View Full Version : PES2!I ve bought it !
akaidai 20-10-2002, 12:42:PM yes!i ve got the game and i been playing for a couple of hours, the name of club team is the same as WE6-eg.Aragon-manchester,london-arsenal etc.u can change the club name in edit mode and some got commentary example manchester.in game commentary is ok except it sounded no better than ISS2.ball is like baloon as nickclubman say.some of the faces are not accurate Thierry Henry for example.overall gameplay is good.
stuie2k 20-10-2002, 01:05:PM Well that more or less confirms that the Kalisto release is the final one. I was actually going to buy this game even though I have the kal version but now im not going to bother as its pretty crap and annoying. The stupid team names has done enough to put me off without some annoying gameplay aspects......Roll on WE6FE
Is the game (too) fast, like the Kallisto rip?
In other words: can it be another one?
Is Ronaldo at Real Madrid for instance?
akaidai 20-10-2002, 09:16:PM no!ronaldo is not in Navara!(madrid)and so does Ravoldi(rivaldo)-dennis bergkemp is orange+++!TIF2003 transfer update is accurate than PES2!-what is going on Konami?very frustrating indeed!
hitmanuk2k 20-10-2002, 10:39:PM who f*cking cares that some players are not at the right clubs, and who f*cking cares that team names are wrong.... i mean for christ sake we have a decent edit mode at last so it it will take u all of an hour to update everything!

To use the same way of talking:
You are probably too f*cking stupid to understand that it can be an indication which version it is

Why in gods name would I want to go and spend the best part of £40 on a game which isnt as good as the previous on...well ok the JAP vesrion. And why should I edit it...if they release a game in OCT I expect it to be up to date to OCT not ****ing last March.
And OK you can edit the team names also but the commentator will still shout the stupid names like ****ing Europort......whats that all about. I mean Manchester United= Aragon why didnt they call them The Reds of even Man U they could have got away with that. And all this Oranges bull****. Why didint they just mispel the name a little like they used to??
PS Ill take all this back if its differnet on the FINAL version and I will buy it. But it does sound like people hav the FINAL already inc. me
simakperrce 21-10-2002, 12:53:AM i don't get it why KCET is changing the (already wrong) names every release.. i mean, in ISS2 Juventus was called "Torino", right? and in ISS1 (if i remember correctly) most players had only one, tops two, letters swapped from their original name ("R.Corlos"). with subsequent releases the names (of the unlicenced) players got more garbled (RobertoLarcos) resulting in an even longer, more tedious and annoying editing process.. why?
i start to think that KCET is spending more money on the time their programmers waste on inventing fancy wrong names than they would on a full FIFPro licence in the first place...
sure, spending the first 48 hours after getting the latest game on editing has always been a charming part of the ISS/PES experience.... but enough!
get a fcuking licence you stingy basturds! you've made tons of dough last/this year. for fcuk's sake!!

I 've heard from a salesman in a gameshop, who has the game, that you also can change the names the commentator uses.
It seems there is a pritty large list of normal names the commentator can pronounce, so the most famous names will be there I think...
stuie2k 21-10-2002, 02:15:AM Ive seen the option to switch on players names (commentry)but I cant find any list. Ill have to look through the edit mode
I PES 1 it was in the player name edit, but no idea of course about a version I don't own.... :)
MisterX_K 21-10-2002, 04:02:AM 1st: some guy on the soccergamesonline-boards says he played the retail version and it has all the latest transfers incl. ronaldo on Madrid etc.
2nd: in the edit mode you have an option which allows you to swap the players.
3rd: stuie, you can change the call names of the club teams, e.g. Europort=Liverpool.
win a Konami-Umbro cup with a club team and you ll get that option in the Master League Teams edit menu. the ??? will disappear there and you can change all the wrong call names of the teams with the cities they play in. even Chelsea has the call name "chelsea" and some more teams as well.
4th: i strongly believe that the Kalisto release is a beta version.
we will all see a roster-updated game next friday, for sure cos someone on another board has had a call with some guy from the konami hotline and that guy told him that it will have accurate rosters.
enough for now and akaidai, pls check the intro movie of your game and tell us which it is and also the screens before the movie. are there still the JLA logo and the adidas logo?
and dont invent something cos i know which screens are the real screens ;) i just want you to prove you have the retail version which i highly doubt. prove me wrong and i ll take back everything i said.
stuie2k 21-10-2002, 05:53:AM Heh Mister X Ive just read that today to. Apparently you can edit most things and all the squads are up to date and even the way the game plays is different. There is even talk that the DEMO version is August code as someone has e-mailed Konami.
I hope this is true.......fingers crossed

Where did you read this? There's always a lot of 'official' stuff floating about, even though the real official source, Konami, barely release any info at all. Do they even have a marketing department?
stuie2k 21-10-2002, 06:58:AM I think I got it off evo-web.co.uk or else a link from there. Look on the site tonight because apparently a review of the final game will be posted on the forums.
A guy who said he had read the review said to everyone do not panic the Final will be superb........I still await with baited breath

Yep i said it would be strange that they make the game into dvd, and still with so few imrpovments ( judging from you guys impresions)
I will not listen to any of you guys impressions fro mthe game anymore ;), will make my judgment from the final version when i got it:p
forssellsfan 21-10-2002, 07:49:AM go to www.cpfc.org then click on forums then computer and video games, click then on the pro evo 2 topic and theres a guy on there who has the final version and explains nearly everything you need to know about the game.
Has this guy proven he has the final version and not the Kalisto RIP. For example a picture of the DVD.

Sounds pretty nifty actually, hope the lad is right. If the gameplay is like in WE6JL, PES2 will indeed be a superb title:
