If we want to 'achieve' anything, I think we should start now :p since there is no point in asking for things in March or April.

Before you post here:

- do not repeat something that's been already said 20 times
- be specific
- stay on topic
- keep it clean- no "EA You Suck" and things of that sort
- don't post just to say "That's a good idea"
- no requests for Teams, Leagues, etc.

Any posts that do not abide by those rules, will be deleted or edited by the mods.

I think the current gameplay is fine ... just need the heading sorted out.

2003 has the best gameplay of any fifa yet. Much more intuitive and realistic ... much more like ISS ...

I'd like more tactics and customisation options.

** Formations **

In ISS you can edit and create custom formations.
Fifa 2003 has very few formations - you can't be very creative.

In sensible world of soccer you had almost ultimate flexibility in being able to create custom tactics.

** Extras **

More stadiums!

More leagues more international teams!

Is frustrating when only world cup years have all international teams in.

Ok the game might get large ... but why not distribute it on DVD rather than CD?

Fifa is very much a PC game IMHO ... ISS rules PS2, so why not concentrate on strengths of PC and X-BOX e.g. media and file storage capabilities.

It would be great if major european leagues [England, Italy, Spain and Ger had all the league grounds. ]

** Options **

Ability to choose stadiums, time of game.

Creation centre to have all options you can do in access ... especially kit numbers and captain assignation.

Ability to create more competitions [16 team limit is really annoying]. I really want to create a full FA- Cup ...

It is really annoying how some functionality is removed in later editions of Fifa ... you could choose stadiums in 98 ... not in 2003 ?

All current functionality should be maintained ...

NHL and Madden are much better in this respect.

I think the gameplay is better than Fifa 2002, but...

First, sorry for my english.

1)The gameplay; the header are not real. I' not talking about only of the dificulty of connect a head. The headers in real life are more powefull (not all), and in real match the head balls go over the bar and near the bar.
2)The cpu shots: in real match miss the target near the post, over the bar and go miles away too. In fifa 2003 the cpu shots miss his traget near the post or they are catch by keepers.
3) Freekicks: not near the box, the defensive kicks: it's not possible when you or the cpu are in your field. We want to know were go the ball, and the cpu alwas kick an stupid free kick to the users players and never shot a long and higher pass.
4) Fouls: more fouls, charge fouls, not only slide fouls.
5)Keepers: more interception in the corners catching the ball, not always punch the ball. The charge of the keepers are not real. The keepers in real life stop your charges and wait the action of the attackers to block the shot or to strip the ball.
Penaltys by the keepers but not with this unreal tackle of 2003, real penalty when th keepers try to strip the ball like the real life.
6) The defense: more realistic defense. Sometimes the cpu players and user players follow your mark and ups!! they run away to the center of the field or somewhere. More real and better defense. Near the box the real defenders mark your oponents and wait the actions of the attackers. Real defenses and movements of defense and keepers.
7)Real dribble. It's good but when your sprint near the box to shot, the player loose a long time to shot.
8)Real atributes for players.
9)Better definitions of shirts.
10) A real creation center. Tha actual creation center is worst FCDB 2002.I don't understand this.

11) A real football match. Fifa 2003 are much better but EA can make the perfect game.

bye

*****Gameplay*****

-Fix the Heading, make it simple and intuitive, they started right in WC 2002 but then....

-Keep improving the passing, its great what you've done so far

-Expand the pitch a little bit more

-Reconfigure controls to what they were before, please

-harder to score goals please

-MORE TACTICS, like ISS

****AI******

-Smarter, more natural Goalies

-Better differentiation between Big team/Small team

-Better tackling and controlled player reactions

-No more defensive bugs, where defenders run AWAY from the ball rather than TO the ball

- More tactical play from the AI...not just up the middle and goal kinds of things,

-Better balance between the difficulty levels

****Graphics******

-No more arms going thru legs and that sort of stuff

-Stadium number is fine as long as the Day/Night/Weather options are re-introduced (Snow please!!!)

-Season play should be accordingly. Ex. Winter weather in Europe, Night games for champions League

*******Options/Miscellaneous********

-In FIFA 98 sometimes players could get ramdonly injured doing other things, more injuries during season gameplay

-International Call ups!!!

-Performance trackers similar to Madden/NHL ad NBA games.

-More intuitive players

-expanded options for season/customizations (Ex. Player retirements, injuries, trade offers depending on performance and such...like madden)

-Include Holland please!!! fix the licensing issue

-More international Sides, better kits for those....

-Include an in-game CC, the current one is too cumbersome

-More editing (Numbers, accessories, fonts, all of that...)

****Things to keep*****

-In game flares
-Free Kick system
-overall gameplay structure
-Kit selection before matches
-Club Championship
-Overall Sound (chants, commentary)

ok...done

Authenticity:
Be more authentic. Do not include unrealistic things in FIFA like Club Championship mode, ladder tournament, world tour, those things do not exist therefore they should not be included in the game. There must be inluded a creation center with which willing people would be able to create any tournament they like. But otherwise make a system like in FIFA 2002 where you play real existing tournaments to unlock more real exising ones.

Gameplay:
Keep the gameplay, just fix the inability of defenders to sprint back, they always get outrun by forwards.

Teams:
Expand the Rest Of The World section it should inlclude all the teams that participate in the Champions League and Uefa Cup but are not in the leagues included in the game (like Dynamo Kiev-random example;)

Licencing:
Get the Champions League licence and put the limelight on it. Instead of non existing Club Championship mode.

Miscellaneous
Make the game more random but dont over do it so. You hardly ever hear the coach scream in the game (but him screaming every 2 seconds would be awful too). Some stuff that would be nice to come up very rarely around every 80-70 games like a steaker running on the field, or the referee getting subbed for injury reasons.

Music:
Footy music please no more girls whining abiut being frustrated.

Well I Play on a PS2, these are just a few things which i think could be improved upon.

I miss being able to edit player numbers, and the clubs kit, as you could in Fifa 98 and so forth.

Being able to curl the ball would be nice in open play.

Heading MUST be improved.

The keepers seem to idiotically charge out when you approach them, and its far too easy to score past them.

Generally your defence tends to make random runs towards midfield, its hard to make up the ground as an attacker makes a run, and it doesn't help when your centre backs make runs all over the place.

I do miss the training mode, on former versions it helped to work on set pieces and stuff.

I would like to see Diving back in the game, it added a sense of realism.

I'm sure there are more, but there are a lot of good features in this game, the game play is good, and i love the free kicks and corners.

Qualifying starts in 2004, so I think that International selection should be put back in...and the menus and team management should go back to the way it was in RTWC98...

Plus I would like to see stats for
1. Shots
2. Shots on goal
3. Assists
4. Saves
5. Shutouts
6. Fouls
and probably more...

drjohnnyboy
28-11-2002, 01:16:PM
1. More keeper animations. It is rediculous how he knocks long shots out of play that would normally would be caught.

2.Curling the ball in open play is a must

3.Ball selection in all console versions

4.More profound freestyle button

5.Handballs

6.Snow option as well

7.better ability to take low hard shots at the net!!!!!

I get what he's saying though. Sometimes you can't get your subs in. For example, my previous game against Newcastle, I played to sub Heskey in the 70th minute. However, he never got in because the ball never went out.

u cant sub in any time you want, only when the ball isnt played i.e. free kicks, goal kicks, throw ins, etc.

I want the in-game editor for changing player`s appereance back, the training mode, Holland, accurate foot settings not only for the EPL players but for all the league, a much more fair judgement for south-American players rating ( Kaka = 68 ?????? ), and last but not least the free-cam during replays . And oh yeah, a much improved but smaller-sized CC.

AhmedK
28-11-2002, 05:16:PM
Yes Kader what i meant is being able to sub during free kicks, penaltys, whenever the ball is played.

I might be mistaken but in wc2002 and 2003 you cant sub until the ball is out but your sub wont come in when there is a free kick.

since i'm new to the pc version of FIFA, i'm just learning about all the editing options i can access. i'm willing to see what i can fix myself before griping about some of the flaws/oversights in gameplay.

but there simply must be a way to provide better, deeper options for formations and tactics. no 3-4-3? no way to assign wing/flank duties to my outside defenders?

i love the IGM system of yore. i added an aspect of realism to the game, especially with the different options for defense and possession. attack and neutral just don't cut it and you can't adjust it on the fly.

camera zoom! essential.

fix the heading, especially on crosses and free kicks into the area.

i'm sure i'll think of more stuff later.

A season mode that makes you feel like a real manager. Not just playing games in season. Transfer markets? Not just giving your player to a club and taking the money from them! And you have to put bids in for players, so it rewarding when you buy them.

Come up with a whole new PENALTY mode! 2003 penalties are the worst i have seen in a game of football in a long time. And make it a lot more exciting! Penalties are the most exciting part of a football game. Much more than just a way of deciding a winner.

I thought of the following idea one day and thought it was brilliant... i hope you agree!! Immediately after a player scores a goal, it would be amazing if you could press different button combinations to choose your celebration! Or even just a celebration for each button on the joypad.

Bring back features from 2001 such as in game formation changing by pressing "select" on the ps2 joypad. Also playing offside traps on the press of a button.

Sorry to say it but im sick of motty. Maybe thats just my opinion.

Good luck for 2004. Your all doing a great job. I love you.

Fouls for Handball
Able to score more easily from free kicks
When simulating games , much more stats should be available apart from the score line such as bookings , goals , injuries etc.

Yes dhruv we do need an indoor stadium its was very fun playing in sappora dome stadium. Myabe some cinematics from inside the tunnel that would be great.

BTW i still havent gotten 2003 do they still limit the celebrations to "important"goals or is it every single one now????
Also is the music classical or is it back to that other crap the classical music really made the goals seem important.

I've seen people post some really useless things like the ability to choose boots for every player
Anyway, I think the player control isn't all that realistic as people make it out. It's very difficult to control the players, plus sometimes i get players running stright for about 4 seconds while i'm pressing another direction button. The player control in WC was better IMHO.
The heading must be dealt with.
You guys have lessened the driblings from FIFA 98 RTWC onwards. Now, only players like Zidane can do tricks, while the others just push the ball forward. Zidane can do just about any trick. FFS, i can do more tricks IRL than any player in FIFA 2003. That's not realistic.
The passing sistem is quite bad IMO. First, no ball curling.
No 1-2 passes. Sometimes i pass to a player, the ball is rolling 30 cm to his left, but he doesn't get control of the ball, he just keeps running. Same for lobs.
I could do some beautiful passes in WC. Now, nothing.
The GKs are a lot better, but still they charge when i don't press W and that's not good.
So, in conclusion, player control, dribblings, passing, curling the ball from open play(passes shots and lobs), and also give us more control when shooting. Kind of like FIFA 99 combined with WC 2002.

Mauro DeLa Vega
29-11-2002, 02:45:AM
--I think the gameplay is pretty good already. The heading obviously needs some work, but just defensively (not the same button as the keeper) and when unmarked.

--Some more generic tricks for all players and a real reflection of playerstats in-game. I don't want to be able to catch up Owen with Hierro.

--Maybe some more control when shooting, and of course with curve.
The passing is great I think, you can do 1-2's, through balls, one-time passing, everything. The only thing missing is good high passes as the lobbed pass is too slow and before you receive the ball you have a defender glued to you ass.

--A decent CC.

--Better customisation of controls, and support for configuring multiple (different) gamepads.

--Bring back the free cam in replays and the zoom/height control of in-game cameras.

--And most important Don't take out stuff that we like!

Handballs. When i was playing the demo beckham was in the box and the ball got kicked right into him when he was defending. A penalty was called and it looked like in the auto replay that it hit his arm.

I think we should get back training mode.

When i played the PS2 version it worked for headers!

IMO the Fifa people should stopping watching english premier league for inspiration.Start watching teams like Valencia and Real madrid and notice how real tactical, short pass, and technical football is played.Unlike the fast and messy english play (maybe just not man-u and arsenal).Im not trying to dis english football, but i am trying to say the spanish teams play more beautifull football.Fifa just always strikes me as a ****ed up premier league simulation.Am i the only one who thinks that?

This thread is all about our wishes for the next FIFA. So what`s wrong if some of us asking for a better player appereance editing feature ???? If EA wants to rule the soccer gaming world, they should start listen to their customer. We want good gameplay, we want to be able to edit stuff as easily as possible, training mode and it`s their obligation to fulfill it since we pay them our money for the game.
So if you want the gameplay to be improved then just say it, but please don`t talk trash about other people`s whises. If you read my post in FIFA 2002 forums, then you`ll see that I`m asking for better gameplay, cos` we can edit easily in FIFA 2002. Now in FIFA 2003 we can`t edit easily, but a better gameplay, so I want them both in FIFA 2004, what`s wrong with that ?????

:)

Firstly!!

More cinematics in the game (like NBA Live 2003)
example:

- coach give the instruction to the players (when he wants make
subs
-substitution cinematics
-the squad (coach subs player and others) very happy when a
goal scored!!
- the crowd not too excited!!

2) Formation can be edit by click and drag
(like Total Club Manager 2003) i thinks it is better!!

3)Captaincy can be change easily!!

4) More players use thier own boots and favourite foot

5)More offical stadiums

6)Buy-Sell player process more realistic -bid the players NOT just buy him easily!!
(like star premier league 2001)

7) Header can be made when no CPU player challenge to get the ball

8)The Player NOT TOO DARK!! (like Ryan Giggs!!)

9) No need good graphic card just for the players number and name at the back

10) player can diving in the penalty box (like fifa 99)

11) if the keeper doesn't kick after he catch the ball for 8 second free kick will be given (fifa98 road to wc)

12)handball!!

Better Transfer system!!!

Career Play!

Players improving with practice and age. (Old players getting worse with age).

1. Better out of play cinematics, for example, subs, and manager interactions, like in NHL.

2. Handball is a big YES

3. International play during season mode, whilst playing as a league team you can choose to play as an international as well. ability to call up players?

4. better linesman - they always point without the use of the flag!

5. more real refs, not jus in cc mode. (ginger boy is annoying!)

6. more statistics popups for players in game. (like NHL)

7. desent from players - resulting in yellow cards, etc.

8. more difference with speedy players - can out sprint defenders to get to lobbed balls up field

9. bring keepers up for corners :) more and more are doing it these days :)

Chill
29-11-2002, 08:20:AM
bring back training mode.

a creation centre for consoles (could even be an ad-on disc you buy separately)

free cam in replays like zoom in-out, up down, left right.

better long passing (lobs)

able to change free kick taker, penalty taker when you have one like you pause the game and change the man taking it like in pes.

DO NOT DO HANDBALLS WHATEVER YOU DO IT WILL SPOIL IT AND BE FRAUSTRAING, TRUST ME ITS A BIG NO,NO

better tornament (official)

i think heading is brilliant but maybe be able to do power of it somehow????

i think the players are too stocky, but otherwise the graphics are fantastic

able to do low hard shots along the floor and for gad sake sort out the shooting animation!! it is so unrealistic.

change left foot or right foot, and actually have them be better with their left/right foot not just kick with both equally hard

more formations

dont have keeper charge the same button as header

corners more rewarding like they should be, it is impossible to score from corners due to the heading being to slow and not powerful

better defence AI

if a player is badly injered some sportsmanship would be nice like kicking out of play, or even just the ref stop the game.
stretchers on the pitch???? (not sure about that one)

make the highlights after gama better by using better angles or more of the actual shot not just in some of them seeing the ball being in air after a save but not seeing the actual save.

if players are faster, MAKE THEM FASTER i dont like having blanc catching up to owen

extra stuff like golden goal match and penalty kick match

more foul, shoot, run and keeper animations

weather option (snow) with orange ball

realistic stuff like maybe very rarely games being called off or player retirement, unavailable players like an injury in traing or something, or an international game so your player is unavailable

being able to change captain

menu is too slow

I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE I AM ONE OF THOSE FIFA HATERS PIONTING OUT ALL THE BAD THING ABOUT THE GAME BUT THAT IS WHAT THIS FORUM IS FOR.

BTW THIS THE BEST EVER FIFA BY MILES AND I REALLY ENJOY PLAYING IT

WELL DONE EA AND KEEP IT UP, (NOW THAT YOU ARE GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION)

Firstly i would like to say the multiplayer element to this year's fifa is outstanding except for the 'out of sync' messages that constantly interrupt play. Now...

How about this for an idea... BUILD YOUR OWN STADIUM !!

Rather than EA do all the work on this one, i think it'd be great if WE could design more stadiums for the other major league teams, they could even give you the chance to create new stadium for your own custom teams & leagues !! This would be a great feature as you can really benefit from playing home games and seasons would be much more realistic !

You could start with a basic model (like the 2 already in this year's game) and then add to it more (or less) tiers, pitch size + condition, dugouts, banners + signs, with or without running track, even seasonal weather conditions etc !!

many other games have a build your own... section so why not fifa??

Also, i know someone mentioned it earler but, i'd love to see the champions league introduced...and your team must qualify to enter etc. and yes get rid of the made up tournaments !!

and finally...what happened to the ability to curl shots + passes, and zooming in/out with cameras ?? I would like to be able to bend a cheeky lob passed the goalie from a corner kick as sometimes happens in real life.

Keep up the good work !
regards,
Rams

PS: please redesign the game's menus system. they have always been awful but they're getting worse !! why, for instance, can i not use my (cordless) gamepad to navigate the game's menu system like the console versions !?!? and there are too many message boxes that flash up saying are you sure, or click OK to continue etc !!!

HansRaul007 I understand what you're saying. But, if EA implement the small things first and leave out the more important stuff(because you have to admit that gameplay is more important than choosing boot colours) you'll get a ****tier game.
I'd like to add a few points to my wishlist:
Better tactic management. I can't play 3-4-3. This is unrealistic. Bring back FIFA 99 tactics.
Better reaserch. For example: Chivu in the game has 56. He is one of the best defenders out there. As said by Florentino Perez of Real Madrid. Read the reviews on uefa.com. The reviews about Ajax's matches always praise Chivu(when he's playing). This is top football. A player that performs great in the Champions League has 56? Impossible.

Jazzer
29-11-2002, 09:30:AM
My FIFA 2004 wishlist:

- Air pass system from WC2002 or FIFA2002

- More realistic goalkeepers (I don't know but maybe FIFA2002 gk's act more realistic)

- Goalkeepers do some great saves but no all of them, and not always.

- I've been asking for this since '98 and I WANT GOALKEEPERS WEARING LONG PANTS :f***:

- Introduce STYLE of gameplay 'cause not every team plays as if ti were a dutch or english team.

- Fix things like rebounds from the bar, that's the WORST thing in the game.

- Fix the field texture, it looks like green plastic, WC textures were simply great and you didn't even need an nVIDIA videocard.

I can't think in other things right now but if it comes I'll tell you

Savo

How about .. Putting Yugo in the game (H)

Mauro DeLa Vega
29-11-2002, 01:26:PM
Things EA took out of the game throughout the years that I (we?) want back:

-Indoor stadium for friendlies.

-Training mode

-Good team management with decent tactics and the ICM (Euro2000).
We don't need a 2-5-3 or 3-6-1 formation! 3-4-3 should be back and Line tactics (Diamond, Wingers, Sweeper, etc..) options.

-Substitution cinematics. Why are they gone?

-Curved pass/shots in-game (obviously)

Major suggestion for FIFA2004:

Beta-testing!!
Let some experienced FIFA-gamers play the game and listen to what they think of it.

Sobe
29-11-2002, 06:25:PM
some wishes for FIFA 2004
-first lets get a creation centre. i love creating players.

-more leagues. meaning more internation league tournoments, not just the european turnoments.people in the americas play this game also!

-ok when you win an important game allow the players to really celebrate hard. adding more drama.especially when you win a cup.and also if you make a goal that could decide a game in the final minutes, let the players go nuts and the crowd as well.and when you win a cup game , have all the subs come out and celebrate.if its an internation team have them all come out and some carrying their national flag and waving it around.

-its really nice when the crowd stands up and cheers when u attempt shots but when they calm down they all go back to their seats at the exact same time.this looks fake.(anyone else know what im talking about?)instead let them sit down one section at a time.

-stop the loud OHHH's everytime an away team misses a shot.

-i also noticed that when the away team is awarded a penalty ,the home crowd cheers like its a good thing. let them be silent. more real. and also when the home team golie saves a penalty the crowd needs to cheer hard. they never do.and when a game is decided by penalties the players need to be more emotional when they make or miss a shot. especially if a player has to take the deciding penalty. he needs to go nuts with exitement, they just stand around in fifa 2003 after they win a game by penalties.fake!

-for the spanish commentary. have a broadcaster the says the infamous ''ggoooooooooooolllllll'' after every other goal or so. i love that.

-also how about some boooos when the away team is controling the ball at the start of the game..

-if possible , how about the playing of national anthems for the international teams before cup games?

-also some actual chants for the international teams.

-when playing with a team thats not so popular or that doesnt win so many games, how about having less fans in the stadium seats?its always a packed house no matter what. especially for a league that never has a crowded stadium like the MLS.

-also let there be more unlockable awards. it makes it more interesting when you know that your playig to unlock something.how about allowing us to unlock some teams?maybe some teams that are good that normally dont appear in FIFA games. how about allowing us to unlock some classic teams from the past? or players from the past like maradona, pele etc.bottom line is the needs to be more awards. it makes it better in my opinion.

-after the game stop showing all the tackles that occured in the game when the highlights are shown .they take the place of other better shooting highlights that could have been shown. i dont care how the tackle looks, and i dont wanna see all of them in the highlights.

- bring back the free cam from fifa 2002 on the replay mode.

- how about some actual stadiums from the americas!

-also if your not gonna include some leauges form the americas them how about at least adding some of the top temas form the americas in the ''rest of the world'' section?you have teams like galatasaray and ajax. why not cruz azul and america from mexico? or boca juniors and river plate?give us westerners a chance to enjoy some our favorite teams also!

i cant think of any more improvements. anyone agree or have any improvements for my improvements?? let me hear them!!

Make it harder to run with the ball, make the ball be kicked further out and to be stolen easier if you're not careful and make it so it takes much more time to master the running speeds. Maybe look at PES2 so that there are about 4-5 different jogging/running/sprinting speeds.

Make the shooting harder to direct and harder to stay down, but keep the low/ground shots, this is realistic and people like a shooting system that is very hard to master and get used to straight away. Something that keeper the players' 'playing' the game. :)

The goalkeepers should be able to save more 1-on-1's, though this might not reflect the realism in a 'real' match, it would add more excitement and emotion and not 'here's another goal' as soon as you're in the penalty area.

Make the goalkeeper's dive and save freekicks that are on target, but not all the time. It's just that a bit of both diving/saving and just standing dumb founded would be good, unlike FIFA 2003 where it seems that every freekick that is on target = GOAL!

Make the pitch bigger, much bigger, the bigger the pitch the more realistic the score and the game, if this was don with 2003 (even though the pitch is bigger but not enough) then it would be even better. :)

Make the A.I defence harder to break and make it harder to pass the ball around and keep possession.

The A.I should be more clever at keeping the ball and should REEEAAALY make the player work to get it back, but add more A.I tactics, so that it might not happen all the time, maybe this could be reflected on the score line and time, like 2003, but add more depth into this.

The players' should be more unique. The more unique the players' are both physically and graphically then the better and more realistic the game will be and play.

Make a more realistic fatigue system.

Double bookings? This would be great. Maybe a new fouling system for this and I think that to make it so fouling a player ISN'T just possible from slide tackles would be great, this has been in past FIFA's but has gone! :(

More difficulty levels make it harder though, not easier, so even if the game does appeal to the younger audience, they'll have to learn just as much as the older players' do. 3+ for a FIFA game is not very great.

Make the grass really 3D and make the ball react with certain conditions and even the players', we all know a rainy game make people slide and the ball should act realistically to this. :)

That's all, I'll be back when I think of some more. :)

THESE ARE THE THINGS I REALLY WANT!

*Bigger pitch

*More unique player faces and attributes/animations and skills.

*In-depth fouling and booking system.

*Improved A.I and shooting.

*Fix heading and other bugs, though I know a game can;t be bug free, some bugs are just really nasty.

These are the things I want the most! :rockman:

Well.....

Happy waiting till October or November 2003 then.. Don´t know how you can feel satisfied having to wait so much for having a decent game, instead of throwing this bag of bugs on the thrash and playing the "bug free" games, that you know which ones they are.. Just a friendly advice to all football lovers, that, like me, had to wait for many years until seeing the real football light, which I want to share with all of you.. :)

MORE managing options and have it so in a Season you can bid for players' and have managers and people asking for meetings and to transfer players', like in TCM2003, accept you play the matches and have the total control like FIFA, but the managing stuff of TCM2003! :rockman:

First of all, I really enjoy FIFA2003. Almost all aspects of the game are more realistic then in previous versions. However, that being said, I am really into having realistic player and team stats and options. Here are some of the things I would like to see added or improved in this area:

-Make fatigue a factor during games and thruout the season. In HighHeat Baseball (Sorry to bring this up, but its a good example), players get more tired throuout the season if they dont get time off. This also makes them more prone to injuries. By doing so, we would have to really manage our teams and use every player, especially if we were doing the ECC during a season. For example, have the fittest players (10s) lost a percent of stamina every three game minutes, and the players with less stamina lose it a little faster. They would also lose stamina for sprinting, both short term and over the course of the game. The players would then recooperate, say 5-8% a day. This system would create a real need to manage one's team wisely. (ie. play Owen in the ECC match and his backup in the league match againest West Ham).

Also, I would like to see statistics besides Goals and Cards. The stats in different competitions are a good start, but bring back the ability to see every team, not just your own and the league leaders. Also add stats such as assists, matches played and tackles, and also saves and shots againest for goalies. I feel that these are essential stats that must be included. Also, make the season totals more realistic. The goal leader should be a striker and have about 25-35 goals, especially if his team was in the ECC or other Euro competitions.
When playing a league, I would like to be able to see the tables, fixtures, and stats of all the other leagues as well. Simulating all the leagues would give the player a more realistic feeling of how the schedules, trades and teams relate to each other. This would make goal scoring races more interesting, as one would be going against all Euro players, not just in own league. Just remembered, do include transfers, and make some players hard to get, where you have to negociate a price, depending on how he's done that season, career, etc. This would make more sense then now, where strikers cost so much more then any other players.
I also think that the league cups should include many more teams. I realize that putting in all the English teams in the FA Cup might take EA to long, but maybe make it an option to add these teams, so that players can use CC to make them and add them to the cup. Also give the option for users to make teams in lower divisions and then connect them directly to Premier division, so that player could create a real promotion campaign from second divsion to first, and on to Premier and try to win title there. This would add more play time.

On team management level, allow users more feedom in choosing formations and tactics. I think that we should be able to move each icon to where we want in and create any formation we want. We should also be able to control tactics, especailly on corners and free kicks. Allow us to choose which players run in on corner, etc. In FIFA2000, it was possible to have the players move around the box on corner, bring that back.

Four small gameplay issues. Make the goalies hold more shots instead of punching them and add curving ability to balls hit in regular play. Also bring back free cam in replay mode and make it possible to hit stronger headers.

Unlike many people, I feel that EA doesn't need to improve the stadiums, graphics, kits, etc that much. Adding the things I taked about above would make many people forget about looks. These additions would create a game that could be enjoyed by people that are looking for true realism, as well as people that just want to have fun.

How about some tournament integration? I mean, international games are not separate form the actual club season, they take place toghether throughout the year. It would be nice to be able to issue caps to the national teams from any player of that nationality, not just be restricted to a 20 player roster made by EA.
In short, some sort of season (or career) mode like the one in TCM where players might get injured for years, international caps affect their performance, players punch referees and use illegal stuff, etc.

Not had time to read all ...

2004

1. Build from scratch .. Gameplay and Real Total Control!!

2. Gameplay and ALL that involves ( forget graphics they are good enough).

3. If I can pass a ball by a man standing a couple of feet from me then so should players in the game

4. If players real life can hit a shot as hard as he can and still
get it on Target then in gameplay so should the player I control.

5 Ball gravity , If real player can hit dipping swerving shots then so should players in the game.

6. Headers .. Say' it ALL

7. Better tackling.

8. Player movement at set=pieces

9. Animation .. even in 2003 players still had a stiffness about there running movements. Net animation will add to the feel good factor of scoring goals.

10. What was wrong with the in-game stat changes .player stat and the like!

11. Zoom , give me back my zoom out option in cameras option

12. ( in the song style of 2 nil 2 nil ) a chant from football fans the world over ....... Give us in 2004 Gameplay gameplay Gameplay gameplay

OK. Here we go. I'll type much, and I don't have perfect english, but i think that people in this thread and in EA should understand me. OK.

1. U must fix bugs when passing. What bug? The bug comes when i pass to other player, he misses the ball, and other players, mine and opponents stops and keep looking at me how i'm elegantely running, with no rush, for a ball. When i get to it, game continues. That's... not all right...

2. U must make AI much harder, couse i'm too tired to win with any club on world class, and have ball possesion in my players legs like 62-38 for me, of course.

3. OK. U like graphich improoving, BUT, for better gameplay u MUST include MANAGER OPTIONS. That's like: better tactics, much more formation options (in 2003 was a disaster, only few formation which u could modify...), then, fatigue, and better transfer system. How better? Well, i'm for example manager of Real Madrid and i wanna buy Francesco Totty from Roma. In every FIFA's u could mark him and get him... now! In new transfer system Roma would like to negotiate about Totti's price, or, about money. And, at the end, Totti will be in Real Madrid after few months of hard negotiations with AS Roma.
And, the MAIN thing in Manager options would be PLAYER'S IMPROOVENT. How's that working? Like in real life. There will be a training, with every detail in it, like in real life. So, if, for example Morientes is lacking in shooting, his Shooting Atribute whish was 50, now is 45. That would be happening with every attributes. Of course, u could control with your DESIRED player, and others would be controlled by AI. Player's improoving system will be easy or hard. In easy or Ameteur difficulity Player's Improoving System will be easy, but on World Class... u know what I mean?

4. Why don't u make an option where u don't need to control with all team, but ONE individual who will start for example in third league and he could have a career. That guy could be me, you, and by his improoving, he get's older and more experienced. He was in third league? Now he is a great player who is playing in Real Madrid first league. When his career ends, u could make another player and so on... That would be great, trust me.

5. Get Zinedine Zidane for Motion Capture, please!!!

I hope that my words will help EA to make something like i've just posted.
Anyway, thanks for this improovent in FIFA 2003.

Sorry for... bad english.

Nah, wouldn't be great in my opinion, I wouldn't buy it! :(

**********

Right well, I think EA should look and THINK about WHAT players' can actually do in the real game and maybe they the programmers should have some fun at paying football (soccer for them) and see just what THEY can do. Then they should implement that stuff into the game.

Like shooting: Shooting needs SO much more depth then what FIFA 2003 has, cause in reality, you can swerve IF YOU WANT TO, you can dip the ball and make it swerve, or just make it dip, you can do chip shots and have really powerful low shots, or not so powerful, in reality getting a shot to stay down and bang in the top corner would take a long time to master, even a low powerful top corner shot would be hard, cause players’ like Beckham can so that, but they still find it difficult at times. Despite the fact that I would be controlling players' as good as Beckham, it should still take much longer to master the shooting system, cause that way, everything is realistic about the shooting and if enough depth is put into the shooting, MUCH more then FIFA 2003, then you'll get some very nice fans behind you! ME INCLUDED, though I'm already a fan, I'm kind of sinking down, cause last year, the gameplay stopped me playing and this year, it's cause of the bugs and the lack of testing in the game, it just makes the game poor at times, but it IS still enjoyable. :)

What we need is a REALLY fantastic shooting system, something that allows ALL kinds of shots to be made possible, but to pull off the really incredible stuff like top corners, you'll have to play MUCH longer then what you do in 2003.

The keepers are also terribly balanced. A.I keepers and human keepers should be the same and save more close shots, MUCH more. Make us sweat when playing EA, SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF US!!! :rockman: :crazyboy: The more nervous we get when paying, the better, cause that means scoring would just knock them nerves away and you’d be cheering MUUUCH more, think about it…maybe you should get one them Emotions dudes, that knows how to make people do this and that, so that you can make the game do ‘this and that’ to make the players’ FEEL more in their match, if you know what I mean!?!?

Thanks,

I want more dribbling from all the players. Football has a lot to do with dribbling. More and new dribbles. But not the same for all the players. Better players make more and better dribbles. Also different speeds. Be able to outrun a slow defender. Make the goalkepper more efficient. In corners he must be able to catch the ball and not just punch it. And please differebt controls for header and keeper charge.
The 8 second rule will add more realism to the game.
Include Champions League in the game and not just make another game. Also in England and Italy or Spain include lower divisions too.
And last but not least, do something with Panathinaikos. We were almost at the semi finals of CL last year but not in the game. And you have Olympiakos and PAOK instead. Let's be serious. Put the one really big team of Greece in the game. The only one known in Europe. PANATHINAIKOS

i've finally been able to play a couple of marathon sessions with the PC version of 2003 and my opinion on its quality is starting to line up with pearce96's. it seems like i've shelled out 40 bux to take part in a global beta testing porgram instead of enjoying a well-honed game. the threads on editing and tweaking only re-enforce that opinion. many elements of the game feel incomplete or unrefined and i think the development team, under pressure to deliver the game on time, let things lapse to the "lowest common denominator."
the most frustrating element is the AI. while vastly improved from past schemes, there are enough lapses per match to make me wonder how they were missed in testing. i work for a video game company and i know how rigorous beta testing has to be, especially if there are "mysterious" glitches. but at least once a match both sides freeze in their tracks until a player latches onto an errant pass. sometimes this has disastrous consequences on the scoreline--or fortuitous if it happens while the player is in possession. i say at least once a match because more than one review i've read has tried to gloss this over by saying it is rare. "at least once a match" is unacceptable when you consider that the scoreline is what counts in this game and there is nothing more frustrating than giving up a late goal because your entire team just lost the plot. and why on earth don't i have automatic control of the player i've just sent sprinting ahead with a run? i time a through pass only to see it roll harmlessy ahead while i'm clicking like mad to get control of the striker or wing.
the heading scheme is just as bad. tying the heading action with a keeper charge means that i can't defend corners and crosses in the air, lest my keeper leave his line in an ill-advised charge while the opponent floats a weak header into the net. i'm left hoping that i've timed a completely unrealistic bicycle kick from the defender to clear the ball. this is just lazy programming.
overall, the movement of the players and the build up play is very well done and realistic. but the game doesn't have the tactical depth or variation in cpu playing styles to excuse the glitches. the game feels clunky and random and i still don't see that the cpu is reacting to the match or adjusting their tactics--as was claimed during the hype-up to release--other than suddenly being able to intercept every pass and pour on late pressure.
there's a lot to like, but this doesn't feel like an overhaul so much as a work in progress.

Yeah those are good points but then you need ( and it can be done) two different keys for the lobs ( one for high and another for low lobs). This version gives me the feeling that you don´t really have control about what is going on, crosses are sometimes like bullets and the cpu takes care of any atempt to score (if u don´t press anything it´ll do it for u). In deffence the steal buttom sometimes is useless as well as the goalkeeper in worldclass mode (comes out when u don´t want him to) because the cpu´s keeper is ****ing SUPERMAN!!!.

how about

1. shirts getting dirty after tackling or being tackled
2. built-in Creation Center
3. Curve
4. Better Transfering
5. Give-And-Go
6. Better Customization (league, cup whatever)
7. More ways to commit a foul (what happened to that elbowing and high tackle?)
8. Moving coach
9. 3D crowds (not during the game but in cinametic like NHL 2003)
10. Dive
11. Dutch League
12. Portuguese League
13. Argentinian League
14. Auto-Saving from FIFA2002
15. Unlimited # of Seasons
16. World Cup (from Qualifications to Final)
17. 55 national teams like FIFA2002
18. more Weather
19. More Hidden stuff - hidden Stadium/Player/Tourney/Team/ etc.

some extra optional stuff

1. More Statistics - Assist, Shot on goals, etc
2. Better Halftime & Full Time presentation
3. Sub cinametics
4. Super fans - crazy fans with big hat or something
5. Hooligans after Big upsets maybe?
6. Before the game starts show the whole structure of the stadium like from FIFA 98 & WC98
7. John Motson and Ally McCoist sounds like they are reading a textbook - which is the reason y i keep commentary off
in real commentaries commentators go crazy - talking extremely fast and loud when someones about to score, etc
8. 5 Difficulty Levels (this one is from my little brother - he gets beaten badly from semi-pro but beats amateur 7 - 0 - he suggested Begginer/Amateur/Semi-Pro/Pro/WC
9. when player scores while they were losing 20 - 0 they dont celebrate that like monkeys. maybe the crowds do if its their home
10. WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - from Qualification - top 4 teams of each league play for the tickets in championship

things to keep

1. Free Kick System
2. Shooting System
3. Some of the Great chants
4. European Club Championship

and all the other things other people said,
thats all i can think of,
hope to see FIFA2004 with great improvement

I'll try to make it as brief as possible but I do have to give some background and make a few comments. First off, I've played almost every fifa release since EA's first effort back in 94, think it was called international soccer...

Okay, most of the fifa devoted put up with crap every release but we still keep going back. Not so much because we are in love with EA but because we are in love with football. I guess the hope is that some day they'll get it right. These days more than ever we want the best of both worlds. A management sim combined with the arcade feel. I mean come on, they've been times we've played CM and said, damn I put together a great squad...if only I could control the players myself. Conversely, we've all played Fifa at some time and wished we had more managerial control to just sit back and watch our players work for us...

Unfortunately, I don't think this dream release and amalgamation will come anytime soon. So for now EA (God willing our posts somehow get back to them) has to get the gameplay issues resolved. The graphics are good enough for the vast majority of us fans out there but gameplay is what makes games great.

So finally, here are my desires.

REFEREE
He ain't as bad as in previous versions. How about the occasional foul for conservative tackles. Might I add, conservative tackle should also be a hard ball winning tackle (not necessarily a slide) if well timed or the ball is "semi-loose". This could draw a foul on occasion for realism.

GOALIE
Seems they never get it right, now he punches too much. Still so far he seems to deal with backpasses somewhat better but come on, the most important thing for a goalie is to protect the goal at all costs. Even if that means conceding freekicks in the box for intentionally handling a backpass.

* And how about some pks for bad goalie tackles as well. Lastly for now, how about goalies palming or punching away or over the crossbar good but reachable freekicks on occasion instead of trying to catch or just watch.

* moving the goalie on pks ...possibly freekicks as well in conjuction with wall positioning and numbers in the wall

DEFENDING
*The 2003 defensive system is pretty good. Tackling imho is at its best especially at world class level. I also like the new "backpeddling" system.

*Return of the '98 style double\triple team summon and offside trap. And how about a GENERAL player retreat as well...not necessarily a change in formation (old 98,99 style) but just all men behind the ball until possesion is regained.

*Bad idea to add goalie charge with header button. Come on people think about it.

*Ability to move the wall was nice addition in wc2002, how about some minor encroachment as well.

AS FLUFF consider a feature for causing dissent or ref appeals. Great when against a human opponent. Might result in retake of freekicks or penalty if encroachment occured or goalie moved off line

MIDFIELD, ATTACK
*. 2003 Freekick system is very good. KEEP IT!!!!
[improvement] - back in 2000 you could get some offball player movement on setpieces. We need that back. Also, the camera angle for freekicks and corners... for goodness sake allow us to scan the entire pitch. Its up to us where we want to put the ball for kicks, cnrs and throws. Should be able to summon players close for short corners or crosses. Forget the icon junk, never bring it back...made it impossible to select both the position of the pass and type...i couldn't lob it anywhere i wanted because lob meant it went to a particular player.

*. Training mode - BUT it had imperfections in the earlier releases as well - bring it back but with more control over the number of opposition players, the roster selection for training etc.. simple management tasks.

*. I think fifa 98 (or was it 2000) had the best THROUGH ball engine. The through ball was just as directional as a regular pass but into space and ahead of the players and defenders instead of to feet. That system was way better than the currect through ball system.

*.Go back all the way to fifa96 and we had the best lob passing system ever. Depressing the shot and high lob buttons together resulted in a much lower arch and softer shallow lob. You could also add after touch to any type of pass, lob or shot in 96. That has to come back. Passing and shot placement in 96 was simple...arrow keys controlled direction...power was controlled by length of depress. Combine the best of both worlds, keep the power meter for passes, shots and lobs...bring back the shallow lob with the a+d combination..and redzone on power meter still can result in a wild effort. Aftertoch is must for all types of pass, lobs, shots and even volleys. Only headers should be exempt.

small note, 1-2 engine in 98 meant you could briefly relinquish contrl of the player with the ball to the CPU, select the highlighted pass player and move him wherever you wanted him to ..press the pass button and get the pass from the CPU. This was just absolutely brilliant for people who mastered this. It needs to come back. Also, the one two engine in 98 was just times better, you could do a 1-2 but have an auto shot queued up on the pass return for fast breaks into the box. Consider bringing back the 1-2 engine from 98.

GENERAL
*The camera angles in game, zoom must come back for us aerial (panoramic) heads. Freecam for replays.

*bigger field, the gameplay is still just a tad too fast for sim even at the slowest setting.

*More customisation of the game controls!!

*I think the current stadia, chants, flares etc.. are great...but wasn't it fifa97 that had half empty stadiums for "smaller" less important games or opponents. And the crowds don't have to be always going mad. And consider the OLE chant when the home team is winning AND keeping ball possesion late in the game.

I forget which version ...but there was a fifa which had very customisation tactics...you could move icons and position players and even [falsely] control their AUTO aggression. However, it had flaws, sometimes the player never lined up how they were supposed to but you might consider bringing it back.

* Forget the money associated with the transfer system. In fact, the transfer system contrary to what others say should be freestyle...no bids or anything. Get the gameplay right then concentrate on the "management" aspects.

Player editor etc..are all cool and should be in game but if you are gonna do an add-on like the creation centre just make it really good

Hello,

1. The finishing is unrealistic in FIFA2003 and the way they kick the ball is extremely un-real.

2. How about showing the substitutes like on TV ? Like they tab each others hands before leaving the pitch and going onto the pitch...

* Sorry for my bad English * :D

And consider the OLE chant when the home team is winning AND keeping ball possesion late in the game.
Just a quick comment on that.....Naemus

If you string around 10 or more passes together the crowd indeed will start chanting OLE...try it, I thought it was neat when I first heard it trying to kill the clock in a final match....

but besides that, carry on, exactly more or less how I feel about this whole FIFA thing

INTERNATIONAL CALL UPS!!!
When u go on to the team managment screen for international teams, you should be able to select a certain no. of any players from that country, to be in the current squad.
Also, ingame creation centre for ps2, xbox, gamecube.

I'd like to see the return of random kick off. Why the heck does the hometeam always get the kickoff??

Also fix the cheering! if the away team scores the stadium is filled with silence. At least let a small section cheer ;)

I want better controll of the line up and where everyone is standing.

cant think of anything else so.......

There must be a halftime with all its specifications.
I hope that ea sports will read this, and i say again:
There must be a full training with manager options (i've posted it), and... it doesn't matter if game is on 2, 3 or 5 cd's. The matter is that it MUST be massive. And... don't make it on DVD, couse i don't have dvd drive;)

ea must pay more atention at the tactics session.like pro evo soccer on ps2.So we can modify exactly our players' position.Custom formations!

some ongame formation change buttons like pro evo soccer.During the match for example if i press the formation change button(space for example) my formation automatically change from 442 to 352.

This header button and system must change to something more realistic not to something very difficult like now!

---COME ON EA WAKE UP......TAKE LESSONS FROM KONAMI'S PRO EVO SOCCER!!!-----

and to inlude a full creation center programme so we can edit kits ,stads...everything in the game!!!!!!!!! oh my god!!!! these guys from ea fix some stupid things and forget to iclude the good things from previous versions of fifa!!! they are short-sighted!!!
i want to make the fifa2004 !!!! i want to go at their offices and tell them all their mistakes!!!!!

until then PRO EVO SOCCER RULEZZZ

sup kman?

ok, heres what i think is needed next yr.

trainin mode. this was in fifa 01 and must be brought back. all dead ball scenarios, a trainin match, and perhaps a drill mode are needed.

every team must have a profile, where we can view team info, histry, plyer analysis, and ratings. ea just provided this for the club champ teams this yr.

we need netherlands back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know i cant request specific teams, but this is something that is necesary. they havent appeared since 01. they r a world power that simply had a hard time qualifiying in that tuff group 2 in europe for the wc. theyve got davids, kluivert, van nistelrooy, and many other stars. :rockman:

ill add more later...

netherlands rocks

and thanx kman, for postin this

ther have been numerous missing players in the past yrs

take ronaldo not being on brazil, for instance

every single team must have every single player

once again, netherlands rocks:hump:

I hate when we score a late winner or something and they don't even celebrate, they just put their hands out. I WANT THE PAYERS TO GO WILD AND JUMP ON EACH OTHER. I hate the way EA make it the first goal only then after that its rare to see another celebration. THAT SUX!!! i want it like FIFA 2002. That was the best. Every goal has a celebration.

A few more things...

1. Stronger keeper kicking.....it almost never passes the midfield!!

2. better keeper control of shots, he will even deflect the weakest of shots over the net and it looks pretty stupid when the shot is mid height!!

1. Gameplay is the most important part of a PC soccer game, so make it the primary focus. The amount of teams and leagues and competitions means nothing to me.

2. Change the heading back to the original version in previous FIFA games. "A" = high header, "S" = low header and "D" = headed shot when held down.

3. Have 2 different shooting methods. The old version where you just select a part of the goal and power-up and the player automatically shoots in the right general direction even if he is facing hte wrong way. This is very appreciated by people like me that play with a keyboard. The current shooting is fine for people with a gamepad.

4. Allow totally custom team formations and also player AI tweaking like in WC 98, (Calm.............Nutter).

5. Fix the AI problem of only reacting to human player. (If I stand still with the ball in defensive third it takes ages for the other team to challenge me).

6. Fix the problem where a defender will not leave the player he is marking no matter how close the player with the ball is. I can run from half-way and score often because I beat a defender and he chases but can't get the ball and all the other defenders refuse to challenge me becaues they are already marking another player.

7. Keep the same free kick system, but make it a bit harder to score really, really long range goals. (If I kick in the green into the top corner with curl it always scores even from miles away)

*****************************************

Overal FIFA 2003 is deffinitely the best FIFA game so far and even though it has faults it is a step int he right direction :-)

Why can't they buy the rights to the Nationwide and have promotion and relegation? I know the English league has more `major' leagues than other countries (serie C's etc in Italy surely wouldnt be needed, for example) but most countries only have a top two or three leagues so it could be done.

Promotion and relegation in a career mode would just about make this game perfect. As well as all the other suggestions made above!

Only one wish for next FIFA 200x release. Try to make game from the begining. Graphics is not only the one way to get a money for next versions of FIFA. Finish the schematics, poor gameplay and stupid players behaviour (like gookeeper running at 30m). Make something good. It is a time. I do not want to pay each time for next version of ****.

First, let me just say that EA are definitely moving in the right direction. 2003 gameplay is more realistic and player movement is getting better and better.

BUT

First, What's up with the dribblings and feints? Why are they all in the same button, shift or space?

It's very restricting. In 98 you had different feints for different buttons. ALT e, ALT w, ALT r and etc.

I want to be in complete control over what I do in tight spaces. By putting it all in one button (albeit with directions which doesn't help in the least), you're taking the options away from me.

Not only is the spontaneity dumped out the window, it is not very realistic.

I humbly suggest that for 2004, you'll take the world's best dribblers to your team and get them to display the most common feints done in the real game, and assign different buttons for them, namely the skill button + whatever letter for each feint.

I don't know how common this request is, but it is SO important for the enjoyment of the game.

I think one of the main concerns about my request is that you want to prevent a situation where unskilful players dribble past entire teams by themselves.

I share your concern, but the sollution is simple - The higher level of skill the player has in his attributes, the more likely he is to succeed in the move. That way, you make make the chances of unskilful players doing the dribble right, very low.

Another thing - In real life, Goalies drop players in the box and cause a penalty. They even receive cards for it.

Isn't it time that the same is done your game? I mean, we wanna get more realistic, don't we?

Goalies get sent off many times, and cause penalties even more. Let's not give the goalies a break for the next game. They deserve harsh treatment, just like field players.

One last thing - Tactics and formations: In 2003 it is way too rigid. There are only so many formations I can use and that's no good.

Teams today use new variations all the time.

Suggestion - Why not let us users put the players where we want them. Let them be mouse draggable or something.

Another one last thing (sorry, but it's very important) - Individual orders. Give us the option to tell players which are not in out control at a specific moment individual commands, like marking, tell player x to try and look out for something else...

I don't know. Something like that.

Gee.. I know it was long, but it's VERY important to our enjoyment, and therefore your profits.

Thanks.

I'm more concern about the time we all fifa gamers spend just to try to start the match, is there a way that EA can eliminate the time wasting to play online.

what i mean is that everytime i host my team management is alyways loaded and i don't have to re-do it all the time well this saves me time and my opponent too, so i think that EA should add that feature for both players. Lets says i going to play you good we connected and we both are ready to play now since i'm the host my opponent always has to go to his team management and do it all over again insted it should be loaded

i mean both players team managements should be loaded thats my only problem for now

another is the players skills remember fifa 99 and 2001 those games were full with players skill where you can take players on with special move i'm mad at the EA freestyle its not impressive at all but in all the game looks great its just missing some deteails

Damn, I can`t believe I forgot about this, well here it is :
- I want to be able to change the formation using drag and drop like in the WE series.
- If a player is in a total free position, I want to see him raising his hand like in FIFA 2002, but there`s no need for colour runs since it makes the game so unrealistic.
- I want more yells, you know, like in real football there`s always a player or captain that yells " C`MON !!!! " or perhaps " STUPID REFF !!! ", a real words rather than just " YEAH !!! " or " OUGH !!! ".
- I really, really want the CPU to act more active, more real, like the wing backs, get into the middle and help the centre back if you had to for God`s sake !!!!
- I want in team management, we can set something like a man to man marking, so I can set Keane to mark Rivaldo for example.
- Great job on the free kicks, but please at least make the GK to jump everytime I hit on that green area !!!!
- NO MORE PLAYERS WITH WRONG FOOT AGAIN PLEASE !!!!! ( have I posted this before ? If I had then sorry ).
- I want the injury to be more realistic, a severe ankle injury and just an ankle injury don`t have any different effect, the player only unavailable for one match. If it`s severe then make him absent for 2 or 3 weeks.
- When free-kicks is given then we can also substitute.
- The ball, try make it act like a ball, the bounces from the ground is still not good.
- Why the hell everytime I got into the next season, in ECC there`s always clubs like Perugia or WBA shows up instead the likes of Bayer Munich or Juve and Real Madrid ?
- Don`t ever you guys at EA dare to again claiming that your game rocks unless you have the guts to enter the Japanese gaming market and compete there with KONAMI`s WE face to face. KONAMI showed that they have the confidence to enter the American gaming market since they know that they`ve the better product.

That`s all, maybe for the last point, I will personally e-mail it to EA.

Don't assume that the game is perfect as is. I'm sure you guys (EA) make every effort to sell us fans a great game, but there will always be something that some of us would like changed, tweaked or slightly edited, but it seems that too much effort is spent on reducing the editability of the game. I mean, twelve individual boots? Missing teams? (like Jamaica! lol ). Do your thing, but allow us to muck about with it to our hearts content - after all, once we've bought it, it IS our game after all...
so, editability.

I'll say combination of 98 and 2003 would be pretty good, well + some new things of course. I personally would like to see crowd changing in the stadiums.....it's not always a full crowded game. Like in 98, if your team wasn't preforming well during the season, less people would come to games......just makes it more fun i think

Universal

I want to live in this game's world. Create a game that has all the aspects: great gameplay, deep stats base, and state o the art graphics...gobble as many licenses as you can, and quit forgetting - or threaten - the South Americans, Africans, Oceanic and Mexican/Central Americans (i.e., Rest of the World section must be MUCH bigger...you know very well that any soccer fan worth his salt can pick up WORLD SOCCER or some such and know that Zamalek or Esperance or Cruz Azul or Kashima Antlers are class teams, and certainly better than most of the poor teams in some "elite" leagues...)

Provide me with the ability to step in and out, telescopically of the various roles, with authenticity...the defined roles ought to be GM/Director, trainer/manager/coach, and player. I want a comprehensive experience that is just as engaging to paly at the GM/Director level as it is to play at the player, or "action" level.

EA, you must challenge yourself. Don't be daunted by the fact that you have to put out a game every year; get the model right, and people will except honest enhancements every year; you don't have to put out a whoel new game every year (see SIGAMES for examples of this)...

Focus first on gameplay; if that's not as realistic, or moreso, than PES2, than you've failed. Additionally, if the gameplay IS authentic, that lends credibiliy to the other levels of the game (i.e. GM/Director, and Trainer/Manager). I heard that Konami bought the rights to SIGAMES CM database as a statistical foundation to their AI...EA ought to do the same, or more...

I want a simulation I can take through 10, 20 even 30 years of seasons; I want to FEEL the conflict between club and country as I manage a team with players that are pulled between those two worlds...I want to have to work, as a club manager, to try to keep those players committed to the club over not only other clubs but the national team as well...and I want the option to ignore those levels of the game (i.e. set them on Automatic, if you will) entirely, and just play...

I want WUSA as a league.

I want MUCH better defensive AI, and I want much more emotion from the crowd (Example: you took the time to map away sections for various stadia in FIFA 2003, but fasiled to differentiate in cheering...when the away team score, that away section should be the only ones moving...yet they sit, motionless, like everyone else...you want to make that type of thing "detail" or vidoe card contingent? Fine...but include it...don't sacrifice your realism for notions of the "average" technology level of the user...give us options.

FIFA 2003 is the shell of what could be...but only that...to see it as anything other than the beginning of the beginning is for EA to fall back into the typical yearly pattern of just getting it out the door...we need enlightened, inspired leadership in Canada and in California...

What do you, when history takes its tally, want to have been known for? We already know that Konami's PES team is solidifying its place in history...are you going to step up and demand yours? Or are you going to evade, obfusicate and fail to be the best that you can be?

The chouice is yours...

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, 'cause I didn't have time to read through the whole thing.

The thing that has been bothering me for years about FIFA games is the skills system. It is still the usual skills-system: fitness, shooting, passing, ball control etc. In stead of using these same old genres, they should have created subcategories like PES and TIF. Example: instead of "fitness" - Stamina, Work Rate and Team-work. Instead of "shooting" - Shot power, shot accuracy, Shooting style, Free Kicks. Instead of "ball control" - technique, balance (to hold on to the ball), dribbling.
And instead of having skill values from 1 to 7 (or 10 as it is now), they should have values from 1 to 100 so there will be more difference in players. For example in FIFA 2003, Paul Scholes and Zinedine Zidane are almost exactly as good as each other, only Scholes has better tackling skills. With a new skills system, they could have had skills like this for instance (values from 1 to 100):

Zidane:
Fitness - 75
Strength - 75
Balance - 94 (he is extremely good at holding up the ball)
Work rate - 68
Teamwork - 65
Shot power - 78
Shot accuracy - 85
Shooting style - (this could be a value where you choose whether the player blasts the ball towards goal or if he carefully, and with composure, places the ball in the top corner)
Long pass power - 76
Long pass accuracy - 89
Short pass power - 83
Short pass accuracy - 97
Free kicks - 89
Dribbling - 95
Technique/ball control - 96
Jumping - 57
Heading - 76
Interceptions - 54
Sliding tackles - 49
Composure - 92
Confidence - 95 (a skill which could play a VERY big part of the players game. It should also, like in real life, change from how the player performs in games. This would make seasons more exciting)
Vision/anticipation - 92 (skill that could be useful for every player. Defenders: to know when the ball will come. Creative midfielders: to know when and where to pass the ball forward. Attackers: to know when to go on runs (van nistelrooy!))
Influence - 90 (a skill which will make the other players on the team perform better. Keane for United, Zidane for France, Beckham for England etc.)

Might have forgotten some of the important skills, but these are only examples. Anyone agree?

And. i have some BIG news which could push EA-sports to start working right away. Read:

With Konami's decision to take well known console games to the PC there is a strong possibility that Pro Evolution Soccer may be ported over.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Shadow of Memories are already confirmed, so Konami's PC push seems to be a serious one.

Also, Konami Of Europe had this to say: "We are determined that our initial PC titles match the exceeding high quality of our console titles. To this end, we aim to launch in 2003 with the strongest selection of PC titles available to us."

And if they aim to release their strongest PC lineup then surely
PES has to be one of those?

Will PES lose its gameplay in a PC port? Will it recieve online play before a PS2 version does?

We'll have to wait and see - 2003 is when the Konami games are to be rolled out onto the PC.

6. Shooting and passing that you actually suppose to make. in fifa 2003, when you press the pass or shoot button it goes in another direction sometimes
7. Goalkeeper not to come out and try tackle the other player, UNLESS, I press the button to make the goalkeeper to come out and try take the ball off the player

i think the passing model is fairly solid, and i LIKE the errant passing and interceptions. i agree that too many passes and shots go off to the side when you're aiming forward, etc. but the real problem is button carry over. if you hit the tackle button more than once you launch the ball into no-man's-land once you gain possession. there should be an immediate re-set of all actions once you gain possession so that you are in control of your next move.

My FIFA 2004 Wish List (part 1)

More moves/animations for the gameplay :

Add a bit (miliseconds) delays for animation when running players trying to shoot from long distance. They need to use their preffered foot (left or right).
When somebody get fouled, players around there raise their arms, indicating the referee or pretending to the referee that they didn't do anything. This always happened on real matches.
More moves especially on "Players-to-Players Clashes" like pulling, grabbing, holding, or another clever tactical foul.
Players with more skills can do more tricks and moves. Players with good heading can do better heading. Players with good shots can score from free kicks. Players with bad tackling can't do better tackling. Just make the different like their stats. Yeah, this far i feel like players stats are useless when it comes to the game, they all looks similar on the field.
More goalkeepers moves/animations. Sometimes the GK just walk towards the slow ball that heading to the goal which resulting a very stupid goal.
More moves after the GK punch/saves the shots but the ball still in play, so it did not renders the GK into helpless condition. And we can see the good GK (like Buffon or Kahn) really trying hard to saves their goal, their reputation and their name.
When players shots, make their head facing the ball direction.
When corner-kicks makes more moves like players grabbing each others. More moves or other clever tactical foul.
More moves when players are falling down from fouls/tackles.
Add more moves for the injured players. Heavily injured players cannot stay on the field.
Add more miscellaneous moves like, players trying to block the shots/cross, or players trying to save their goal after the GK is beaten.
When my defenders receiving opponent lob/cross pass near my goal, they often to score an own-goal because of waiting the dribbling animation. Please fix this.

When my defenders got the ball on my own defending area :

Make the opponent attackers be less aggresive and give me some space. So i can freely pass back to my GK. Makes only 1 opponent Attacker trying to distract the pass.
Opponent attackers/midfielders quickly retreating to their each position and get prepared for a counter-attack.
GK responding very fast when my defenders pass the ball to him. So no stupid "Own-Goal" or "Corner-Kicks" because of stupid passing system between my defenders to my GK.

When my attackers bring the ball towards the opponent penalty box :

Makes the opponent Defenders or Midfielders be very VERY aggresive (like in World Class difficulty) especially inside their penalty box.
Make 2 or more opponent defenders protects their GK or trying to block the shot/pass/cross.
Makes 2 or more opponent defenders aggresively marking my attacker who bring the ball inside/towards their penalty box.

System/Engine related :

Backheel pass cannot too far.
Player stats change by the age effect. For example, young player stats slowly increasing until they reach 29 but slowly drops after that.
On tactic/formation screen, shows players names. Make us more freely change the tactics, like dragging players position. Toggle on/off for every defenders overlapping. Assign who marking who. Move foward or plays defensive for individual player, etc...
More customization/editing for player head. EA should try to learn from "PSX WWF Smackdown 2 CAW Editing".
More editing for formation, captain, player numbers, etc...
Fix the Replay. On some saved replay, the player change after i load the replay. Bring back the zoom in/out and free-view.
Tackling GK while he is standing and holding the ball will receive red-card.
Unintended Hand-Ball receive no cards but just a free kick.
I never see a GK got red-carded in FIFA Games. So it is useless to put another GK in the subtitutions list. So perhaps a red-card for a GK who try to block the player not the ball.

And many more to come from me, just wait..... (to be continue)

Aloha EA !!! I must say I'm not quite satisfied about FIFA 2003 . It has very good parts , and some little things , but you are the best so you can improve ... For the next FIFA I want :
1. Realistic golas ... harder to score
2. When you shoot near the post , why is the ball going through the net when it hits the comercial (excuse my grammar pls)
3. Improve the headers
4. Player appearence is good , but it can be improved ...

I hope that you will respect your fan's wishes , because you are the best and you can do it !!! 10x EA !!! :)

how bout a power bar on the shooting that has something like this....a bit hard to explain...pretend each word is a bar...
hit...miss...hit...hit...hit...miss...hit...miss.. .etc....the good players would have a lot of hits, the ****ty ones will have more misses. this would make it possible for people to miss easy shots. if the bar stops on a miss...or a red bar, it would go wide or something.
you know how the power up bar is all green, just throw some reds in there and if you release on a red, it goes wide.

i dunno if anyone has mentioned, but i have an important wish. This also could be solved by making a DVD instead of lots of CDs, but if Cds, there should be a solution for the leagues to take part in FIFA games.
Each year the leagues change, plus this year, Even Dutch league, also Greek and Portuguese league (oh yeah Turkish legue also was added in FIFA2000) are removed) luckily Israeli league also. But If they remove all these leagues, MAN WHY TO PUT ALL OF THE NORDIC LEAGUES?!?!?!?! My biggest question mark on FIFA 2003 has been this, but thanx to ÝfafaTurkey, i could have the chance to play my own league. (I won't comment about the K-league disaster :/ )
Neways, I strongly support the DVD soln if they're gonna make it more and more compressed and worthless as trying to make new and "better" things.
addition: if they made up a league of the teams in "rest of the world" there would come a better league than belgian or swedish league.am i wrong?

You guys at EA should really make a training mode next year (practise makes perfect) because it is rally annoying when you get a free kick outside the penalty area and don't have a clue of how and where you should shot and aim. And maybe you could add specific player chants or something (like if Roy Keane tackles Owen from behind at anfield maybe the home crowd starts booing when Keane gets the ball).
P.S dioveL_Grotesq whats wrong with the swedish league? D.S

Hello

I would like to add to all of the above:

Being able to edit shoes

Goalkeepers running up the field for a corner when you are one goal down with very little time to go

Classic Games (United-Bayer '99, Uruguay-Argentina '30, Brazil-Italy '70 or something like that)

Classic stadiums f.x. Maracana though there is no home team

Add teams like Boca, River, Zamalek and stuff to rest of world

Substitution cinematics

Free Cam for instant replays

Show added time on clock

Improve National Teams section and add a special world ranking list for the game(Like Virtua Striker)

Edit teams homeground (Like FIFA RTWC '98)

Add more entertaining goal celebrations

Add lower leagues (So you can continue the game though your team is relegated)

Weather features (Not only choose the weather but include when weather changes, maby it starts raining in second half or stops or whatever)

Include streakers, referee injuries (And more injuries overall), cards to the bench for bad language, powers out, and lots of other fun things like every 50 games

Maby show an airplane sometime when looking at the sky or birds at the field

Lightnings in rain

I know this is much and maybe hard to fullfill but it would make this game more real

Andreas

I agree with you numer20. Classic matches would be great, but it would be better with just classic teams instead of classic matches. It would be cool to play with teams like Juventus '97 (Ravanelli, Vialli, Del Piero, Peruzzi), Ajax '96 (Davids, Kluivert, Kanu, De Boers), Man Utd '94 (Cantona, Bruce, Ince, Hughes, Kanchelskis)!

- Training mode - please release this at least on the PC, we havn't seen one for ages and all the other football games on other platforms have got one!!!

- Creation Centre - instead of making us download a huge 30MB file, please include one IN THE GAME, on ALL PLATFORMS, perhaps with stadium creator aswell, which lets you select the parts from different ends in the ground (eg in LMA Manager)

- Handballs - will make this game alot more realistic, but do not make them occur too often, like in This Is Football

- More faces - I know you've included alot this time around, but try and include more and more please, perhaps with the whole of the premiership faces in

- CURLING THE BALL - How could you leave this out!!!!???? This is one of the most important things in the game, especially when playing across field balls, and virtually ANY pass whould have SOME CURVE on it!! Also on shots, many in real life curl from long ways out, not just in free kicks!!

- Long balls (lobs) need to be more realistic - it is obvious you have tried to copy pro evolution soccer with this, as the ball just gets hoofed up in the air, and its hard to get on the end of the ball

- Heading - its too hard to head the ball at the moment and the heading controls are tricky

- Better cinematics (including substitutions - this is really poor) i love the special ones such as the beckham celebration, but there aren't many others or they just dont come on enough!

- Commentary - This is very good, but can you please add more commentators, so that we can pick from a selection? I know this would take up time and disc space, but its worth it! Afterall, we saw it in World Cup '98, I wish it had stayed in the game! I remember this feature used to also be in FA Premier League Stars, when either Clive Tydsley or Martin Tyler was on.

- Replays - Give us a free cam because this has been fantastic in the past years, I dont have a clue why you should have missed this out. Its in other football games too!

- Cameras - Bring back the zoom feature

- In this version, you have put in some brilliant stuff, but you've then taken out some of the good old stuff, so bring it back in!!

- Tackling - Use 'hook' tackles as well as forward slides!

- More skill moves

- Classic mode, like in FIFA 2000, that was pretty cool

- More player sig. , moves, such as Darius Vassell's lovely turns and skills, watch him playing for Aston Villa/England, and any other players do the same!!

- Beckham should chip the ball forward like he does in real life - he cuts underneath the ball

- More fouls - we need more freekicks if you're not going to give us training modes - but give us this too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY IMPROTANT TO HAVE TRAINING!!!!!!!!!

- Modes such as World Cup, FA Cup, UEFA Cup, Champions League, Worthington Cup, Euro 2004 etc.

- Include an indoor stadium(s) - like in FIFA '97.

- More chants for each team, EVERY TEAM

- More stadiums - in Actua Soccer 3, most teams have accurate stadiums, and that game was made way back in 1998! Surely you have the ability to do better!!

- More options - such as decide on day, night, weather (include snow, rain, cloudy, hot), and more detail options like in other PC games.

- No flashing shirts! Really annoying!!

- Better animation - the animation in 2003 is OK, but after playing the game for a while, it gets boring - needs ALOT MORE VARIETY - so get some more motion capture, with MORE PLAYERS, at least 100 (ok I know thats a bit too far, but it will improve the games realism by a long way!!!

- A GOOD GAME FOR 2003, BUT STILL NEEDS ALOT OF IMPROVEMENT!! GET SOME MORE STAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey guys :)

well, I agree with 90% of what has been said before, I would like to see a normal television score as well appear at the bottom when a goal has been scored, with the players name and the minute they scored in, I'd like instead of Motty and Ally I'd love to see Jim Proudfoot and Alvin Martin from Talksport on there :) they'd be superb, I'd also like to see diving back in the game, as well as being able to take corners in the old way, but leave free kicks with this new feature.....I'd like to see EA push to get more licenses, like the FA Cup for example, gather a english EA team together to help them collate information about many clubs and build it into a FA Cup competition with loads of minnows like my beloved Barnet (hehe :D), hmm what else......oh yeah, seeing substitutions take place again would be nice! also some violence :) I want to be able to get my own back on roy keane :O) nah scrap the violence bit... well, a ingame UNLIMITED editor and a external fully useable editor would be nice, I am sick of playing with teams that have a name longer than a elephant's goolies, I want to be able to change Real Betis Balompie to just say Real Betis, and many other teams like that.....EA you are DEFINETLY going in the right direction but you really have to listen to all the users of the game, I know its probably impossible to have every league everybody wants in the game, there are so many people here that want a league added, but games like Mafia came out on 3 cd's so perhaps do the same thing? I dont see the problem with releasing it over 3 cd's, if we get a lot more then do it :O) if need be scrap making a Euro 2004 game and concentrate on the follow up to Fifa 2003.

Cheers,

My fifa wishlist is

1) More leagues (Greek, Argentina,)
2) Flags, chants, and banners for all teams
3) More Stadiums (some Greek stadiums please
4) Uefa Champions League
5) Uefa Cup
6) Better Transfer System
7) No made up tournaments (ladder)
8) Cinematics (subs,players,coaches)
9) lower divisions
10) some classic teams
11) Career mode
12) More balls
13) snow
14) Real time, weather effects, and how about when you start at 4:00 in the evening the time changes from day to night
15) When it rains it can stop, or will rain much harder, or while playing it will start raining.
How about matches delayed because of bad weather, or bad pitch conditions
16) More refs, and be able to choose your own ref

That is my wishlist.

Please EA do this stuff, I am sure that many people want this stuf that I want also.

hey man i didn't say the Swedish league has sumfin wrong. Wud i mean is there are more leagues which are equal to Nordic leagues (icluing swedish league) but i counldn't understand why EA removed those leagues but just put so many nordic leagues. Got it? Plus i still say a league made of the 'rest of the europe' teams would be a very good league.

For example, my previous game against Newcastle, I played to sub Heskey in the 70th minute. However, he never got in because the ball never went out.

So why didn't you just hoof the ball out of play? If it was a critical substitution then thats always an option - unless you never got yhe ball for "20" minutes ;)

I cant remember a lot of ideas ive had but a few i can think of from the top of my head that i dont think anyones mentioned :

*conservative foul- you can make a foul by trying a conservative tackle when you are behind your opponent, the player would try and drag the other back by his arm, sometimes could result in yellow card, some not. Also, i think the two yellow card rule for a suspension is a good idea as it makes you use more players from your squad as there are hardly no injuiries.

*free-kick system- keep this system but develop it more. as when you choose the curve amount that generates its own power when it shouldnt. If you try a drive it goes high, so after you have chosen the curve you should still keep hold of the button which goes straight on to the power bar. this would vary it up and not make it too easy to score. Also, if a free-kick is on target the keeper should save pretty easy shots as you can scroe 40 yarders quite easily, feels more rewarding by beating him when he just cant reach it or it is too good.

* Injuries- players should be able to pick up injuries in various ways ie- 1. Off the field, could be injured training. 2. by falling over awkwardly- tackle, over the keeper, falling from an awkward shot or cross, head collision etc... 3. Pulling muscles- see a player sprinting up the field and suddenly up (injury prone or has not fully recovered from last injury, only 80% fit) They should have a personal section when slecting them on the line-up to show how it hapened and a general period they're out for like 3 weeks.

*Penalties- use the freekick system in penalties as people who are not very good at them, the bar would be moving quite fast or if a player is very nervous (cup final or important match). Every player seems to be the same, the free-kick power bar would also be ideal.

