Probably xbox version of fifa 2003 something that playstion2 version of fifa 2003 hasn`t got.

I have played both versions. The PS2 version was played extensively at a private session with EB thanks to my website links and I currently own the Xbox version.

Now I work for a mulit-platform website so therefore my review has to be based on fact rather than fanboyism.

Bottom line: Xbox version is better, not by a long shot but definately better.

The Xbox version does not have the slow down problems that the PS2 version as and the graphics are slightly better, it is noticable if you look hard enough but not exactly an earth shattering difference.

Sound is where the Xbox kills the PS2 version, the PS2 version does not support dolby in general play (only FMV) where as the Xbox version has it running through the whole game. A far more enjoyable experience.

Now the Gamecube version, well I don't know what went wrong. The hardware is far better than the PS2 version and not far behind the Xbox, but FIFA on the GCN is worse than the PS2 version.

If I had to rate them based on console comparison (you can't really compare with PC because people have different specs):

Xbox: 92%
PS2: 87%
GCN: 76%

Those scores are based soley on the console output for the game rather than the game itself.

The controllers are crap, the games for PS2 are far superior, and XBox is made by the worst company in America. The only good game for the Box is Halo, and that's only because Bungie knows what they're doing. Sorry my friend Nick, but that's just the way it is...

Is the GC version REALLY that bad???? I have a PS2 and am getting a GC soon, and was gonna get FIFA 2003 for the GC, cos it is superior with the specs, but is the PS2 version really that better? if so, what makes the GC version so inferior?

U wish man, xbox is far superior than any other console, better graphics, better sound, there's a new controller which is controller s much smaller, the only reason ps2 has better games is because it has been on the market more time than the xbox and companies makes more games for the ps2 because STUPID ppl like ps2 owners think ps2 is better and buys it so companies get more $$$$. Look, as far as generally goes, you are wrong.

Xbox is the most powerful machine yes, but the games are ****e.

Lets compare:

XBox: Halo (which I find crap anyway), erm and..?
Gamecube: Mario Sunshine, Super Monkey Ball, Mario bros. Melee
, Resi Evil,I could go on all day
PS2: PES (thats the big difference), The Getaway, Gran Turismo, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill etc etc

It's the games that matter - not the power. PES 2 beats FIFA 2003, not by as massive a margin as last time, but it still does - period.

Oh the irony. Really, all you gotta do is substitute 'xbox' for 'PES', and 'ps2 and GC' for 'FIFA', and then you are talking sense.

Erm...... there must be close to a 100 games out on the Xbox now climbing to 150 by xmas, far more than the same time in the PS2 release.

The Xbox has the best specs of any current gaming console, which is fact.

The number of games available will be a mute point too. Both consoles have exclusive games on them, it's a shame that we couldn't see PES2 running on XBox, but that's the same argument about it not being on PC.

It all comes down to personal choice really. I was really impressed with what game developers squeezed out of the PS1 before it's replacement. Just imagine the great future games for the PS2 and XBox when developers push them to their limits.

But anyway...console debates are useless. They accomplish about as much as a FIFA/PES argument. Everyone just gets pissed and hates each other. I don't want to start by having everyone hating me...and on a side note from my earlier post...can someone PLEASE get me a screenshot of Roque Santa Cruz?

In any case, the Xbox is a solid choice for those in Region 1 (NTSC), since PES and PES2 are dedicated to Sony consoles AND EA Sports decided to support the Xbox so completely...

With games like Metal Gear (conversion) coming to Xbox, and experiences like FIFA certain to maximize its capabilities, noone can really be criticized for owning an Xbox , now can they?
