PES2 is not out in Australia yet, and I was wondering if one of you guys such as Han who already has it could answer a question for me.
A recent review of the game contained a mumbled passage which indicated that it was now possible to make a player run in any direction with the ball (Full 360 degree control) with the left analogue stick, as opposed to the previous 16 direction limitation which was present in last year's PES game. Is this the case or is directional control still limited when dribbling with the ball?

Sorry if the question is a little long-winded, but I want to be clear about what I mean as this has been a major issue for me in the past as far as gameplay goes. Thanks. ;)

no, unfortunately this isn't the case. it's basically still the same 45,90,135,180 degree thing as in PES.

however, the motions of the players are so much smoother now plus they've made dribbling easier and more responsiv this time. ad to that the fact that the ball is now going all over the field (often into empty space) the motion model feels actually quite "analog", even though technically it isn't.

from the posts i have read from you i guess we have quite similar preferences/dislikes, so i am almost sure you'll like it.

At certain speeds you can run in 16 directions. That is R1 full out sprint. Everythign else is still 8. I read it too and I dont' know what he was mouthing about running in any direction, cos it ain't happened to me yet.
