View Full Version : Who thinks the game is good then?
nickclubman 10-10-2002, 05:26:AM By now, we shud have all played the FIFA 2003 demo a lot, with or without rainbow colours (I have no problems with demo) we shud all know if it is good or not, so please answer the poll. :)
Thanks,
Nick Clubman
FASE mc 10-10-2002, 11:19:AM the voting doesnt seem to work but my answer would be that i think its very very poor. 1st day i played it i liked it (new animations graphics etc) now its getting very boring
Fener_Bahce 10-10-2002, 02:30:PM The graphics are so messed up on my comp its not even funny, the jersey's are all miss coloured and its abnormally slow, this happens with ever fifa demo, and when i buy the game its always perfect, so dun worry
rob eardley 10-10-2002, 02:57:PM At first I thought the demo was ok but after about 30 play I can safely say it's bloody fantastic!!!! I am amazed at the little touches I keep discovering like glancing headers low shots, hitting the roof of the net while shooting on the turn, having to time headers just right to get the ball, the list keeps growing,
The game definitely grows on you the more you play and get used to the control system.
btw, I am playing using a first generation sidewinder gamepad, is it a lot better with a duel analog game pad and if so which one do you guys reccommend and where can I get one in England?
Cheers

I am with you :rockman:
I recomend Microsoft's Sidewinder gamepad, you should be able to get them any computer stores.
Anyway the game rocks, awsome animation, awsome graphics and yet awsome gameplay. The game builds up as it goes, there will be times it will get dirty like hard tackling from both sides, the game just gets more exciting. If the CPU loosing than they will attack with 3-4 forwards and + the midfielders helping them to score. But if they are ahead they defend. The crowd reacts to the game. If the home team scores they all cheer, and if the home team's defender grabs the ball from an attacker than the crowd cheers. Who ever don't like this game they are either jelouse, not their type, or has a ****ty PC with a ****ty graphiics card.

You're so damn right dude! This game is something of a rocker!!!:rockman: :rockman: :rockman: I love the fact that each match is sooo different from the previous. Like you see the computer really has a bad day at the office, and the next match it just wins evrything! Man the random behaviour system really works fine! Love this game! Love this game! Love this game! The more you learn to play it, the more you like it!
Graybeef 11-10-2002, 12:16:AM I couldn't vote! But its the best fifa ever! The shooting and passing are very impressive, and the goalkeepers are much more realistic now too.And the graphics are amazing, even with the rainbow bug! Can't wait for the full game, even with some of the leagues missing the creation center should sort out that, i hope peopel start releasing different leagues!

This is exactly why Fifa rocks :rockman: this time around. I have hated Fifa since the '99 version, and in this period I have really only played ISS/PES. But now.... I can't seem to make up my mind about buying PES2 or not, because Fifa '03 is just excellent!
In MY opinion it actually feels more realistic than PES, and with the small gameplay details and the graphics...
To quote rob eardley again... It's bloody fantastic!!!
rob eardley 11-10-2002, 02:15:AM ...it's just the little things that come together as awhole and make the game so good, I love playing PES and I think fifa 2003 borrows a lot from it, but i'm gonna stick my kneck out and say judging from the demo version, it makes for a more believable game of football, I also love the way the crowd noise builds up and the way you can trick your way past opponents without using a special skill button, the player's momentum is also very realistic.
btw, I already have a sidewinder gamepad, is there a new analogue verion out then or am I better off getting the thrusmaster analogue pad? if so any ideas where I can pick one up either off the web or in the shops over here?
Cheers

I can't help you. You played PES, I just read and that makes it impossible to understand that you say it feels more realistic than PES. I played FIFA 2003 some days (not whole the day :D ) after which I tried PES again and MY opinion is that it felt like heaven compared with FIFA... Just visit the ISS/PES forum from this same soccergaming website and read what PES/WE people say about it.
I am probably one of the last curious PES/WE/ISS players who are around on this FIFA 2003 forum, after playing the demo.
I am a curious type ( :) ) and will occasionally pop in overhere, but my decision is made: I buy PES 2 :rockman:
You know what my reaction was after playing PES again?
I uninstalled the FIFA 2003 demo, because I didn't need it, already having PES and getting PES 2 in the near future... :)

You know what? You PES people are like those preachers :p its like a religoin to you people. When ever some one puts comments on how FIFA is great over PES, you people just come in and talk about your PES how great it is blah blah blah, just like those religion preachers Which is funny though.
Yes PES WE is an awsome game I watched soo many vid clips and I played ISS 2 for a while which I had sooo much fun. But my openion is gameplay + graphics makes it much more realistic, since FIFA 2003 got both I think it is much more realistic than PES cause PES graphics not great as FIFA. Remember graphics + gameplay makes it more reaslitic. And also some of these PES players needs some psycological help cause they don't want to like FIFA, yes they do say that they want FIFA to be a great game but as I see some of their posts that seems that they hate the name FIFA and will stay away even it is better than PES. Well too bad for you people, I will play this game all year long and I will enjoy it too.
But FIFA 2003 RULEZZ :rockman:
rahulmvora 11-10-2002, 04:12:AM yup , fifa 2003 is fantastic ! :D
akyo77 11-10-2002, 04:34:AM i have a few disppointing on this FIFA 2003, just because it harder to head and lob, when you lob, no player go to target and get the ball, they just run past and watch the ball only...
Same as the header, until now, i still don understand how to head properly. Just look at the CPU, they always head awesome.
By the way. i still like the passing style and dribbling. Good work EA, if you can do the heading and lobbing more realistic, it will be a perfect FIFA!!

LOL. you are so, so right, canadian! I mean, its one thing to worship your god in private or in your own temple. but it's an entirely different thing to walk into another temple, describe in detail to the people in that temple why your god is so much better, and then say out loud "BUY PES2!" LOL! :)

Halleluyah my friend :D There is a reason for what you call preaching, and that's because all who played the game AND are hardcore soccerfans are really dilighted about it!
If I was you, I probably thought the same, but there is on huge difference, and that's the FEELING of the game. If you play FIFA and then you learn to play PES (if you did not play it before), after a while you get a feeling for the game which is much more real then FIFA. So yes, just watching movies is good to get a picture of the game, but to play it is a different matter.
If you are interested, just get an emulator AND a good desription of how to set it up, which you all can read on THIS site (http://www.issevolution.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/)
Than hire (for instance) ISS PRO Evolution soccer 2 from your local videoshop and feel it yourself! This version is older than FIFA and graphically not so good, but it gives you the feeling I am talking about. You always can PM me for questions :)

Well, there are just some small things in Fifa 2003 that i feel takes them past PES's gameplay. Although PES is great, there are also a lot of things that are not quite realistic.
E.g. the way the goalkeepers act, how the ball flies etc.
But take this in mind, I am not saying that PES isn't a good game and I am not saying that Fifa '03 is perfect (far from it).
At the moment though, Fifa has a lot of gameplay details that bring them infront. But on the 25 of October I am probably going to buy PES2, and for all I know it might be a lot better than Fifa '03 and PES.

Here we go again. Listen I respect your religion but mine is better :D Halleluyah :D
rob eardley 11-10-2002, 05:23:AM there is a difference between playability and realism, PES may actually be more playable than fifa as a game but I still think that Fifa '03 is truer to the game of football. Pro evo is extremely enjoyable to play, then again I am over the moon with the new gameplay in FIFA which has proven that it isn't just pretty (which it is extremely in it's 2003 incarnation) it has gameplay to back it up finally.
If only it had a management engine like Sensible World of Soccer on the AMIGA with all divisions and real transfers without the depth of CM, I'd be in Football gaming nirvana.
My two pen'th

