Well, I have played PES, PES2 and some other football games. PES been the one I have played the most (a lot to be honest) and PES2 which was a demo I have played about 5 times or more.

Lets get some things straight:

FIFA 2003 ISN'T as realistic as the PES games, but is simulation (unless you choose otherwise *cought*Arcade*cough* :D ). But I do find it just as fun as PES if not more so and this is after 2 games of the demo, after editing the gameplay myself (only game length and some bookings, etc). I think that the game is well paced, smooth and the controls are very well done. The skill moves using the hold down button and moving the D-pad is so realistic and isn't easy to come to grips with. The overall feel of the ball when dribbling is very realistic and might be a little to easy to control at times, but I am sure if on World class mode I would be tackled and would have to pass much more. The quick pass button makes for some very exciting moves and strategies and to keep the power bar pass using what would have been the run button is VERY nice indeed.

It is a shame that the only way to foul a player is to hack them down with a slide, but it isn't THAT bad overall and doesn't affect the gameplay at all, it only takes out different ways of getting booked, hehehe. ;)

The freekick and corner system is very nice and realistic in its own way. In that, the shooting system is MUUUCH better and you can actually send shots over the cross bar without using full power, which makes it more realistic.

I played the game on semi-pro and wonder if any of you nutta's have actually tried World class and if you have won or not? I hope to hear a no, as to master World class in such short time is very dissapointing.

The crowd is amazing and the sounds are very nice, the stadium is a marvel to watch and the flares and other bit and bobs gives kind of a PES feel, especially getting rid of the colorful graphics, which pissed me off in past FIFA's, to kiddy like.

EA have done a good job and this is the best FIFA ever and one of the most fun football games ever and speaking of fun it does hold PES2 off, but not in realism that much.

I think I have been honest here, hope you're all enjoying your FIFA 2003 game playing and shame to hear that Ariel can't work his magic on this years game! :(
