i have a geforce 4 MX 440 and XP, 384 ram or around that, p3 550, currently my fifa looks crap, my resolution is 1024 by 768

this is kinda a general and a fifa 2003 question,
here goes: is downloading the microsoft service pack worth it, i have heard bad things about it,

also how do you find out what your refresh or Hz rate is??

Also i was wondering if someone could sum up the settings they have on their graphics card i.e direct 3d, antialising and open GL settings, which settings are best for fifa????

and what are the best in game graphics settings for fifa?

Try updating to the latest drivers of your video card.
With the demo, the game was reseting my computer and the end of the first time, or when an instant replay start, and I was missing the numbers on the players and boards wasn't looking good, but as soon as I update to the latest drivers on my video card everything got fixed!!! :D

Hi, man i have the same ge force and i use this resolution: 1600x1200 and the game is excelent with refresh rate 100 hz, with latest drivers by nvidia

I have the same problem here...i have a pentium 4 1.8ghz, 512mbram rambus, geforce 4 mx 440...and the game is at 30Frates/s tooo deam slow!
i have got the latest driver from nvidia and nothing changed..

Jorge Paul what specific drive version have you got? i might try the same..i got the latest 40.72 for WinXP

Don't use the 40.72 nvidia drivers, they are buggy and still not confirmed (certified).

I installed them , got lots of probs, not only in Fifa, also in battlefield and UT2k3.

I rolled back to the 30.82 drivers, no problems at all !
Running smoothly, at high resolution.

the 40.72's are whql certified, i dont know what you are talking about.

im running the 41.03's and its great

well i have a geforce 2 mx 200 and its running great according to me. but i only have the demo.

i got a g force 2 mx 200 video car running windows 2000 pro and i got no problems i got the nvida 40.72 beta driver and it runs good it makes the game better hehehe alllllllllll goooooooodddddddddddddddddd:rockman: :) :mrpimp:

I have a geforce 4 MX and XP, 512 ram , aTHLON 1.4 ghZ and even I try 40.82 drivers I have problems in replays . When the camera gets near the players kits look crap misses parts of the sirt and sorts . Maybe is the graphics card settings . Does anybody have any suggestion????????????

its strange cause i got nba 2003 demo, the refresh rate was 28/sec(1600x1200)...but it was much more smoother then my 28/sec(at 1600x1200) from fifa..
i dont get it how can you get 100/sec.. you said you have a p3 550?

I use nVidia driver version 28.32. If i'm not mistaken its the one that can run best with fifa 2003(recommended by EA).

I'm not sure about Microsoft service pack 1 for XP coz i never try it. But i also heard something bad about it. :rolleyes:

For the resolution, to change your refresh rate, go to display properties-settings-advanced-monitor.
U may want to check the "hide modes this monitor cannot display" checkbox to make sure you wont ruin your monitor.

For anyone with flickering collar in the game, try using 32bit color instead of 16. for example if u use 800x600x16, try using 800x600x32. its the same with 1024x768. It works for me.

graphic card setting should be set according to your graphic card limit. for example if u have slightly older/weaker g.card, try not to use anti-aliasing. U may also want to set the mipmap detail level to best performance instead of best image quality or somewhere in between. try and xperiment it yourself.

The best graphic setting is up to your monitor size actually. If u have a 17" CRT monitor, the best setting should be 1024x768. for me, i use 1024x768x32. in the end, of course its up to your g.card performance.

The games is excellent! i have got a 32mb Riva TNT2 graphics card and my refresh rate is 85 hertz but i have no names and numbers on the shirts,, i wonder if i have to upgrade the refresh rate a bit more! the maximum it goes is 85 hertz, how can i make it go up to at least 100 hertz, is there a program to download or a setting to change???

Refresh rate is up to what your monitor is capable of. for example my Philips 107T can display 1024x768 at the maximum of 85Hz and 800x600 at 100Hz and so on.. It's all about hardware. If i'm not mistaken, there is no other way to change that unless of course if u buy another monitor that is capable of that.

which Nvidia drivers should allow the players names and numbers on the back of the shirts??? which do you recommend and that definately work?

CERTIFICATION PENDING doesn't mean crap. And with 30.82 and 30.87 you can't control the refresh rate, max 60 in XP and 75 in XPSP1.

When I try to change the resolution in the game settings to 1024x768 and save it it always save to 1280x..only if I save to 800x600 save to 1024x768. Any suggestion
