There have been probably hundreds of people holding on for the POTD, and I think its only fair that you know what the state of play is at the moment.
Patch Of The Day was always intended to be released by Christmas. As far as I know, the patch is now complete, as I have completed my to-do list and Chris has finished his. However, Chris has gone missing in the past couple of days, or, rather, he hasn't been online. He has not responded to any EMail, and I've not seen him on IRC or ICQ.
Chris is the main man in charge of the ESP/POTD series, and without him we cannot launch the patch. If Chris were to come online today, the patch could be out tomorrow, or even this evening. Until then though, the release is suspended indefinitely. I apologise to everyone who has been waiting for it, but unless Chris magically reappears, it won't be out for Xmas. My best guess is that he's had a PC meltdown or something that is keeping him offline, and if this is the case then the delay might be longer, as everything he has done so far is on that disk. At the moment, we'll have to just sit tight and wait.
