The race that stops a nation (well Australia anyway) will be raced on the first Tuesday of November (5th) hopefully some Aussies will get behind the wagon but not spend much this tread is for peoples memory of the Cup from Sub Zero to Etheral to Might and Power to that chick you saw in the tight red dress on McKinnnion Stakes day....... here is the place

Today the biggest lead up race the Caulfield Cup was won by
Northerly (second best mare behind NZer Sunline)

West Australian champion Northerly today carried the biggest weight in more than 20 years to a famous victory in the Group One $2.5 million Caulfield Cup.

Fred Kersley's star six-year-old, starting favourite and ridden to perfection by Greg Childs, lumped 58kg to a long neck win over Fields Of Omagh.

Sydney mare Republic Lass finished third, three-quarters of a length away.

It was Northerly's 16th win in 26 starts and took his prizemoney tally past $5.8 million.

With about a fortnight away the field will be chosen shortly and horses will be named in a couple of days so i hope to see some tips posted - Goodluck

Hail and/ or Distinctly Secret are the whispers i am hearing at the moment. Early days yet though...
And all together now:
"you are my Sunline, my only Sunline,
aussies keep paying,
to see you win,
they try and claim you,
as one of their few,
but they'll never take
our Sunline away"

I saw her up close earlier this year on her first run of the season and she was BEAUTIFUL. Anyway, I am getting a bit carried away here, bad rep. Kiwis and animals etc..etc..
