View Full Version : [R] Austria-Holland
Holland won 0-3 in a great match, in particular the first half.
Especially the first goal was awesome!
Half time was 0-3
The second half was still good, but Holland missed some very good chances to make it 0-4 or 0-5
I think it was one of Holland's better matches in the last 5 year :)
ricardo 17-10-2002, 11:50:AM Seedorf, Cocu and Makaay made the goals
playmate 17-10-2002, 11:51:AM congrats holland ! i missed ruud in the World Cup.....:(
Perles 17-10-2002, 11:56:AM ruud was not missed in this game, they didn't have any penalties for him :D
playmate 17-10-2002, 11:59:AM the european champs give ruud a chance to prove his ability on the international stage. anyway he's scoring freely in the champion's league from open play.......:p
bertkamp16 17-10-2002, 12:09:PM Go Holland!:)
Hendrik 17-10-2002, 12:36:PM I get the feeling I am the only person on this board who didnīt miss Holland in the world cup...

:D
I am afraid there is no need to make websites like "Holland ist nicht dabei" :D
But Germany got an awesome win vs Faroer Islands :D Impressive!! ;)

But perhaps it is better if Holland will go to euro - so we will play probably against each other...
btw. I think there is a friendly game in the next month, right?

ain't nistelroach injured?
Larry 17-10-2002, 05:53:PM Cool, Holland won. We should have won the Euro :(
Silencer 17-10-2002, 10:39:PM A friendly against Germany, bye bye Germany cause the way our countrymen play right now and like they did against Austria there is NO WAY IN H*LL that Germany will win this one.
I allso hope for their sake that they won't have to play against us in Portugal cause when we finally get there........Holland will go all the way man :rockman: :hump:
Nistelgoal 17-10-2002, 11:38:PM One swallow don't make a summer
Netherland played good in the first half, better than I've ever seen with v.Gaal. But don't take any conclusions about this, Austria was bad, very bad. The only thing we have to do is win against Tsjechie, other matches we will win, the only question is how much goals we will make
:mrpimp:

We have two swallows :D
Belarus and Austria.
But I agree, the match against the Chech Republic is the key-match. That one will not be easy, because they like to play on the break against attacking teams, so I am sure they fancy themselfs to win against us....
zul-aid 18-10-2002, 12:56:AM being an avid Feyenoord fan i have to say one thing:
HOLLAND WILL BE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE IN 2004 MARK MY WORDS
(if they dont i WILL post a semi naked picture of my FAT body)
just an extra incentive
FerdyKorp 18-10-2002, 01:03:AM YES THEY REALLY WILL
especially when Rafael van der Vaart comes back!!!
yim87 18-10-2002, 01:09:AM faroe islands will then be champions..;)
Quino=Ledge 18-10-2002, 01:14:AM Sorry but England will win it .
Yeah, right, England did very well to draw 2-2 :D , so if they go on that way they will be champions for sure
You know guys, the truth of today will not necessary be the truth of tomorrow. It's a bit too early to say which country will be European Champion , it's a long way to go till Portugal 2004 !
But sure Holland is one of the favorites. I still don't understand how they missed the WC 2002 ! There are such great players in this team. But maybe there was no real friendship among them .
No team spirit !
I also think that Van Gaal was not a so good trainer. The man is way too arrogant !
When I was a kid I used to watch on TV the great Ajax of Cruyff, Neeskens, Krol and company. That was a dream team and since that time I am a fan of the Dutch football. And I think that the new generation is very strong but they will have to fight a lot ,to be champions. Because there are IMO ,at least 6 or 7 teams that are equally so good in Europe.
Anyway, go Holland and good luck Cheers JM
Quino=Ledge 18-10-2002, 02:09:AM Han could you please remind me what round Holland got to in the world cup?.

Although I don't live in the past, I will tell you :D
I enjoyed Korea and all the fuzz about disallowed goals and I enjoyed the bragging talk from countries who felt they would become World Champion, only to go out because the were outclassed by Brazil ;)
That particular coutry (guess, guess :D ) ALWAYS think they become champion and when that doesn't happen they always find a scape-goat.. in '98 it was Beckham and this year Seaman...
So, to summarize, I enjoyed the World-cup :D
But again, I do live in the present time and not in the past.
In future wil PROBABLY will do well but I don't say we will win Euro 2004, although Holland has more reason to think so as England ;)
windtalker 18-10-2002, 02:40:AM Holland rocks !!:rockman: I hope Holland can win Chech Rep.
Quino=Ledge 18-10-2002, 02:47:AM Why do holland have more reason to think so than England. The last time the 2 teams played they drew.Remember that peach from Vassel.England have a young squad and in 2 years time with more experience i think they will do very well and will win either the Euro champs 2004 or the world cup 2006.There was no excuse in japan Brazil were by far the best team and after watching their first game against Turkey i knew tthat they were going to win it.

England - Holland 0-2 ;)
About their chances in 2004... That's exactly what I said: The English ALWAYS think they will be champions. :)
No offense tho... Succes!
Mulder 18-10-2002, 04:53:AM GO! HOLLAND GO!
What Holland need to do now is to pratice their penalty kicks,,
So hurt to see them bowing out in each tournament by penalty shootout
We improve on those kicks :)
We now have the following reliable penalty-takers:
Ruud van Nistelrooy
Pierre van Hooijdonk
Frank de Boer
Rafael van der Vaart
Robin van Persie
The last two are very young, but blessed with an almost perfect kick and strong nerves :)
We in Holland got this penalty-topic for a long time after going out in Euro 2000 and things defenitly improved.

If only you were da coach of da team,,,
Remember Paul Bosvelt and Jaap Stam,,,during EURO 2000..
They shouldn't on the list to take da spot kicks...
you can tell from their face their confidence level,,,,,
I afraid the last 2 players you mentioned dun have dat mentality to take up such a huge responsibility in front of a 40000 or 60000 oranje crowd expecting a ball at the back of da net,,,,
FerdyKorp 19-10-2002, 03:36:AM I think that Holland doesnt need to take penaltys on the next Euro 2004 beceause they will win everything :p

I remember you to this if it is EURO 2004 :)
Don't forget they will be two years older then and because of the mega-talent they are (really!) I have all confidence in them :)
But Ferdy may be right; maybe we don't need them ;)
