No not the one Chill pointed out, thats small potatoes.

The big ones below...

Just stand still in a match (even on WC) and you guessed it NO ONE will challenge you. You could theoretically go 1-0 up and then just get the ball and stand still and no-one will try to get the ball. REALLY BIG MESS UP.

If this isn't fixed in XBOX version I will cry.

talk about small potatoes... i'd say your problem is microscopic potatoes;)

Who really cares about that. why would you ever stand still that long in match anyway?? It's a bit worse when it's graphic problems...
But yeah, i can understand your frustration. EA has done a poor job not testing it, and things like this should not occur.
But c'mon, that's something we can live with, innit?:D

This is a HUGE problem. I'm not trying to be all high and mighty but answer me this.

How can you have a tense match when all you have to do is stand still?? If you really need a win and are 1-0 up your not going to go; "ah well I'll carry on as normal and give them a chance cos EA fxxked up"

This is ridiculous and we shouldn't have to put up with bugs like this. Its basic play testing.

As you can tell I'm not happy.

Have you ever gone 1-0 up and left it at that, as you describe? You're certainly getting your money's worth then! I'd much rather complain about the screen-freeze in season mode.

Alez salut maintenant...

It isn't that big a deal, but it doesn't always happen, it depends on the score and time, etc.

We all new about this, it was in the interviews of the webmasters that went to Vancouver to test the game....EA admitted there at the time...but seriously, does it bother you that much? Just keep moving most of the time and you will never see it!!!!!!

No. Because no other football game has given me the option.

Football games make you carry on until the 90th minute to fight out your win.

However in FIFA 2003 you can just go 1-0 up, get the ball, leave the room to make a cup of tea (or other equally satifying confectionary) and come back with no change in score. PANTS PANTS PANTS.

And Nick I thought you knew better. You seem to talk sense most of the time. Surely you see this is a major problem.

PS. Any news on screen freeze fixed for XBOX?

What's the fun in playing fifa if ur just gonna stand there because you scored a goal. You play fifa because of the challenge and the desire to win a fair and even match, right? my point is: why would you even stop in an actionpacked match?!:kader: The whole purpose of the game is scoring goals, innit? i just don't understand why you're so upset?

Yeah, just keep on moving and play the ball and you won't see that problem again.. Simple as that!
Stevie_g: has the game arrived in Norway yet?

Anelka, no one cares about this Stand still thing... it happened in previous version and why would you want to stand still regardless if they tackled u or not. I'm sure ea will fix it.. they did alot just to gain back some gameplay ground anyway. Standing around isnt a issue since no one should be just standing anyway.

PS. It will be like that in ALL versions. Xbox version will be no different.

:(

This will be the first fifa game I've bought and I can't believe the series has such a problem.

Come on people, wake up...

These kinds of arguments like in previous Fifa versions " You know that if you go dribbling everybody and get to the byline, and cross the ball, keep hitting D and ther you go... A spetacular bycicle kick goal everytime... If you donīt like scoring that way just dont do it " or " You know that if you stop with the ball, no one is going to challenge you, so if you score a goal you can win a game, just standing still.. so if you want a fair game donīt do it" kind of thing is an evident proof of how the game is sh*te or at least that it is far far away from being anything related to simulation...

Cheers

in FIfa 2002, if u ststood still,, the player automatically went into shiled mode, if anyone attacked him,, he would simply shield it, also a slide tackle or repetitve tackling wud retreive the ball. but most of the fifas had that problem, u cud play an entire game and win with hardly pressing a button.

What wud really shock u is if u simply do nothing when the opposition has the ball/ In most FIFA series,, you'd find the computer controlling the players and putting them in good intercepting poistions. the computer really helps you a lot there, its almost like, when u take control, your defence is easier to be broken by the computer, cause you play different from it and it controls the other 10players, the direction u move in wud not is ounlikely to e the one ti wud have gone.just leave it and see you players move into position easily.

Thankyou.

People defending this fault are fooling only themselves.

In the PC version on World Class (& I believe Pro difficulty) if you stand still with the ball in your own end the computer will wait 3 or 4 seconds and then it will rush you to try and tackle you - that's pretty good actually because it's what u'd expect in real life, the opposing forwards won't always kamikaze-style rush at you but if you stand there like a dunce with the ball at your feet for too long they'll come and take it off you.

lol, who would want to stand still in a game after scoring just to keep the win? The game isnt THAT hard. And who is stupid enough to do that?

That s what happens also in the demo..maybe is a psx2 bug then. that's pretty good actually because it's what u'd expect in real life, the opposing forwards won't always kamikaze-style rush at you ... Or maybe he's not playing on a high enough difficulty level.

Indeed, that is a problem with that game. Of course that title still does dozens of things better and more realistically than Fifa 2K3 but that is another topic for another thread for another forum.
