Batistuta wants to speak English (Allsport)
10/11/2002. Argentine striker Gabriel Batistuta plans to finish his illustrious playing career in England.

The former Fiorentina star is currently enduring a tough time with Roma and is likely to be moved on at the end of the season, although he still has 18-months left to run on his contract with the Rome giants.

The 33-year-old told the Corriere dello Sport: "I don't know if will be in the next year or two, but I will go to play in England.

"With (Chelsea manager Claudio) Ranieri? I don't know, I want to go there to speak English and if I played for him I would only speak Italian all the time."

Well I dont think Batistuta is really that loyal and I think the English managers would see this and they would probably rather someone who is more settled.

He more than likely go to a team that is big ala Man u, Arsenal, Liverpool if a guy like his stature (A known name) he wouldnt wanna waste his time playing for WBA or Birmingham he wants to finish a winner and not a relegator

I think Man Utd is the first to get him as they lack of striker!! Van Nistelrooy+ Batistuta, it is amazing!!

Please don't make me laugh, manu, arsenal or Liverpool will not sign Batigoal, but the likes of spurs, Chelsea, West ham will.

Batistuta should go to England. Maybe it's better if he goes to Fulham.

Not Loyal? How long was he at Fiorentina? Even when they were just a mediocre team and he and Rui Costa were the only great players they had, he stayed. I can't think of many player that are AS LOYAL as Gabriel...

I completely agree about his loyalty. He was with Fiorentina for years and even stuck by them when Fiorentina were relegated to Div 2.

Maybe Darlington will now try to sign him, seeing as they have just lost Asprilla.

I think Fulham would be an ideal place for Batistuta to go, get some good service from Inamoto and play alongside Saha et al, I wouldn't mind seeing that move..

With Batistuta, he left them in 1999 or 2000 (?) because he wanted more wages and he wasnt willing to stay at the club. You can call him loyal whatever but in recent years hes been unsettled

I think Gabriel should go to Boca, because i heard in an interview that he wanted to spend the last year of his career in Boca, since it was his favorite team! But maybe they won't pay what he wants!;)

Up your arse sandgroper..:p

We don't really need him - Di Canio, Kanouté and Defoe is as good a strike force as we need. Now Alessandro Nesta, on the other hand..:D
