View Full Version : SUPRISE SUPRISE ANOTHER OVER THE HILL ITALIAN VET MAKES IMPACT IN ENGLAND
Juninhio 13-01-2000, 05:19:AM My, oh my!
Is the English league really that easy. Now that AC Milan have Schevechenko, Bierhoff, and Mari, Weah has become fourth choice.
Meaning he cant even play when Leonardo is healthy.
So off he goes to Disneyland in England where if its your first game they play you as a lone striker rather than others.
Bergkamp, Kanu, Vialli, Gullit, Ziege, Ince and now George Weah. Well I guess if you can cut it you stay in Italy. But when your 33 and no longer needed you go to England to elevate to superstardom.
Watch, I predict he replaces Sutton for most of his stay in Chelsea and partners Zola. I mean what would you rather have two players Flo and Sutton from the Mickey Mouse leagues or two warriors that know what it takes to win after playing in the best league for so long!
Kewell the Jewell 13-01-2000, 07:57:AM Ric can you please delete this topic??
PolishPower 13-01-2000, 08:34:AM George Weah is no joke, he will take Chelsea to the top, against all odds...
Battiston 13-01-2000, 08:39:AM I think he is a bit old to make an impact, isn' he?
I wonder how well he is going to do and how long he is going to stay.
GOONERBHOY 13-01-2000, 10:14:AM Juhninio,
What are you getting at with your examples of Bergkamp, Kanu, Vialli, Gullit, Ziege and Ince?
Bergkamp for one left Inter a brilliant player and still is!
and Kanu has been fighting his heart condition and is only 23!
Vialli and Gullit are Retired
And Ince and Ziege are crap
GINOLAAHH! 13-01-2000, 01:01:PM The english premier league is, without a doubt, the best league in the world for god sake. Look at Man Utd, European Champions. And can you name me a top (and I mean Euro comp quality) serie A side with a mostly italian or entirely italian squad and the same goes for spanish and german squads.
Fulcrum 13-01-2000, 02:07:PM If the Serie A players are so good then why is it that the top goalscorers in England are all English. Kevin Phillips, Alan Shearer, Andy Cole and Michael Bridges. English teams don't have the greatest of records in Europe but the ferocity and tradition of the English Competition is greater then any other in the world. A Milan derby is very nice but I would rather watch Liverpool take on Man Utd or Sunderland vs Newcastle, or watch an FA Cup clash where results are totally unpredictable.
Err... Juninho... You really don't know anything do you... Chelsea bought Weah because they are doing turd and they need an available replacement to get them on their feet. Weah on loan is a good deal as it suits both clubs.
Oh... IF THE ENGLISH LEAGUE IS SO RUBBISH HOW COME NOT 1 SOUTH AMERICAN HAS MADE A TRUE IMPACT IN IT? While South Americans run the Spanish and Brazilian leagues.
And don't say Juninho did because I have seen him every year he played for Boro and he is nothing compared to Merson, Hignett, Ince, Barmby and Ziege.
GOONERBHOY... Ince and Ziege are fantastic players... One is the bargin of the year, and one is the forigen import of the year. I'm sure any team in the Premiership would lover to have two dedicated players such as these.
jsbach 13-01-2000, 09:46:PM YLK,
I'd say that Nolberto Solano has been Newcastle's most consistant player this season.
He's from Peru.
Obviously he's not dominating the league or anything, but I'd definitely count his performance this year as "making an impact"...and there are certainly plenty of Premiership teams that would be intersted if he were put on the market.
As for Weah...
There were plenty of Serie A teams interested in him but it was Milan that refused to loan him within the league, saying that they didn't want to help their opposition.
PS: How many Championship League Champions English teams have?
My point - Best players in the World (Using WC rank) - Brazil, Argentina, France(don't agree), Holland, Italy. Where they play is the best league.
Becks7 14-01-2000, 02:37:AM Lord...
"where they play is the best league"???????????????????
that has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard!
crystalpalace 14-01-2000, 03:30:AM he scored one goal with a scrappy header against spurs. what about AC Milan awesome display in the champions league. Finishing bottom and losing to Galatasaray.
Very good!
SUPRISE SUPRISE, ANOTHER POSTING FROM JUNINHIO WITH NO OTHER INTENTION OTHER THAN TO FIND A NEW ANGLE TO DISS OTHER SOCCER IN OTHER COUNTRIES.
Bolso 14-01-2000, 07:19:AM YLK
Poyet...
PolishPower 14-01-2000, 08:07:AM Not one S.American player made an impact? I think Gustavo Poyet is doing very well in England, He's Uruguayan. Also how many how many players from starting 11 Brasil and Argentina teams are currently playing in England? Now are you saying if Batistuta or Rivaldo moved to England they wouldn't be able to hack it?
I think the real reason there is not more S. Americans in England is that whenever they want to get top players from S.America they seem to get outbid by Italian or Spanish teams, you know the names...
Ok Becks7!
Where the best players didnīt play is the best League!
We did a query here last month and the result was:
1) Italian
2) Spanish
3) Donīt remember
4) English
Italy82 14-01-2000, 05:26:PM Ginolahh,Juventus have many italians ,what about Man Utd.They are not all from England .
Hey Ginolahh ,you can say Man Utd won the CL,but who won the Uefa or the winners cup?If I remember both winners were an italian team .This year Lazio will win it and next year it will Juventus turn.Another thing .Did you know the top 3 teams in the world are italian teams ,if you dont beleive me ,then see it for yourself at www.soccernet.com
