October/November will be a great months :)

*WE6 J-L
*PES2 Demo
*GTA : Vice City
*New Foo Fighters album
*PES2
*Queens of the Stone Age concert
*Foo Fighters concert

Best ever :)

Mish, you're forgetting United's now-traditional pre-Christmas spurt in form.........by the time we're playing PES2, Ruuuuuud will be Champs League top scorer, and maybe we'll have put 6 past Arsenal.......

The fact that you can't call up replays on WE and PES, and you never could on ISS either....it's obviously a problem in the actual code of the game, or the way it's made -- like how they save memory and cut corners on things like menu screens and game options, so they can fit in the massive AI. Seabass said that the AI in PES took up about 70% of the total game - maybe replay-on-demand is something else that was sacrificed right at the beginning to make room and, because the game engine hasn't changed much since, they can't put it in without rewriting the program. It's such an obvious thing to have in a game, and it's been on every wish list since 1998, KCET would surely have added it by now if it was as easy as that. Then again, we all say that about European Leagues, more teams, etc. etc....

can anybody confirm that you are now able to trade players between club teams? (the first option in edit mode)

This all sounds very cool, you know they are just going to keep re-fining their game engine with subtle little touches. I can't wait to see the way 2 players scrap for the ball in PES2. I like the sound of the 1-2 feature where the player signals with his hand. It reminds me of the way the keepers in ISSPE1 used to get angry after saving a shoot and wave their arms around at the defenders. Shame they removed that from later versions....
