mmm, let me say this, man utd will start of as favourites for the Premier League...
Arsenal have made some new signings, and could be the major threat to them, Chelsea have also dipped into the cash drawer and also purchased new players, but somehow i can't see Chelsea lasting the pace...Leeds have signed a couple of new players..BUT i think that they have made a huge mistake in signing Viduka, he is far too tempramental to be a solid and loyal player, he likes to create arguments with club officials when he can't have his own way..IE:> The big row in the Celtic dressing room when he refused to play the second half in one of there matches..so i think that we are all in for a very interesting season...and good luck to you all, who ever you support.......

Ned,

united have seen all this before this is not the first time chelsea have spent a huge sum of money on building a better team,
leeds as i kept on telling all last season will fall apart and they did
i still think they are tooo young and require a group of matured players, a nicky barmby can only help them.
arsenal again look like a team very eager to take the crown from united, finally henry is back in form, seems that he lost it for a while in turin, but in london he has found it
im most intimidated by this arsenal team this year
united have not done enough shopping i feel
i was hoping maybe a defender, to partner stam, maybe a cannavaro, or a nesta if they are willing to leave thier home country!!!

3rd is hardly falling apart
going off the rails there a bit but not falling apart.
and Leeds have the experience needed this season i feel...all the young players in the team gained ALOT of experience last season and once Batty is fit and with Dacourt in midfield its looking prety good.
also Viduka up front banging in the goals hopfully!

Yeah, United will win the title, but it will be much harder this year. Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds and Chelsea have all made new signings. Boro, Spurs and Villa are trying to challenge the big boys. It'll be hard, and no matter what Roy Keane says United will NOT go unbeaten all next season.

A big statement from Roy Keane, as far as i can gather, i think only two teams ever came close to going through the season with an unbeaten record...one was Leeds with only two defeats in the season plus quite a few draws, and Liverpool could have a similar record..and that was back in the 70's in the English First Division, there could be a couple of other clubs that have gone close..but i would have to do some checking out to clarify it all...Huddersfield Town and Maybe Arsenal way back in the 20's and 30's..could be worth looking into...

going unbeaten will be quite a statement by any team but i do not think manu will be too hung up on that

few losses will most definetely occur but its wierd boys i dont think manu will lose to chelsea arsenal leeds or liverpool, instead i think it will be a middle of the group team that does all the damage catching united off guard

kev its good to hear you know, your history,
and is good to see your a devoted player here on the forum

Neddy, sorry but are you new here, i dont know if i have seen you here before, if your new, welcome!!!!, its also good to see you know your footie!!!

Cantono07..
No mate, i have been here before, but like you i took a break from it all for a few months...then Black_Ned rose from the ashes, it's a name my football/drinking mates tagged on to me, i prefer the "Black" Irish texture to the local ales.....there is nothing racalist in there, its only a knickname...in general i am a Premier League follower, i don't allign myself with any given team, the "local" feeling has gone due to the infux of overseas players into the English game, it has certainly improved the standard of the Premier League, but at the expense of the top clubs loosing there "British" identity....but that is the way the game is now, so we might as well enjoy what is on offer every saturday...and thanks for the welcome............Ned
