Ronaldo will never be the player that he was before the injuries and smaller clubs will tend to re-injure Ronaldo .Anyways I would like to see the duo Vieri-Ronaldo .I think they just played 2 games together .

farkin little italian clubs have to re-injure Ronaldo - typical ugly boring italian tactics. That approach really pisses me off.. so when i see the sweet justice of The old lady Juventus (mafia mob who pay smaller clubs to injure Ronaldo , and other players their defense cant stop) being kicked by Salas's SS Lazio last season .. i cant help but ROFL http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Are you people stupid ???Im not insulting Ronaldo ,but when you look at players who had long term injuries ,they never play like they once did .Look at Del piero .But I might be wrong .Why cant you people read ???And smaller clubs do take advantage of injured players because that is their only hope to win games .

Del Piero is a special case. Zidane, Rivaldo, Maradonna and plenty of other great stars have all had knee surgery and returned better than ever.
WHO INJURED RONALDO???????
HE INJURED HIMSELF BY TUMBLING AND TWISTING HIS KNEE IN A WRONG WAY, NOBODY TOUCHED HIM!

Long term injuries always ends up differently and it is mostly up to the player himself how it all comes out. Ofcourse there also is luck and very much up to the manager to see that the player rehabilitates in the right way, included in the process. I have two good Swedish examples that turned out very differently.
First we have Tomas Brolin, who was at the peak of his career and one of the world's best players when injured. When the Parma coach didn't give him the right chance to get back into the team after the injury he was sold and his days in Leeds we don't even need to talk about. Couldn't cooperate with the coach and lost his interest in football.
Then we have the exact opposite, Henrik Larsson, who stayed focused and set the goal for EURO2000. He eventually made it into the team and scored Swedens only real goal of the tournament. He had the support of Celtic all the way and never thought about anything else but coming back into the game.

Of course theres always exceptions ,but many have a trouble time to recover their old self .Look at Van Basten ,he was amazing during his care ,then in 93 he got injured badly and when he came back playing a few game he wasnt that great no more and then I dont remember against who ,but he was reinjured and he retired after that .The same thing can happen to Ronaldo .

Well, I do remember Lentini who was the world's most expensive player when he signed for Milan. Then he injured himself in a car wreck (I think) and he really couldn't play... it was really sad. Hope the same thing doesn't happen to Ronaldo, he seems like a really nice guy!

Lets talk seriusly. This Ronaldo is nothing like the Ronaldo from before the WC and I'm not talking about his style of play, I'm talking about his fisical aparrence the only thing that's still the same are his teeth. I remenber whaching him play back in Cruzeiro and PSV, he looked like a bag of bones, but in 98 during the WC he looked buff, he had operations to change his body and I don't think his legs could take it. I'm really sorry for him, I always admired him, hope he gets well, but there is a great chance that the Ronaldo we know won't be coming back...
