I understand that swearing is banned on this forum, but the automatic censoring of words can make posting a little hard at times. Like when you are trying to post the first name of the Rangers manager (D1ck) or trying to use an unoffensive English word, for example (ocky or (ock-up, which means lippy and a mistake respectavely. This goes on when more offensive British words like bugger (not that it offends me) go through. I wouldn't mind, except that when people see a four letter word like D1ck or (ock-up censored, they presume you are being offensive! I'm not complaining about censoring the f or s words, but is there anyway it can be improved for the lesser swear words which also have practical and innocent meanings? I look forward to your replies!
Unfortunately the system we have available to us is not the perfect system, and can't determine your thought behind the word by how it is referrenced in a sentance.
At times I know it can censor words, or parts of words that shouldn't be censored.
But all the words that either Matt or I have censored are words that have been abused in the past.
It's really too bad at times we have play baby sitter on here and censor any words at all.
The only option we would have to not censoring words would be to ban someone that uses offensive words immediately. Despite what some people think, very few people have ever been banned from this forum.

Thanks, Ric. I suppose it's the best system available, and it's certainly better than banning those who may have only sworn once in a post (in anger perhaps). The perfect solution would be for nobody to swear, but I can't see it happening somehow... Thanks for the quick reply!
