damn it - Australia won. Ireland buckled after half time.
Ray Cosgrove would have made a difference if he was playing.

Great match - hey Sean - did you get Ger and Eddie McGuire commentating yours?

If so I apologise for that over-the-top tosser, he was a disgrace compared to Ger's understated but insightful commentary. Eddie topped it all off by referring to 'Our prayers are in Dili now'. Great, mate! But a bomb went off in Bali ie Indonesia, not Dili ie East Timor - they are separate countries..

But he's also host of the AFL footy show, and president of the Collingwood Football Club. He was first football commentator, 2nd gameshow host, so really its not that funny :p

Yeh - we had the Irish and Aussie commentator.

On the violence thing - Ireland can cope with the violence, but the flip side is we are smaller than the Aussies.

I hope to get tickets for the next match at Croke Park - come on Ireland. Come on GAA. Watch out for Ray Cosgrove - class finisher!

BTW - the Irish goalie is ****e, it should be Stephen Cluxton of Dublin!!!

I love this game!

(sings) 1 Nil to Australia! 1 Nil to Australia!

For those of you who bag it...

Australian Rules football is played professionally ONLY in Australia
Gaelic football is played PROPERLY ONLY in Ireland (there's some minor leagues of the sport here in Australia)

So why not have an international sport combining the two sports... considering that the only major difference is that the Irish use a round ball and we use an OBLONG shaped ball!

your wrong on both counts many countrys other than Australia play AFL but not professionally look up the word Kangaroo on askjeeves.com search engine and youll see what I mean........

Also there are plenty of diferences (and you obviously havent seen a game of International roles) the field in Gaelic football is rectangular and have stadiums fitted accordingly - Ozzie Rules is ofcourse played on an oval - the balls as you mentioned - There are goals (like in Soccer underneath the 6 pionts) their goals are obviously diferent from ours - there are no marks in Gaelic football - infact I read 100+ difference between both games from the equipment to the rules - to say that they are similar sorry to disappoint you but your really really wrong :kader:
