reading the trilogy is ok if u have like a year to spare:p
KADER 01-01-2002, 03:38:AM I read the first book in 2months:rolleyes:
I must say, that if you liked reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy, you'll love reading "his dark materials" by Phillip Pullman! Absolutely FANTASTIC, I've never read a better story!
it starts with "Northern Lights", the second book is called "The Subtle Knife" and the third is "The Amber Spyglass"!
I hope they do movies on these, because I loved them!
Sir Calumn 05-10-2002, 07:49:AM I don't know how many of you are Lord of the Rings fans - I know I am!!!
Please vote on your favourite member of the fellowship - comments also welcome!!

the movie sux, but the book is awesome!
Internazionale 05-10-2002, 01:54:PM I love that movie very much. :D
But, the game is really sucks. :(
zul-aid 05-10-2002, 02:23:PM The movie was alright, i sat throught it watching on DVD, it wasnt as big or as good as its hype (i have never read the book) and usualy I dont like fantasy moives (well not this kind :p) but I give it a 7 out of 10 and in this day in age thats pretty good considering how special effects, sound effects have improved so much
Parra Power 05-10-2002, 02:33:PM In the book........... Aragorn, but in the movie I prefer Legolas.
Hakeem 05-10-2002, 03:13:PM Well, I've read the book, and I have to say that the movie is almost perfect. It has a few different things plus it doesn't have a lot of small things that would've make it perfect. But hey can't make a 10 hour movie so I think thats ok.
The movie, as the book, is an EPIC ADVENTURE and I for me, is the best Epic Adventure of all times.
Its fantastic, it has it all.
and the coolest character for me is Aragorn, but I have to say that Legolas is really good in the movie.
and 2 characters of the movies that are not part of the fellowship are Gollum (amazingly kade in the movie, I thought it was CGI but is actually an actor) and Treebear (thats CGI and its fantastic).
BTW: did someone watch the trailer for the two towers??? AMAZING!!!!!!
Larry 05-10-2002, 03:20:PM I liked the one with the bow&arrow. Whatever his name was :rockman:
INFESTA 05-10-2002, 04:27:PM Bugs Bunny.

yeah he was good man. he stuck the arrow into the guy close by and then takes it out and shoots it to the distance. now thats a smart guy.

Legolas is the man.
Can't deny Gandalf or Aragorn though.
Well, there is just something about Sam that makes him my favorite character. Next up would be Aragon, Legolas, and Frodo. But Sam, in a way, seems so innocent yet so loyal.
Sir Calumn 06-10-2002, 12:08:AM I thought the film was pretty good. It did miss a lot out but I think it was as good a they could have made it without it being twice as long. The book, in my opinion, is the BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN. I am a huge Tolkien fan. I saw the WORLD PREMIER of the Lord of the Rings at Leicster Square and have a First Edition of the Lord of the Rings worth over £15'000. Even my screen name for these forums is Lord of the Rings related.

Sir Calumn 06-10-2002, 12:11:AM No prizes for guessing whom I voted for :D

Larry 06-10-2002, 12:22:AM Legolas, thats his name. He was awes :rockman:
Nimreitz 06-10-2002, 07:24:PM Yeah Joe, I like Sam too. In the books I think he gets the most emotion out of me. Seriously, I LOVE Sam in the final book.
I think Aragorn is pretty sweet, I mean he IS King of Gondor.
Ubik Valis 07-10-2002, 04:20:AM D!ldo Packings........erm...i mean Bilbo baggins :p :kader: :| :crazyboy: :D
mhflierman 08-10-2002, 01:33:AM I'm a fan of Viggo Mortensen so I'll gor for Aragorn. He's just this cool fighter. :)
