i own a pc and play fifa 2000 on it. which i hate. i also own a dreamcast, and since i live in the US i'm still eagerly awaiting the first soccer game. striker pro (uefa striker to the UK people) is coming out mid january and i was wondering how good of a soccer game it is. i'v downloaded movies and screen shots from ign.com and it looks great but i would like to hear impressions from actual soccer fanatics instead of some nerdy guy who spends all his time playing pointless roll-playing games, and only reviewed the game because he drew the short straw.
please enlighten me! thanks,
RoB
I have UEFA striker for the playstation and its not too bad a game.
It can be pretty difficult to play when you start to increase the difficulty levels.
It has the best training section of any playstation soccer games and to gain access to other competitions you have to attain pre determined levels of skill in the training section.
As far as gameplay goes it is pretty good. You have to pass accurately, the ball doesnt automatically go to the feet of the reciever, you sometimes will over run the ball if you are not careful. The commentary isnt the greatest and the only major complaint with the gameplay is that when a ball bounces off a goalkeeper, player or goalposts it seems to rebound even faster than the first shot. Scoring from headers etc requires timing. If you hit the header button too early you jump to soon or if you do it too late you miss the ball completely.
I dont think as yet there are many soccer games out for the dreamcast but this one isnt too bad. Its not perfect but its not a dog either.

I have Uefa Striker for the Dreamcast and I agree with what ZZUB says about it...
but it is way better than Fifa 2K, it may not have all the leagues etc, but when it comes to gameplay there is no comparison.
Anyways my vote goes to Uefa Striker for PSX or DC or THIS IS FOOTBALL for PSX.
Both brilliant games.