*Stats- Make more stats that affect in game play. Agressiveness- player would make a lot more tackles (inc. slides). Set-pieces- would distinguish who is good and affect the speed of each persons accuracy bar and also green target eg 7/7 is quite slow while 1-7 is far too fast to control. included in throw-ins (power bar as well) pens, freekicks, goal kicks. corners. etc...Another stat of World Reputation that would affect the value percentage wise as good players sometimes under valued or good youngsters over valued.

*Keepers- make a lot better in circumstances, as goals seem to be to similar. when shots are close to the keeper they seem to fall down instead of dive, they should save relatively close shots easily and hold on to shots that are fired from a far distance more like 25/30 yards. they should be able able to make tip saves like just tipping it round teh post and over the bar to make it look a better save, especially with a good keeper. Some might have tendancy to a ball like once every 30 odd games or less depending on qualtiy or even morale of keeper, like from catching off shots, crosses, slicling back passes when rushed.

*Morale- to set-up a morale you should have to specify the type of role the player is playing for the club- ie important player, rotation, back-up, youth prospect. The amount of games they miss depending on their repuation could be affected or if subbed a lot or current team form. also could work in transfere system as some players would rather play regularly for their club than rotation for yours. Players may also request a transfer.

*Game stats- if they are having trouble with who is good and bad they should take them from from Champ manager. They could also do it similar by have marks out of 20 instead of the 10 they have, there seem to be too many good players in the game. can also use the potential ablility as a percantage rise in stats if the player plays quite a few games or could rise slowly in not playing. Older players should retire and say so during the season if they plan to at the end of the current season, different ages for different people and randomsied fordifferen seasons so Keown for example could retire first at 36. but when started all over again could do so at 37 the next time.

in-game GOOD creation centre. thumbnails for faces. field-type selection for position. more facial hair options. head back to 2001 and build on that, you won't go wrong. maybe even option to build your own face types (eyebrows/eyes/nose/forehead/mouth/chin etc). Believe me, it's what many of your pundits reeeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllly want (make a team consisting of your friends/enemies, then win with/thrash them):p

The goalie just watches the ball going in on free kicks because it´s SCRIPTED ! If he tried to get to the ball he would do it easily because he jumps too quickly and the goal is too small... Shooting - goalies interaction should be totally rebuilt in Fifa...

In Fifa 2004 there MUST be a decent training mode !!!

You see, in WE 6 there is an absolutely brilliant training mode !! Even my girlfriend LOVED TO PLAY IT !! Because it almost becomes a different game, where you get challenged by the basics of football:

- Having to run with the ball through cones quickly enough to qualify;

- Having to shoot in targets on goal to get points to qualify;

- Having to make long passes on floor targets to qualify, etc etc.

It´s so stupid that there isn´t even any training mode in Fifa 2003...

I want to see a player fall as another player holds down his body while running alongside him,

different fall animations would be a nice addition, as would handballs ( on the ground as well as in the air) and none of it should be scripted!!

Like Madden 2003, I would like to see turf marks that stay at the sameplace a slide tackle has been made, dirty uniforms during the games in the rain would be really cool!

The throwins have to be redone, they really piss me off, I sometimes want to throw it ahead of a player, it seems anywhere you aim the cursor, it will always go to the legs of the closest player and it takes like 2 seconds for him to process the ball before you can really do anything with it

Far away free kicks and static goal kicks should have a power meter, there is no way 99% of pro keepers can't reach the midfield mark on a goal kick (this was good in 2002)

Yes, they need these things, but they shouldn't just take the keeper A.I from PES, as you'd score and score and SCORE with the shooting system kept as it is!

You'd need to balance it out, the easier it is to beat the keepers, the harder it gets to direct the shot! NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND!

The balancing between them both would need a lot of beta testing though, as I'm sure they'd be things in there which would be crap!

One more thing, I want the player to change mood from matches to matches. You know, like in PES, when the arrow is pointing down, that means the player is currently not in the mood, and will play not at his best. And if the captain`s mood is down, the whole team will be affected.

Teams/leagues from the Americas, and i dont mean a better MLS or Brazilian league, instead, keep those two and add on the Argetina and Mexico league, because imo those are the best leagues from the Americas.

And if they cant put in these leagues for whatever reason, they should at least put in 5 teams each from Mexico and Argentina in the Rest of World section (Cuz seriously, why is it called :drevil:Rest of World:drevil: if it only has European teams?)

Mexico:
1)Toluca
2)Guadalajara
3)America
4)U.N.A.M
5)Cruz Azul

Argentina:
1)Boca Jrs.
2)River Plate
3)Independiente
4)Racing de Avellaneda
5)San Lorenzo

I own the PS2 version of the game so all comments are from a my perspective as a console owner:

1. Green grass- on cloudy days the grass looks o.k, but on sunny days it always looks like it has not rained for a year. Note to ea: grass is green, not yellow.

2. A creation center for consoles- This has been a popular feature on consoles for years, but in '2003' it was missing. As I said, this was a POPULAR FEATURE ea sports. Veron is not black, Baros has shorter hair etc. etc. Liverpool also need me back in the side.

3. User controlled weather/day & night- It is no good having certain aspects being totally authentic, such as kits and player faces, if we are all forced to play champion's league games in the middle of the day. Not realistic. Also, we should have a choice of weather in the pre-game menu.

4. Stadium selection. - I think that it is understood that every teams stadium is not going to be present any time soon. In light of this I think that we should be able to choose which stadium any given game (not just frendlies) is going to be played at. In this way we can choose a stadium from the available list which at least approximates the stadia of the teams which do not have their own in the game. For example, playing away against Bolton as Liverpool I was forced to play in a three-tiered oval arena, which really detracted from the authenticity. Bolton at a stadium similar to the Nou Camp? The ground of Anderlect (spelling?) would have been preferable to me, or the open square style as they are both more 'English looking'.

Overall I think that the game is a massive improvement, but I think that EA Sports need to give us back some of the freedom of choice in certain areas which have added so much to the games in the past
With Konami adding to the amout of editing available in this years incarnation of the PES series, I feel that not doing this could end up costing EA dearly. :mrpimp:

Here's what I think EA should do for 2004:

-Keep up with all of the authenticity. Expand the amount of teams and players that are prefectly recreated.

-Play lots of PES/WE and try to imitate all of the good things (such as gameplay aspects), while keeping it unique. Honestly, it'd be boring if they were essentially the same game, so a hybrid game would be great.

-Incorporate a Franchise Mode of some sort, but still keep a normal Season Mode. Other modes should be Friendly, Club Championship, Tournament, and Training.

-Bring back the Creation Centre for the consoles.

-Expand on the amount of attributes for players.

-Increase the amount of options to about the level of other EA Sports games such as Madden or NHL.

-Can't think of anything else right now.

I would like to applaud EA, however, for how far they came this year. Let's all hope they can improve as much next year as they did this year. I have a hunch that they will; for some reason I have faith in EA to come through again. They better for their own good, too, because of WE6 being released here in the US next year and that could mean some major competition in the States. Don't let me down EA.

Peace,

Dont know if either of theese have been said but ...

1.I really love the feature in NHL where you can lock to one player and play as them. This would be really good in Fifa, and would brin us a step closer to my dream of the Career Mode - where you play as one player through his career. Like that will ever happen though :|:|

2. The ref should play advantage, eg if you shoot or pass to a player in the box but then get clattered late should wait to see if you score, then go back and deal with the foul.

How about making the game on more than 1 CD for once?So you can put everything possible(From training mode,Creation center,to choosing boots or even choosing the colour of your lace LOL,well maybe that's a little too much :) )instead of taking out stuff in order to put new stuff...

And the game just getting more expensive huh ? FIFA 2002 got the editing, FIFA 2003 got the gameplay ( not much, but not bad ), just combine them, is that so ****ing hard to do EA ????

Yea I'm serious,I wouldn't mind FIFA being on 4 CDs if it means having everything in there.People Nowadays have huge hard disks and not many would mind having 2+ gigs of FIFA on their comp. It's going to be more expensive but there are alot of games on 4 CDs these days and people buy them...Considering all the time you'll spend playing and enjoying the game it's VERY worth it.

Play WE6: Final Evolution for PS2, and basically turn that into a PC game, but with FIFA kits, etc...and the introduction of handballs!!!!

Also, the computer should foul more, having one free kick every 5 games in not realistic!!!

1. How about giving us a FIFA that doesn't take away one option before giving another?
-there was stadium selection in FIFA 99, and then it was removed, and now it came back in 2003. why did EA remove it?
-also in FIFA 99, what happened to weather selection and night and day selection?
-what happened to using ball spin in the open field?
-what happened to the great team management options of years pass?
-what happened to the aggressive tackle? if i want to take a guy out and risk the getting the red card, i should be able to.
-what about In Game Management, where you don't have to press start, pick up the mouse, and click-click-click to the team management menu, just to go on the attack?
-creation centre? (no more of this 30MB download crap that is super-limited in functionality deletes your user files)
-practice mode? (how else can a person get better at free kicks?)
understand changing things to make the game better, but why simply remove things that users obviously like (especially things that are optional).

2. also, I think a key issue is open-endedness. hand balls should be possible. the goalkeeper should be capable of taking a guy out on a one-on-one and getting a card (if the user wills it) - he does it anyway in 2003, there's just no repercussions. see: aggressive tackle (above). what about incorporating aspects of TCM/having more strategy to it outside of actually playing (someone else wrote something about making money based on winning cups/the league, and being able to reinvest that, and i agree)? obviously, all the more rare events like handballs and the like shouldn't happen all the time, but they should be POSSIBLE.

3. everything should be able to be edited (as much as possible), and as easily as possible. that's what gives the game longevity.

4. a passing system that combines accuracy and power, allowing the user to lob passes that aren't 8-directional (for us users who don't have analog gamepads) and can actually go to the desired player. "B" passes are too automatic and lob passes aren't too uncontrollable in 2003. the one-touch aspect this year is good, though.

i would like to say good job, though, EA, with the kits and faces and stadia for 2003.

Things wrong with fifa2003

- You can't get any power, direction or hieght on headers, and the are very difficult to make as it is, the system of fifa2002 shouldn't have been changed.
- Lobbing is very inacurate, once again the system of fifa2002 shouldn't have been changed.
- Smart Passing Goes inacurate when you get past the half way line, whatever the pressure put on you by the cpu, almost as if that half is filled with gas and the players can't think straight.
- Through ball passing is inconsistant, you send a player on a run beond the defence, and send the ball ahead, and the players stops and the ball gets played straight to where he started.
- Player Runs have to be triggered, they should be automatic like in fifa 2003, because by the time you've triggered it and looked to see were the player is runing, the player in position gets disposesed.
- Players in the penalty area are completely static, there should be movement. And from freekicks.
- Free Kicks when you want to pass it short are stupid as you can't properly judge you are passing it too and severall times i've had a free kick which my goalie takes and I thought I was passing to my defender but I passed it straight to the striker who scored.
- Goal kicks don't even cross the half way line, there should be a power and hieght meter to judge it like in 2002.
- The defence clears crosses automatically.
- Rebounds ALWAYS go to the team cpu, they never come to you so you can score or clear.
- It is hard to select the right defender when defending.
- You can't change formation during a match, only before.
- Skill moves are hopeless, as you just get tackled.
- Slide tackles are not heavy enough, they have to be just right to make a tackle or you miss.
- Slide Tackles are totally unrealistic, in wc 2002, some special players tackled realistically, if all players did that it would be better.
- If you get free kicks on the green part then whatever happens goalkeepers will miss it, even if its easy to save.
- There should be a way of the goalkeepers throwing the ball long, not just to the nearest back player.
- You can't head the ball when the opposition are'nt challanging you.
- The players off the ball defending should have better reactions and quicker changes of directions, according to fifa rules the player who despite his ability, who has the ball to keep under control at the same time, change directionmuch faster, why is this? When I have the ball and change direction, I then like to immediantly change back, however because the defender is still in the same position as he is too slow, he is not fooled by this and takes the ball.
- The opposition block the ball too much, and when they do, they seem to have instant control, even if it is in the air at waist hieght.
- The slide tackle should vary like the skill button does, for example, if a player is passing or shooting the ball high, the player could jump and block this, a third example is if it was in the air, and you press a the the player could do either a header if high enough or the kind of tackle which breakes bones! This would add a great element to the game!
- A feature much wanted is a dive, which would be cool as its an increasing topic in the game, or even a hack button, which I think featured in fifa 2000
- Even in amateur, a Darrius Vassell can't outpace a Laurent Blanc.
- The cpu closes down too quickly in and around the half way line, if you watch real football, usually teams have space up until about the final third, I don't mind this happening in world class but not in amateur and semi-pro surely not!
- Injured Players don't act very injured they just act eh same but with a hospital sign underneath them!

And dont take out the good things.

The things above are only gameplay.

Also:

Game takes too long to laod
Subs don't have cinematic
Goal Celebration Cinematics aren't long enough.

The ref should give the GK a yellow card if he wastes time on taking the goal kick, c'mon this happens in real life matches.

in addition, rarely when you find the ball hit the corner flags and go back, it is still in play..this would be a good feature to add..

Some other things EA should consider:

* Subs warm up behind goals and adboards during matches.
* Increase pitch size, in fifa 2003 players reach the box in only 3 seconds..

That's all for now..

-crowd who watch game can get on field and match is over(0-3)
-some little fights on crowd
-better celebrations when each player score a goal, during 10 or more seconds, not like this, only 2 - 3 seconds
-Training mode(WHERE CAN I PRACTICE IN FIFA 2003???)
-CHANGE THIS OLD Flags on corners!! they are from 1998 !
-Make to choise 2-3 kin of nets and balls
-Club Championship with 32 teams, 2 leagues(you start from 2nd league)
-more greener grass
-faster pass with "W" button
-realistic moves
-BETTER GOALKEEPER
and finaly:
-bigger back(on template to edit)

1.Make the fans look realistic
2.Realistic gameplay
3.In fifa 2004 they should put all the championships-BULGARIA,Greece,Turkey and etc.
4.The players should look more realistic
5.When a goalie makes a foul on a player from the other team the ref should give him at least a yellow card!
6.All the fans should sing songs from the beginning till the end of the game.

