HI FOLKS,well for all these who thought that haifa cannot play soccer,what was that against manchster?olypiakos?against leverkusen they had no luck but they are defenetly the suprise of the champions league and FC basel too(DONT FORGET THAT MACCABI DIDNT PLAY IN ISRAEL BECAUSE THE SITUATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST),yaakubu ayegbeni will play next year in manchester united he scored 5 goals for maccabi,yaniv katan who scored 3 goals at the CL will play in 1 or two years in another top european football team and maybe also the brain of maccabi giovanni rosso SO GUYS NEVER UNDERESTIMATE A TEAM WHICH U DIDNT HEAR FROM THEM THIS IS FOOTBALL AND ALSO IN LIFE ITS LIKE THAT,MACCABI GOES TO THE UEFA CUP NOW maybe they will meet liverpool there and then who knows!

the real surprise is Basel that goes through and leaves Liverpool out the CL

Avi, you're obviesly a maccabi haifa fan, (which I'm not)
but nobody underastimated Haifa here... even after the first game
which was a shock to haifa, nobody here said that they're weak,
people understood that the first game ever in CL (and in old trafford)
could be a shock.

but, nevertheless, we should remember that Haifa didn't play at home,
they've played in cypruss as they're home, something that could have
bring them the points against Leverkusen and take them to 2nd place.

Basel is a great surprise (tho' Liverpool was the one who blew it)
but Haifa also took 7 points and scored about 12 goals...
just looking at AS Roma with only 3 goals, goes to the 2nd round,
makes me realize how Maccabi Haifa missed they're chance
in both games against Leverkusen.

Lokomativ Moscow & Newcastle are also a surprise for me,
as I was sure that Lokomotive will drop and Galatasaray will proceed.
(and not even talk about Bayern Munich...)

hi ma kore i agree with u as i said basel is also a suprise for me but i think the biggest disappointing team was without any doubt fc bayern muenchen with elber ballack scholl ze roberto and and and they have such a great squad,but in the bundesliga they play very well so far how do u say en lahem mazal buy the way i am a haifa fan but i live since 1993 in vienna austria,since 1990 i am a fan of maccabi haifa when i was 10 which team do u like`?

which team do I like? hmmm...
the one who never dropped to the 2nd league,
the one who have tho biggest amount of championships,
the one who have the biggest amount of cups.
you guessed it... Maccabi Tel-Aviv.;)

and BTW, I also think maccabi haifa made an excellent european performance,
but it does'nt count as "surprise" as it didn't go through the 2nd round.

i know all the players all the results i have radio i have seen all the games except the 3-0 over piraus ani meudkan ad hasof i hope hapoel will beat leeds today however they are an israeli team and i like and respect alle the israeli teams that play in europe no matter if basketball football or something else i hope maccabi tel aviv will win today @ yad eliyahu they have great players i think they need pini gershon more then ever then they will win the european championship again btw yaniv katan might play next year for mallorca but it is not sure yet they show interest,but they play in the second spanish league i think he had also more offers lets wait and c

yeh, they need Pinni Gershon coaching again,
David Blatt is a good coach, but we got a very young team this year,
and we need to get it grouped.
in the past years Ariel MaCdonald, Anthony Parker and Nate Huffman (+Nadav Henefeld)
played together 3 years, so they were pretty synchronised.

as for the football, I've talked about the games of the IL Premier League,
not about the European games.
if you have seen them, then you'll know that Maccabi Tel-Aviv
got a very talented team (and very offensive) which came threat Haifa.

Haifa are in excellent form (unlike Hapoel Tel-Aviv)
but they can't keep it all season on that level. (hopefully)