Okay I leave this site, unless people have still things to say concerning me.
You see me back when FIFA 2003 is released to read all your comments on that; would be fun to read :)
Mauro DeLa Vega 11-10-2002, 05:53:AM I've just been playing athe Demo a couple of times again and going back to the original question of this Thread.
It's definately the Best FIFA ever.
I keep seeing new things everytime I play.
The keepers don't always go for the ball, If he knows it's going wide, he'll shield it from the opposition and let it roll past the goal.
If you're way ahead and go passing around, the crowd will support you and go "OLE!" everytime you succesfully pass the ball.
The Through ball (W) is great for quick combinations in the box with loads of defenders around you. You can charge it just like in FIFA2002 or WC2002 altough there's no little meter or bar.
You can score in a million ways, even a soft touch will hit the net if you send the keeper the wrong way. Distance shots are finally succesfull too and the same for free kicks.
I think the game is really great.
It has great graphics, you will be able to edit it and then have a blast playing it.
There's definately room for improvement, the games not perfect but it's a really solid game this year.
I've played PES too, and it's a great game, really playable, but I like FIFA2003 better, it has more detail IMO and a lot of depth IF you give it a chance.
genesis 11-10-2002, 06:03:AM At least it's better than the rest of the FIFA series, especially the poorest FIFA2002.
Wait for the full version, hoping the bugs will be solved.

Liquid_Corpse 11-10-2002, 01:12:PM All these kind of threads should be reported and removed. They just make people flame and express their unlimited hate for FIFA 2003 in the FIFA 2003 Forum. Flames are met with flames.
Remove it, stop these idiot threads! "Is the game good?", "Who really likes the game?", "FIFA vs. PES/ISS or whatever", "I hate this game", "I'm not gonna buy FIFA 2003", "When is the game coming out?", "When is Duke Nukem Forever and Team Fortress 2 coming?", "Why doesn't my family love me?", "Why is my penis below the avarege size?". STOP starting these threads, you know they are just gonna get a lot of people upset and start flaming.
Ok, done with my flaming, sorry guys :)

mcclaine71 12-10-2002, 03:18:AM winning eleven it's for kids........Fifa it's for men.
it's that simple.
i remember back to the time when i did know WE, and every time i went to a forum like this one, i found someone talking about WE like it was heaven.
i bought it, thinking "wow, know i'm gonna know what does guys were talking about'. it was pure ****. plain and boring. and arcade football game.
fifa rules in every way. graphics and moves are 200% more realistics than any other football game.
if i wanna make funny moves, i go to the circus (or maybe play WE). this is football, ok?
as far as Fifa 2003, i'm dissapointed because now it looks like WE.
I'm telling this after only 10 plays of the demo.
i didn't like the cameras, neither how the players moves.
and also, on my computer runs very slow, which didn't happen with any other game.
i have a GeForce 2, with PIII 850, 512 ram, maybe i'm behind of what the game needs, but Fifa2002WC plays wonderfully.
anyway, just a thought
max211 12-10-2002, 05:04:AM I like the new Fifa. Sometimes the CPU plays brilliantly, sometimes they sucks. I thought I've changed the difficulty setting, but no! It's just the varieties of the game. Its great! :rockman:

Don always come here and say how PES is good and FIFA is suck....blah blah...blah, this is not the word we want to listen.
you can said the disadvantage or the poor thing of FIFA but don go and compare it with PES!
senght 13-10-2002, 01:51:AM As far as Im concerned, I dun like the new gameplay....Its too slugish and EA make it to be "too realistic" get wad I mean....I commend their effort to hire Giggs, carlos and davids for motion capture which make it to be realistic but this affects the overall gameplay negatively, so ill go back to my consoles.....

This is exactly what I was telling Jules. Read thru the series of posts and tell me who drew first blood on iss/pes? The thread was going fine until someone had to mention iss/pes, and mind you that person is a FIFA fan. Nothing wrong with praising this game, but that first comparison was made. Han just responded to it. So PESers don't come in here and do the compare. You guys first say that it is better and ofcourse people are going to come up with their opinions.
Again, if you dont' want PES discussed in this form, don't mention it, if you mention it, then don't blame others that do. It's simple really.