MY FIFA 2004 WISHLIST (in no particular order):
1) Training Mode. Make it like in EURO 2000 with goals to attain.
2) Substitution Cinematics
3) More replays
4) Referee, Ball AND Kit selection before match
5) Coin-toss (like in UEFA Champions League games)
6) Real boots for players (not just crappy EA Sports ones) and make them shared so we can have specific boots for every player
7) Better tactics selection (individual player instructions)
8) More Stadia!!!
9) More national teams (like Wales, Scotland, Netherlands, etc.) with official licences (EA has the money, they might as well use it)
10) BETTER CREATION CENTRE. The current one sucks like sh*t (and I can't use it cos my graphics card is f*cked. I can only get 24 bit graphics)
11) More in-game and out-of-game statistics
12) Better headers (make it specified to players' location on the pitch and where the user wants it to go)
13) OFFICIAL NAME AND NUMBER FONTS!!! The current ones look nothing like the ones in real life.
14) Penalties for when keeper dives at striker's feet and doesn't get the ball
15) Handball fouls (yellow card if it "looks intentional")
16) Make "keeper charge" and "header" on seperate buttons (you should make headers like previous versions. i.e. shot = d, pass = s, etc.)
17) Faster keeper reaction time and don't make the keeper dive from a blocked shot. He should also get up quicker.
18) Better tackles. You have to get the tackle just right in 2003, but in earlier ones, the defender would hook the ball away if the tackle was not quite right.
19) International Selection
20) OFFICIAL KITS FOR EVERY TEAM. If you can't get official kits, don't include the team
21) Make the Champions League officially licenced.
22) Put more teams in the "Rest of the World" section, like Zamalek or Al Ahly
23) More random stuff, like streakers (VERY RARELY), broken goalposts (also very rarely), ball changes (rarely), diving (not so rare) and fighting players (between players with high aggression ratings)
24) More diverse EA FreeStyle options
25) We MUST be able to select the captains in the Team Management screen
26) A half-time pause menu. Why can't I make subs at half-time?!?! Oh, that's right. There's no half-time menu
27) FREE CAM!!!! I want the Free Cam back for my replays
28) Bring back the "1-2 Pass" button and the changing of tactics by one button aswell
29) BRING BACK THE INDOOR STADIUM
30) Give us some cinematics from inside the players tunnel
31) I want my players with a speed rating of 10 to be able to outpace another player with a rating of 9 or less
32) Better crowd animation. They look so flat and lifeless ;)
33) Views of the substitutes bench, so we can see what EA think the managers should look like, and so we can get tracksuits and stuff.
34) Better facial expressions for players
35) Make more than one player go around the ball at free kicks, so that the opposition doesn't know which one will take it.
36) Match facts at the end of the match, not just half-time
37) Linesmen using flags for both directions, not just one way and using the hand for the other.
38) Multiple bookings from fouls, and argumentative players, so they argue with the ref.
39) Last-gasp option of bringing keeper up for corners
40) Slow down the power-up meter. I have it on slowest but it's still too fast.
41) Drop-balls if players are injured
42) DIY stadia. We should get to build our own stadia, choosing the number of tiers, roof cover or not, etc.
43) More accurate player ratings
44) Short/long sleeves and shorts/trousers for keepers
45) At the end of big matches (local derbies, semi-finals and finals, etc.) fans should invade the pitch
46) National anthems for international matches and cup finals
47) More unlockable rewards (stadia, teams, players, tournaments)
48) More fouls for obstruction, shirt tugging and mid-air battles for headers
49) More interaction with the weather, i.e. wet shirts, bad bouncing of the ball (when it rains), sweaty players (if it's hot), etc.
50) More individual faces and make the current ones more realistic. Make them look like the players that they're supposed to be. And don't put in unnecessary faces for the CC (who the f*ck is face 463, anyway?)
51) Make the difference between the difficulty levels a bit less. I jumped from being able to win 5-0 on amateur to losing 3-0 on semi-pro
52) International teams should have 11 subs, but club teams should have 5 subs and the teams in European competitions should have 7 subs.
53) Auto-saves and deletable games
54) World Cup qualification (like FIFA 2002) WITH FINAL TOURNAMENT
55) Full view of the stadium in the pre-match build up
56) More control over keepers, i.e. making them move for free kicks & penalties.
57) Different television customisations (pop-ups, scoreboards, clocks, logos, etc.)
58) Bring back set-piece plays. The players are NOT static at corners. Make them jostle for positions and maybe even give penalties for over aggressive "jostling".
59) Make the players shout more in "On the Pitch" audio mode. I want to be able to hear the different players calling for the ball and warning their team-mates about oncoming opponents, etc.
60) Don't listen to any of these plonkers who say that they want more non-playing staff in each team. The idea of the game is to make a football simulation, not a management sim. That's what Championship Manager and TCM are there for
61) And don't put in the women's leagues either (unless you're gonna get Brandi Chastain to rip off her shirt as a celebration).
62) Get some people from Europe (who actually know the game) to test it and tell you how to make it better.
63) Give the players more attributes so that their play is more random and dependant on their attributes.
64) Show the injury time clock. I miss it so much. I want to know how much injury time has been played.
65) I want to be able to save the goal celebrations as replays :(

Anyway, apologies for the large amount of complaints. All I want is basically an amalgamation of all the FIFA games from 1998 to 2003. But finally, if all of these are implemented, I think that EA will HAVE to put FIFA 2004/2005 onto a DVD.

I hope my suggestions are well received. Thanks a lot.

MORE difficulty levels, about 6 would be GREAT! make it so that the first level is pretty easy, but NOT very easy and make the hardest one, VERY hard to beat the CPU, VERY hard to get past defence and break the, DON'T make it hard so that you can score piss, but the CPU cheat and score 10 goals! make it so that the CPU are very hard to break down and hard to defend against, but this would have to change sometimes due to the new AI tactics, so more tactics are welcome!

Make it so that you can't just PLAY GOOD, but have to play a long time to start PLAYING GOOD, making it playable though and VEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY hard to master.

1. Refs should be part of the game. i.e. the ball can hit the refs just as it hits the players.

2. Sports spirit should exist in "Fifa" pc games as well. for example, when a player is injured, the opposite team should shoots the ball out of the pitch.

3. In the last few mins of an important match, say a final match in a cup, the goalie of the team which is behind by one goal should go in an attempt to score a goal, in case of a corner kick.

My wishlist (PS2) is simple:

Just take the best from all versions and make it into one game, with the manditory slight improvements in graphics/animations, commentary, and AI.

1) The engine is great in 2003- the free ball is great.
2) Ball curve from 2002.
3) Ability to actually aim the ball (upper left, lower right) from, well, the 3DO version of FIFA (1999?)
4) FIX THE FREESTYLE CONTROLS, so you can actually do combo moves that actually work and don't just look good.
5) bring back the FREECAM replay!!!

Also, it'd be nice if the AI didn't cheat (much less in 2003) in order to get harder. It shouldn't be so easy to take the ball away, rather it the defense should shore-up, the goalie should be more aggressive, etc.

It's time to combine all the best features into the best FIFA ever, instead of focusing on radical changes each year!

Other addons
1. Don't just use freestyle for skills whilst moving with the ball, be able to use a freestyle pass (like henry's pass against middlesbrough on saturday where he put his foot over the ball and brought it back and passed 2 pires)

2. BE ABLE TO CURVE THE BALL! EA u r adding in great new things, BUT DELETING OTHER THINGS, MOST OF WHICH R CRUCIAL!

3. Be able 2 header the ball when a player isn't near, i mean, u r trying to make the game realistic, may i ask WHAT is realistic about only one team being allowed to header the ball!?!?!?

4. When u want to volley the ball, b able 2 actually volley it!? and to choose what kind of volley (short pass, long pass, through ball, shoot)

5. Computer being offside more often

6. Computer fouling more often.

7. Other ways of fouling/tackling. e.g. shoulder barge, shirt tug etc.

8. In the English league, where's the Worthington Cup?

9. TRAINING MODE!

10. The in-game creation centre (it was so much easier and better because you could see the changes!)

11. More help from your team's other players (when your watching a match, it's quite often to see more than one person try and tackle one person, it's usually 2 or 3, or sometimes 4, the players on your team don't do anything unless you be them.

12. Be able to curl from all set pieces which u use your feet in (corners, far out free kicks, goal kicks etc.)

13. When you are on a one on one, most players usually dummy the keeper and drag the ball away from them and tap it in because the goalkeeper is usually on the floor by then, in FIFA 2003 when the keeper goes near you he will DEFINITELY get the ball!

14. Thanks for reading. The game is supposed to be real, all the statement's i've said in the game are things that you do see in the game, pls EA make these changes!

bye

most of the things i want to see changed has been said.....im just wondering if the makers of the games actually look at these suggestions and take them into consideration....cause many of these things that are wanted are really common sense and anyone one who enjoys playing games would want things added...especially if many of the options we want were in previous versions of the game.

I want FIFA series be more PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER -like!
There are too much things to list, but they should play PES2 and figure up what is so good in it. And then of course, maybe little copy it. :)

And good Franchise Mode would be great! Like in PES2. You would have to make contracts with players and survive with your budget. And it would be great if players' skills would increase or decrease, depending of how much have they got playing time in previous season. And things like that, it's just important that you get the idea.

People. I can just say that you don't worry about quality of the next football game from EA. I have information that studios in Canada which made FIFA series are shutting down, and new studios of EA Sports are opening in EA United Kingdom. Well... they are opened right now:) This game FIFA 2003 made EA United Kongdom, so... huge improvement in the game we must thank to them, couse what they did, guys in Canada wouldn't do in next 10 years.
And, big information that this new game won't be called like always FIFA, but somehow different. In this time I don't know exactly how, but I'll get that information to you.
So, there will be no more FIFA games. FIFA is history, and FIFA project is shutting down. Guys from EA UK say that this new game will be something absolutely different.

What i would like to see if have one setting for difficulty of opponent and another setting for quality of opposition keeper, as professional is a good level to play at but the keeper is slightly easier to beat, it would make it more enjoyable and gives you a lot of situations to deal with to allow you find your best siuted one. Ive seen it somewhere before but dunno if it was PES or not, cant remember.

It looks to me like a lot of you guys want more playable gameplay, which is fine, but if EA are to do this they MUST make the a.I a LOOOOT more difficult to play against.

If FIFA 2003 was much more playable, but the a.I was kept the same and if this was sold as FIFA 2004, then it'd be crap, cause the game would become far to easy, as the player would have to much open to him/her. (which is good, but what makes it bad, as the A.I wouldn't be able to cope with all the different ways of spiltting them open and breaking the defence, it would be really stupid.

So if EA are going to make 2004 a game that offers LOADS more features, tactics and animations that are linked with different ways of attacking/defending, then so be it, but makes the A.I be able to vcope with EVERYTHING and attack just as fairly and cleverly. :)

I love pretty much everything how it is.
Some things i hate are the goal celebrations.
There is nothing wrong with the current ones but come on
teams dont just celebrate their first goal. When the cpu scores
an equaliser they just stick their hands out end of story. What
the hell is that? they're supposed to go wild and celebrate
like no tomorrow. TEAMS SHOULD CELEBRATE EVERY GOAL.
that is all i'm asking. It makes it so boring when you score a late
goal and all they do is stick their hands out like nothing happened.
For those who don't like the goal celebrations and prefer them
how they are then why don't EA put them in options somewhere.
We can enable them or disable them anytime we want.
Please EA do something about them. It's unbelievably boring
when we score.

thanks for the chance......

3 things EA MUST MUST include are.........

1. Creation centre inside the PACK....no download PLZ.

2. WING BACKS and WING MIDFIELDERS in the formation.

3. 1-2 passes MUST be returned.

otherwise its a wonderful game.....few things to improve...

******FORMATION********

1. bring back the formation modes like 2002.

*******PLAYERS**********

1. bring back the FIFA2002 attributes ....like captain arm band.etc

2. How about gloves and anklets...few players may be distinguished from other...

*******ENVIRONMENT**********

1. diff types of pitch texture
and colur and lights in field ..

2. MAKE diff texture, diff shades of green and even gray
pitch in asia and africa.

3. How about diff color of nets......

***********GAMEPLAY**************

1.Make it harder ......just like worldcup 2002.

u realize there are users who have to play

with computer all alone.

2. bring back all deffensive actions and headers likewc2002.

3. Deffence AI is awful....sidebacks never comes inside..check it out plz.

:read:4.How about timing the header.....make a power bar to indicate

the amount of spot jump a player will make.......blink a pointer

just before he is in perfect position to head and remove ....thus user missing the the timming will misshead...

5. Make two option in LOB button...pressing it a little will cause

low hard cross and pressing more will cause wide cross.

*********STYLE**********

1. GOOD players use out steps to control.......look at it.

***********CELEBRATION***********

 this is the area where u have to work............

Best thimg to me is let the user celebrate a goal as

diff button will indicate diff mode of celebration( shirt-off must )

Follow VIVA football on this issue.

***********CAMERA**********

1. changing camera Zoom and hieght.

2. There should a option to select whether usuer want close

or normal view after goal or fouls.........sometimes a closeup

makes the gap of reality and fantasy wider.....if u understand

what i mean.........

i think u can do the improvements easily......as u have done it

in the past......u just have to restore them.

BUT ****DO NOT REMOVE ANYTHING FROM FIFA2003******

thank you,
after playing winning eleven 6 and fifa 2002.
I found both games are more attracted me compare to FIFA 2003.
Why...? Because both games are easy to control and make tactical change. The FIFA 2003 is too forward into realistic but ignored game play. The through button in FIFA 2002 is good but in FIFA 2003 is sucks..

My wish for FIFA 2004 is dun use the through button system like FIFA 2003 again coz hard to pass the ball and need more time to kick off if wanna kick harder. I think EA sports should review konomi's winning eleven series.

Lastly, i wish more leauge and team and countries as well.
The campionship tournament is not interesting.

Kader........thanks for this forum...

I have gone through every pages and have some cool solutions

listed below......and the funny thing is to solve those u

just have recollect all the good stuffs from old FIAFA games and

restore them under one title ...say it be FIFA 2004.

:f***:1. Biggest mistake in 2003 is that u have made the game

easy......crosses reaching the players automaticly

and they score their own ....user have to do NOTHING.

 so BRING BACK the crossing model and volley-header
system done in WC2002.......remember u have to made the
game more difficult to play.

2. Formation is very static ....bring it back like FIFA2002.

3. Creation center with CD_pack.

4. 1-2 passes

5.zoom in-out /hieght change is a
 MUST.

