The Netherlands when they play 4-4-2

GK: Van Der Sar
RB: Reiziger
RCB: Stam
LCB: F. De Boer
LB: Bogarde

No place for Phillip Cocu, I just wouldn't know where to put him.

i personallay think that Cocu is a versatile player that has to be needed. Bergkamp can score goals and set up goals, so i put him as the support striker so Hasselbaink can play.

Holland for the Euro 2000

And, just for kicks, here a hypothetical USSR team (if it still existed today):

GK - Stauce (Duisburg, Germany)
LB - Kaladze (Dynamo K, Ukraine)
SW - Nikiforov (PSV, Holland)
RB - Luzhny (Arsenal, England)
LM - Tikhonov (Spartak M, Russia)
CM - Smertin (Loko M, Russia)
RM - Karpin (Celta Vigo, Spain)
AM - Mostovoy (Celta Vigo, Spain)
ST - Shevchenko (AC Milan, Italy)
ST - Arveladze (Ajax, Holland)
ST - Panov (Zenit, Russia)

sub team:

GK - Shovkovsky (Dynamo K, Ukraine)
LB - Yanovsky (PSG, France)
SW - Vaschuk (Dynamo K, Ukraine)
RB - Gurenko (Roma, Italy)
DM - Onopko (Oviedo, Spain)
LM - Khokhlov (PSV, Holland)
RM - Kanchelskis (Rangers, Scotland)
AM - Kinkladze (Derby County, England)
ST - Rebrov (Dynamo K, Ukraine)
ST - Kolyvanov (Bologna, Italy)
ST - Demetradze (Alania, Russia)

Now, this team would kick some serious ass...

JUST FOR FUN;WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS
EX-YUGO TEAM IF THEY STAYED TOGETHER?

1.LADIC (DINAMO ZAGREB)
2.MIRKOVIC (JUVENTUS)
3.JARNI (REAL MADRID)
4.MIHAJLOVIC (LAZIO)
5.STIMAC (WEST HAM)
6.JUGOVIC (INTER MILAN)
7.STANKOVIC (LAZIO)
8.BOBAN (MILANO)
9.SUKER (ARSENAL)

11.MIJATOVIC (FIORENTINA)

I THINK THESE TEAM COULD EASILY BECOME WORLD

The one i couldn`t name in Australia was Paul Okon. Although Bosnich had a great game yesterday it brought back memmories of when i rated him as the best keeper in the world, he replaces Shwartzer.

King (Crappy Blue)
You can`t tell me that you really believe these three players don`t diserve to be there, come on.

NOOOOOOOO has Burley Gone?

I agree that Johnny's ex-yugo(+ a couple of
Slo, bosnian and Mac players) players team would
be World Cup holders

my team: Yugo is like Partizan said but just replace Milosevic with Kezman

DirkDiggler

I said that Burley had been traded in your "What do you think of Celtic" topic. He was sold to Derby for 3million.

The Netherlands 4-4-2

GK: Edwin Van der Sar
RB: Michael Reiziger
RCB: Jaar Stam
LCB: Frank De Boer
LB: Winston Bogarde
RM: Ronald De Boer
RCM: Phillip Cocu
LCM: Edgar Davids
LM: Marc Overmars
RF: Dennis Bergkamp
LF: Patrick Kluivert

Cocu back in the basis, playing at RCM. Ronald De Boer is not a right-half or right-winger I know, but he is the best right-footed midfielder the Dutch have I think. I think Winter is too slow, and Talan and Boussata did not impress, nor did Reuser in their rare appearences for The Netherlands a short while ago. I still think Bergkamp should stay a forward, not a shadow forward or provider.

The 2nd 11 would be

GK: Sander Westerveld(Liverpool)
- Better than De Goeij, Hesp or Moens
RB: Kees Van Wonderen(Feyenoord)
- One of the best defenders in Holland
RCB: Frank Verlaat(Ajax)
- Not an excellent defender, but who else?
LCB: Bert Konterman(Feyenoord)
- Another excellent Feyenoord defender
LB: Marc Van Hintum(Vitesse)
- Also not excellent, but where's Numan?
RM: Aron Winter(Ajax)
- Just not good enough for first 11 I think.
RCM: Clarence Seedorf(Real Madrid)
- Can be brilliant at this position
LCM: Giovanni Van Bronckhorst(Rangers)
- Has great potential, lethal left-foot
LM: Boudewijn Zenden(Barcelona)
- 2nd best L-winger, after Overmars
RF: Jerrel Hasselbaink(Atletico Madrid)
- I'm sure he'll get it right with Oranje too
LF: Ruud van Nistelrooij(PSV)
- A real challenger for Kluivert and Bergkamp

And to a lesser extend Michael Mols, Jean-Paul Van Gastel, Peter Van Vossen, Win Jonk and Roy Makaay should also be included.

M: Stankovic (lazio)
M: Stojkovic
M: Drulovic (Porto)
S: Milosevic (Real Zaragosa)
S: Kovacevic/Kezman (Juve/Partizan)

This is what it should be based on how they are playing right now. Ex-Yu team looks very formidable but I would start Zahovic at midfield.

Concerning the ex-yugo team I have to say that most people from these areas feel that it's probably the only thing that would be good if Yugoslavia stayed together.
Lets say for example that Croatia had Mijatovic, Stankovic, Mihajlovic, Drulovic, Milosevic for the world cup. That team would have won the Cup no doubt.
France was just very lucky in that semi-final to score the equaliser in the same minute. The first 11 in that case:
1. Ladic
2. Mihajlovic
3. Stimac
4. Simic/Mirkovic
5. Jarni
6. Stankovic/Asanovic
7. Boban/Jugovic
8. Stanic
9. Suker/Milosevic
10.Prosinecki/Drulovic
11.Mijatovic/Boksic/Kovacevic
