curved 03-10-2002, 04:38:AM Hello mate,
how the hell do you create PPF patches after you have edited an ISO. I'm working on a patch for PES and I can't work out how you create the PPF file... Can you give me some pointers...
Thanks!
cymonguk 03-10-2002, 11:45:AM I dont know mate, I cant even get a working edited iso for PES! how did you manage it?
cymonguk 03-10-2002, 11:46:AM Ill have a look cant remember right now, if its same as old ones.
cymonguk 03-10-2002, 12:02:PM http://www.paradogs.com/pdx_ppf2.htm#Make

what utility are you using to copy and edit have you tested it?
Mine refused to read...
ZePenguin 03-10-2002, 12:39:PM Did you guys used eccregen to correct the errors made by the ppf ? apparently it's needed for ps2 games

I used CD-Rwin but set the extracting speed to 1x anything higher and it seems to go a bit crazy :crazyboy:
I'm basically making a patch with all the correct players names, nothing too fancy not altering any stats just helping out all those who have a chipped ps2 and want the correct names of certain players :)
cymonguk 03-10-2002, 11:02:PM What is it and where to get it mate?
If I get this then I may do a EPL PES patch!
cymonguk 03-10-2002, 11:04:PM If you are having probs with makeppf then try moving the 2 bin files to the same place as makeppf I think this helped when I did it.
cymonguk 03-10-2002, 11:06:PM if you are having probs with makeppf try putting both bins in the same folder as make ppf.

i don't really know what it is, but apparently using a ppf changes in the error recovery thing in the image, this prog should correct it (if it's the problem that caused your troubles)
get it at http://eccregen.cjb.net/ (there's a detailed explanation on what it does on that site)
curved 04-10-2002, 01:18:AM If you download the PES Editor from the downloads centre it comes with ECC regen and something else to help fix a patch...
cymonguk 04-10-2002, 02:04:AM Anyone know if you have to burn the new image in RAW?
curved 04-10-2002, 04:25:PM Don't know sorry mate. But tommorow I will tell you because the patch is finished but I'm too tired to burn a copy...
:-s

I didn't burn the image in raw and it works fine on my messiah chipped ps2.
The patch is complete but as per usual you can't load an options file which unfortunatly rules out the Master League. Hell you can't have 'em all!
I will release the patch in the SG downloads center as soon as I can :)
cymonguk 05-10-2002, 05:55:AM Tried altering one player on mine but it wont work!
1. I used CDRwin to take a copy at 1x speed in RAW mode.
2. edited (Ferdinand to Man U).
3. Run ecc regen
3i) Second version also used the other util.
4) burned cd at max speed?
PS2 starts reading and does that second whizz start up noise then stops dead....
cymonguk 05-10-2002, 05:56:AM I tried burning a straight copy and that didnt work either....
curved 05-10-2002, 06:20:AM Your problem lies in the fact that you are burning at max speed. I have to burn my copies at 1x recording otherwise it doesn't work.
