hey everyone!
my first post here :)

first of, let me tell you about myself (if you even care..)
name is Ilya. My nationality is russian, thats where i was born and lived til 12. all i ever did since age 3 was play soccer... i would be out up to like 6 hours a day doing nothing BUT soccer.

well, moving to US didn't help me soccer-wise.. i played through 7th grade, on a field in a near-by highschool, just to stay with the game.
Well, after 7th grade, i haven't touched a ball til this year. im now 16, a junior in Hillsboro High School in OR. i decided, what the heck, 2 years left in HS. might as well play soccer again :). Im only JV right now, cuz i came out late, and it's my first year HS, but im good enough to play varsity, that's what all the players (including varsity players) tell me anyways :)

i realised how much i actually missed the game for the last 3-4 years.. it's a LOT of fun getting back to it.


anyways, enough of that....... :-d


my question is, should i try to go on and play college soccer if i can? sure i wont be able to get into a great soccer college here, but like D2 or something? then maybe ican make a minor-league team (like AAA Portland.. Hillsboro is just like 30 miles away from Portland). Are there like tryouts everyyear that each MLS team holds? or anything of that nature?

I think you should work at it and go for it. If you aim high (MLS:crazyboy: jk) then maybe at worst you will get your post-secondary payed for by scholarship.
