errr i am a bit shocked by that.

i was a tad disappointed by the ref's decisions ... but u cant exactly blame italians for nufc loosing, really it was just a matter of time before juve were gonna blow us out of the water.

that might not be the point but its happened, i think just get on with it, nufc got better things to worry about ... like repeating last years performance and actually beating some class sides instead of pissing bottom half loosers.

Juventus look like a team in form. Del Piero is back to his outstanding best and I wouldn't be surprised to see either Juve or Milan pick up the trophy this year. I'm glad that Italian football is improving after having a few dismal years in European Competitions, let's be honest Roma didn't look all that good.

Del Piero's free kick yesterday was sublime.

Juventus were certainly the better side but there is no doubt that Del Piero dived to gain the free kick that led to the first goal.

There was minimal contact and the Italian dived down as if he had been hit by a homing missile.

The Shearer goal should also have stood considering that Dyer wasn't in an active position at all. The linesman didn't raise his flag until Shearer headed the ball which meant that he thought Shearer was offside, when he was about 4 yards on at least.

Still too early to count our chickens before they hatch...

Italian football has lost it's mentality to go all the way, and that will be the real test...

Although I will admit, after these CL games, and the last lot of serie A games have also proven that Italian Football has changed it's style, playing more in attack and making good use of individual talent...

Del Piero was always good, but after his year off from injures Ancelotti ****ed him up... Always tried to restrict his playing style and wanted to turn him into a OH alla Zidane...

Del Piero is like Maradona, he needs freedom in front of the goal to express his style... At least now with Lippi back his doing that...

I hope that Juve this year will bring back the cup... Italy needs it...

On the diving part, when you're in fast movement and then a minimal obstacle gets in your way, it will change your path very quickly...

totally agree with ya Wolf......and ur spot on about the fact that DP needs freedom to express himself. He played great last season and hes having a stormer again .

Totti is in great form too. Did you see his hat-trick last weekend? Great stuff from him.

I'm glad to see Italian teams charging on the attacking end for a change. They finally realized that there's a best chance of winning when they do so.

Totti is a great player... But I feel he should stay in Midfield and bring the ball forward... In attack he sometimes get lost...

My forward line will still be Del Piero and Vieri, with Brighi and Totti behind them...

I still don't understand why Italy since it's 82 success has been playing defensive... We produce some of the world's best forwards and all round players... If they were given more freedom, the Vier, Del Piero and Totti Tandam could give the Brazilian tamdam the same amount of goals...

The only real successful defence Team in my opinion has been the Milan of Capello's first era... But since 82 the Italiam club trophies have come from attacking sides like, Van Basten Milan, Platini and Vialli's Juve and etc...

Like Lazio, 3 years ago they were meant to be the team of a new era... Fast and attacking... Sold it's offensive front line men, decided to go defensive, and where are they now... ???

Marco Di Vaio has been cleared by the doctors after that nasty clash of heads he had.He was kept under observation for the night at the hospital. He will play in this weekends SerieA game.

Del Piero dedicated his 2 goals to Di Vaio.
