View Full Version : Finally, I decided to.........
as roma 20-12-1999, 02:36:PM It took some time, but I finally removed FIFA2000 from my system and re-installed FIFA99. What a difference. I am sending FIFA 2000 pack by courier to the president. I want my money back.
Everything from the high scores, american commentary, inaccurate rosters, inaccurate away uniforms, having to change IGM's before the games to make them realistic.
That is too much work. When I put in FIFA 99 you just start playing against a tough defense and better looking players, etc.etc.etc.. ENOUGH SAID!
PolishPower 21-12-1999, 05:42:AM God bless you man Ive been playing my "old" FIFA 99, while my FIFA 2000 is being used as a coaster. Once again if anyone gets this game as a present, return it unopened for your money back!
as roma 21-12-1999, 07:29:PM Hey Polish Power, I don't think I can get my money back, as it is iver 30 days old. That is why i want to send it straight to the president of EA.
Why do you think so many peploe like 2000?
My reason for liking it is simple. The inclusion of one schedule. I.E. League and cup games at the same time and the ability to qaulify for the cups the follwoing year. I had a great time winning the league and Italian and EFA cup with Roma and now look forward to doing it again in my second season accept this time I qualifed for the Champions League. This alone to me makes the games better than Fifa 99.
Forza Roma
Cecco 22-12-1999, 12:13:AM Ezio, the fact that you play with a team like Roma explains everything to me.
LOSER
Italy82 22-12-1999, 12:23:AM Hey ezzo ,as rome wont go anywhere ,Lazio will show who is king of Rome ,meanwhile Juve will show everyone why they are the best team in the world.
PolishPower 22-12-1999, 06:02:AM AS Rome:
I think a lot of people like it(well not sure how many actually like it, but a few do) because they are easy to please, or else they play this game more for "fun", read "scoring lots of goals", rather than looking for a reasonable simulation of a football match...
for example look at the comment made few posts before on how "the consecutive league scheduels alone make the game better than FIFA 99":
What is the point of playing consecutive seasons if your players don't change(i mean improve skill, or deteriorate due to age or injury)? You're playing the same season three times using the same squad against opponents with the same squads, i mean the great improvement on FIFA 99 is lost on me!
Then you get to play European cups but what about the fact that some teams that were in the European cups this year are not even in the game!(In 99 you had all the Champions League and CWC teams, plus all teams from UEFA cup 3rd round on.?)
And how about the fact that suspensions earned in league play carry over into European play(bogus!!!)or the fact that you are limited to controlling 1 team! you can't control the promoted sides which I know a lot of people were looking forward to before this game came out. or the fact that all the stats are cumulative, so you can't tell how many goals player scored in league and how many in cups?
In summation so called "consecutive seasons" is a botched up job, like most of the other things in this game...
Edoardo 22-12-1999, 06:48:AM i think that people who have never played a decent footie game will like F2k but dedicated gamers will piss and moan because they want more of a challenge they have grown up with the game and expect it to grow as well but we forget one simple thing that the game is made to target a younger audience so it will be kept simple and arcade like. The majority of the people in this forum seem to want a FIFA Championship Maneger type of game with the ability to play with the team in the field, personaly i think this game would be awesom so the question in hand is when is a company going to realise that there is a market for this type of game. i dont have a computer but i have seen many manager games and not a single one can you controll a team in the field when will this idea dawn in a programer if only they visited the frigging forums.in the mean time it's fun to piss and moan so screw EA !!!!
If you play footy games on the playstation then go to www.playstation-football.com
After that click on the link for the bulletin board or click on the other link to something called This is Football. I have been a huge EAsports and Fifa series fan since 1996. Each year I hang out and wait and hope EAsports will improve the game and since World Cup98 the games have got worse. (playstation versions). Next year I wont bother checking out the EAsports footy game. I will be waiting for the next version of This is Football. EAsports have tried to play the offside trap but Sony have broken through and scored a runaway goal.
Bye Bye EAsports
Italy 82, You may be right about Lazio but that wasn't my point. I was just saying why I enjoyed the game personally. And for those of you who don't agree with my choice of team sorry but that is who I like and few other teams from different leagues that i will also use.
I admit Fifa is not perfect no video game ever will be. Because then companies wouldn't have to make a game the folllwing year and that isn't going to happen. But I am enjoying Fifa 2000 and I am sorry that most of you are not.
PolishPower 23-12-1999, 05:30:AM ZZUB I agree with you I sure as hell am not buying the next EA soccer game before I take a look at it or read peoples posts about it on the boards.
From what I see about it, Sony This is Football is the game of the future...
