night 24-10-2002, 11:03:AM Good news : Forlan still didnt score...:kader:
olypiakos didnt deserve those 2 goals after the poorest UCL performance of all time... but a win is a win... :D
MikeM 24-10-2002, 12:39:PM After dominating like we did for 70 odd minutes, it would have been pretty much unforgivable if we'd have dropped points. The substitutions (Fortune - Giggs, Chadwick - Beckham) left us in a precarious position at 2-1 and 2-2 and Fortune looked rusty. Another thing I noticed is that poor old Diego Forlan just can't cope at our level. I'd love to see him do well coz I like him, but I don't think that it's helping us to have him start matches at the moment, we need to have our best goalscorers out on the pitch at the start, we can't keep relying on last minute goals all the time. On a positive note, Seba Veron was excellent tonight.
and a win is a win.
Mike.
Perles 24-10-2002, 01:24:PM well-deserved
scholes has become mr. clutch, epl winner last week, set up owen for the winner in slovakia, now in greece he saves the points:rockman:
ryan_goal 24-10-2002, 01:46:PM Why is Veron so impressive when playing in Europe campaign but in EPL?? Anyone knows?
Besides, i think Forlan will get his goal for Man Utd soon since i think he will have at least 2 starting-lineup chances in the rest 2 of the group game.(H)

Roy Keane  ;) :o
rahulmvora 24-10-2002, 08:23:PM veron was v.impressive in the match . scholes is in superb form and forlan is just the opposite . being a striker he cant score . this is ridiculous .he has wasted so many chances of scoring before . i think man utd should buy a super striker next season and throw him out of the team IMO .
windtalker 25-10-2002, 02:00:AM Wahay ! :) Veron is really having a great season for Manutd now ! :) He made some nice dribbling before scoring. :)
4 wins out of four 4 ! Woohooo!
ohh a good win for manchester!
awesome goals!
playmate 25-10-2002, 11:30:AM why seba plays better in europe?
i think in europe he gets a bit more time and space(which all skilful players enjoy) with the ball in his feet. not as much as olympiakos gave us for 70 min last night however...:D
why forlan doesn't score?
when he starts scoring he'll only score hattricks.that's what he plans. he's practising that with the reserves. recently got 4 goals in one such game. but u see it takes a bit more time to learn scoring hattricks ...:p
so we have to wait 4 some more time....... maybe not infinite amount of time......
and about the game only two words ...'job done !'
man united forever 25-10-2002, 05:06:PM United played fantastic football. Some of the passing and movement was sublime and there should have been more goals. All the midfielders were magnificent, with Veron and Scholes a class apart. Forlan played well, too. He had a good chance to score but he fluffed it. Still, he is creating chances and he also played well for the team, at times causing the defence problems with his pace and setting up Scholes for a scoring opportunity which he almost buried. Why can't they play like this in the Premiership? I know they get closed down faster in the EPL, but that game against Fulham was terrible. United showed on Thursday how classy they really are, and more play like that in the Premier League will really go a long way towards regaining the Premiership Crown.
rhizome17 25-10-2002, 09:33:PM But how much do United REALLY care about the Epl, getting a top 4 finish is enough to get into the champs league, which is where the real money is, and that is all that matters to a plc. And if they keep playing well in the Champs League, the worlds eyes are on them more, the individual skills get to be showcased, and then it is only one more step to the european league, i.e. the break from domestic competition that many clubs are ready to make. I really think that United actually have a good chance in the Champs League this season, the final being at Old Trafford must be an inventive. i just can't see them obsessing as much as teams like Liverpool and Arsenal about winning domestic honours.
monkee 26-10-2002, 12:13:AM The defending fell asleep for 10mins, other than that a game that Man Utd dominated. Forlan's play impresses me but he can't get that goal, but he puts everything into every game I've seen him play.
Good game though. Hopefully we'll start getting out of this injury crisis soon.
Djordjevic has 4 goals in the CL now ... pretty good :D :)