:read: 6.User controlled celebration...by pressing diff buttons.

7. a knock and run type of sprint.....hit the ball every time
before run faster.....that will make control the ball
more difficult and realistic........

i think it will be enough to satisfy most customers.....

lastly here is simple equation 4 u...........

:lui: good stuffs from WC2002 + FIFA 2003 = FIFA 2004 +EA

O.K., guys, let's turn new page in suggestions. I suggest that we do not discuss about ANY FIFA game. Do not write any more something like: FIFA 2003 was a great game, but FIFA 2002 has better things in tactics, bla, bla....
NO MORE FIFA!!!!
Let's express new suggestions! New ideas! If we will make suggestions for this game, we must forget FIFA game, because FIFA is HISTORY!!!
I respect all ideas and suggestions, but you always compare it with other FIFA games. Let's forget FIFA, PES, ISS, any other game. EA is making new football game. Do you understand me? NEW!!! This game must be absolutely different than FIFA, ISS or PES!

10 bloody pages of request means there are obvious flaws in the game. ea wont read all ure wishes when they can improve one or two items and make twice as much money..................dont get me wrong u lot arent wasting ure time...........if i was a game producer i would only listen to what the magazines are complaining about and change those things...........i'm only going to advise on new elements that i think should be included in future versions of the game................

1. NEW DRIBBLING SYSTEM..the one there right now is good but a change wont hurt............lets be inventIve shall we. to give players a brilliant feel that they really are wayne rooney on the ball........ok i press R1 on the controller but no i dont juss want to press R1 and automatically run because this is next gen footie right............i want to run but keep control of the ball as well as push it forward so i have make sure i dont leave the ball behind by making sure i am pressing R1 and lined up with the ball, everytime i approach the ball i push it forward.......but.but.but....if i run slightly of when the ball is forward i totally run and leave the ball like an idiot. what does this mean? it means i must run and make sure i press R1 and meet the ball everytime if i want to push it forward. for example grand theft auto, i run but i must run behind the ball if i want to push it forward and keep control of it.......get it......SERIOUSLY THIS IS IMPORTANT EA. READ IT CAREFULLY.

2. HEADING SYSTEM.... every one has already complained.....needs working on enough said.

3. PLAYER RUNS....why the hell do players run away from the ball....and why the hell do players stand there waiting for the ball to come to them.........

4. TACKLING.......hahahaha its so off key......have u guys tried this is football 2003....no seriously play it........conservative tackles must be timed ..........dead serious........EA producers try it may suprise u.......i pressed o anyhow wit ferdinand and he tripped the player up resulting in a yellow card cuz i thought it would be like fifa. SERIOUSLY......RENT THAT GAME.

5. HANDBALLS...this is football again........shiiiii this is wierd........

6. INTROS... lie when they are in the tunnel and they come out from the tunnel......this is football again has this.........hhmmmnn

7. DIVISIONS...... Pro evo this is football again.........

8. MORE LEAGUES......examples argentinian and mexican and belgian......

9.TRAINING MODE....common why did u remove it......pro evo takes the mickey.they have bloody cones to dribble round. what!

all other bugs are minor......and all those dummy camera man and police men.......make em move...........as well as front row crowd make em 3D........if all this is fixed a greater but not perfect game.
u'll definitely make good money........money isn't the issue its results thats the issue..........job well done to make this 2003 game in 3 months......but thats not the point.its results remember that........i get irritated when they say pro evo.but i'm starting to see why.........

BlademanX

oh about the new dribbling system i realised this would be harder......it should only be available for WORLD CLASS LEVEL.

Yes, i've heard that EA is loosing FIFA license (i wrote it somewhere in this thread), but i think that it is impossible to happend couse EA will this year earn so much money (billions maby), so... i'm not sure in that. BUT, if they really loose FIFA license, they must make major, major improvements. If they don't, heh, well... disaster.
But, i trust guys in UK, and i believe that they will make wonderful job. Damn, people they invented football, didn't they. It's possible that they make revolution with that new footie game.

Here's my wishlist!! :P

Gameplay:

1. More diverse play by the CPU, passing & lobbing, through passes etc.

2. A special button for "nice finishing"

3. Change something in the freekick/penalty feature. Now it's only a targetbox and a slider red/green to simulate the accuracy of the player. Why not create TWO boxes, one that's (depending on the ability of the player) is very hard to handle and one that's easy to handle. With the easy one, you say I want it there (for instance top corner), the box that's hard to handle should be in the box as well. Do the same with penalty's!!

4. Referees make mistakes as well, so why not in the game?

5. There's no pitch that's completely flat. Make the ball bounce some more.

6. Headers should be done with the exact key as shooting or passing. (just as it is now) press D for a header at the goal. And S to head it to a teamplayer.

7. Maybe the possibility to make a 'schwalbe'.

8. Handball's

9. Why not be able to hold one's shirt??

10. Standard selection of players in the International team, but make it possible that a "virtual" coach invites good playing players in the national team.

11. Day / Evening / Night play

12. Summer / Fall / Winter play

13. Not all stadiums are allways filled. It depends on the league
position of the club and how you play.

14. Freestyle play should be like this. Press "left-right or right-left" really fast and you'll do a scissor move. "up-left-down-right" is Zidane's helicopter move etc. Create more simple combinations like this for special moves. So it's more fun to use them, instead of pressing the shift button.

Graphics:

1. Try to create smoother crowd animations.

2. Make the peepZz in the crowd a littlebit bigger. If it's possible in 3D!!

3. Mostly peepZz will wear jackets (so more dark colors in the crowd and only a few with a shirt).

4. Flare's are (most of the time) RED!!

5. Less flags in the crowd.

6. Create more sections in the crowd, so for instance a wave is possible. Now the crowd 1) moves 2) sits down and watches the match. There are also sections where the more fanatic supporters are, so make them wear more shirts and let more noise come from that side...

7. Create more cinematics. Or make us move the player when it scored, so the other players will run after him!! Also create some crowd cinematics. Make them jump when and use a flare when you've just score or make 'em go wild and get angry when you're losing at home.

8. Maybe it's possible to create more television logo's when camera is set at "broadcast".

9. Maybe the commentators can sit in a studio before the match begins. In the studio they'll say some things like "A.F.C Ajax is ranked 1 with only 1 point more than Roda JC. So they must win today to stay 1st in the league. Last week Ajax won from Vitesse with 0-2. Ajax opponent today is Willem II. They've won last week away at Feyenoord with 0-1 which was a very good result. Let's see what today 'll bring. It's almost time, so we're going live over to John Motson live in the Amsterdam ArenA.......

10. Stadiums closer to the pitch.

11. Make the goalnets more flexible. So when you score in the top corner, make it slide from left to right or something like that.

12. Make it possible to have different goalnets for each stadium. The goalnets in the Amsterdam ArenA are for instance, white, red, white.

13. Linesman flag. So make 'em flag when it's offside!

14. Create a bench where the other players are and the coach/manager.

15. Substitution must be a cinematic as well. Close in at the player that's waiting to come in, next to the 2nd official, checking the boots. Then zoom in at the other player that's clapping his hands when walking away. Then make the player cross his fingers are kiss the pitch when he comes in. Nice detail should be the crowd that's whistling to an awayteam player that's substituted....

Sound:

1. Various scoring sounds for each league.

2. Various "oeeeehhh" sounds when missing the target.

4. Sound of a ball hitting an adboard.

3. Crowd whistling when home team is behind and low in league.

4. Crowd whistling when oponents are in posession

5. In stadium music before the game has begun. (very soft when
still in the studio..... What about the stadiumspeaker to mumble someting and then the crowd yells. (creating a feeling that the starting eleven is being anounced)

6. When the oponents score, reduce the sound volume by 50%. I don't wanna hear "aaaaaaaah" when they score. It's unrealistic. When there's really no awayteam crowd, I only want to hear the players of the awayteam scream. And maybe some whistling by the hometeam supporters.

7. National Anthems before an international match (full anthems -
> mp3 or so, for a small filesize)

8. Make the home/away crowd get louder (of course the away crowd less) when you're playing good or bad. When you're leading by 5-0 make the away crowd real silent. The hometeam crowd should be really loud. Vice versa, make the hometeam crowd less loud when the awayteam leads with 0-2 or so. Make the hometeam crowd louder when you've just scored 1-2 in the 70th minute, so you've really got the idea the crowd is supporting you!!

9. Make the crowd yell when a player does a trick or makes a nice action.

GAME TESTING:

Make some of us BETA TEST the game and say what's good or not. We're going to play it. Think of that EA!!

That's it for now...... What do you guys think of my wishlist?

Well, your wishlist is ok, but why not put in damn game some rpg elements, like player's experience, potential, REAL fatigue etc?

Iggy
29-12-2002, 09:52:PM
O.K. here's my exact wishlist:

GAMEPLAY:

Make RPG elements, like i said:
- player's experience
- player's potential
- real fatigue
- their attributes should fall down after few bad matches
- their attributes should go up after few great matches
- players getting older, they will be more experienced, but their attributes like "speed" should fall down
- TRAINING and player's improvement on training. There should be specialized training for each segment: FITNESS (running, body building etc). DEFENCE (tackling, heading, aggressiveness etc), MIDFIELD (technique, passing, shooting etc), ATTACK (shooting, technique etc), PENALTY TRAINING, FREE KICKS TRAINING etc
- team should earn money

Other:
- real transfer system: if you want Francesco Totti in your squad, you will must first submit money offer to AS Roma. If they accept, then you will must offer a reasonable contract to Francesco Totti. Weekly wage, car, house etc. If he accept, after few months Totti will be in your squad
- referees should make mistakes
- shirt tackling
- air tackling
- handball
- when player is light injured, he should lay on the ground for little time, get up and then with hand marks choose for substitute
- when player is severally injured, he should stay laying on the ground, match will be stopped and emergency team will get on the ground. All that will be available in animations. You could end it in any time with button ESC.
- please NO MORE DAMN 62-38% BALL POSSESSION FOR MY TEAM ON WORLD CLASS DIFICULTY!!!!

WEATHER CONDITIONS:
RAIN:
- when is raining, field is wet, so ball control is more difficult
- players should fall down on wet field
- if field is wet, players should get tired more cause they must run better and control ball better than they can do in better weather conditions
- wet field, hard and not balanced tackles - more injuries

SNOW:
- when is snowing, ball control is more difficult
- players should fall down on snowy field.
- match could be cancelled cause heavy snow

HOT:
- players will run like always, but it's hot and they will be more tired

NORMAL
- it's normal:)

GRAPHICS:

- now is everything ok, but i know that EA will make it better, like always:)
- when is raining, field could look wet
- when is snowing, field should look snowy:)
- make crowd in 3D
etc

SOUND:

- i wanna hear what has player to say to referee
- please don't put chants like you thing that it should hear better. Why not? I don't wanna hear crowd singing: "HRVATSKA, HRVATSKA!" or "U BOJ, U BOJ ZA NAROD SVOJ" when i'm playing with for example Real Madrid.
- i wanna hear player screaming when he is severally injured

MOTION CAPTURE:

- EA did great job this time, but please get real football wizards like Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Rivaldo, and goalie like Oliver Kahn for your motion capture.

I want this new footie game from EA bugless.

What do you think about my wishlist, guys?

I'd like to have some management included in soccer games.
I don't mean something like you have to hire up staff and like, I mean something like this :
- First of all, you would have to do contracts with players...with some different choices like HOW MANY YEARS, HOW MUCH WAGE and other things like that. And computer would have to do contracts and business too.
- You'd get some money from wins and draws, and lose some money from losses. This is how you should take care of your budget. And because teams would have to pay some money to players after seasons and if they wouldn't have enough money they would have to sell players or take loans.
- Players' skills should get better or worse after season, depending on how much time they've got in field and how old they are. Youngsters could improve their skills more easily.
- Players would have HOT and COLD STREAKS. And players would get tired if they play too much, so you'd have to change starting eleven sometimes.
- And some other things like that... :mrpimp:

And of course I want some other things too. Like better AI, and worse graphics ( :) my cpu isn't the best possible).
And better tactics area. And many other things, some are what some of you have said and some aren't. But the most important thing is that EA's boys would make it much better!!! PERKELE! :f***:

RPG's? WTF! I think a lot of you are getting carried away with what you SHOULD expect from a FOOTBALL game. It's supposed to play football!

I don't know about you, but I'd rather play a football game then Final Fantasy.

I want EA to improve on what they HAVE now and add a training mode and creation centre, as well as a better transfer system which enables international call ups.

Think about it, THINK FOOTBALL, not: "ohhhhhh, RPG, that'd be cool, I'll write that down"! :kader:

True, it'd be a very 'cool' experience, but you'll never get that, it's pointless writing it down, we might as well request: "Can you put in Osama Bin Laden's head as the football"? :)

1. Make a TRUE ball's phisics. like in the real life. like in PES! without sticky ball... etc.

2. Make a crossing system like TECMO World Soccer/PES with a cross in the pitch indicating the local where the ball is falling... the player go to the ball, not the ball to the player! yeah listen tho this! (sorry my baD crapping english)

3. Make the MOST REALISTIC FOOTBALL GAME EVER. leave the graphics away and do the better football game ever please!

Whoa, man. Ball physics in FIFA 2003 is perfect, and ball is not sticking to a player's feet. Now player is one thing, and ball is the other. Have u played FIFA 2003?;)

In fifa 2000, EA had put classic teams such like Arsenal 71', Liverpool 77' ...but all you could do with them was to play friendly games. What I am dreaming about is to be able to play with fifa 2004 a whole "classic" season, for instance the English Premier league 70-71, 89-90...Some classic games with shorts, tactics and balls of those times...

******THINKS NOT TO CHANGE******

1.Dribbling..........the Dummy/body feint.........is the BEST:rockman:

thing in 2003.......so dont even thing to change it.

2.every thing else the header.

******THINKS TO CHANGE******

1.MISS PASS & MISS CONTROL :

we should have more of it for average players....everyone seems to Zidane in 2003.

2.celebration in in-game.......no CLOSE Up.plz....or make it optional.......

3.NO HANDBALL.

4.Players lining up before game.....and coach,reporters.etc

running on to pitch after game....that would not be
to hard ..but will make much realistic.

5. :read: How about showing some anger( by pressing button) to the
player who have fouled him...........that would be great........AND

dont tell me about fairplay on this........

6. DO something that the user could actually time his header or volly to the crosses........not just pressing button and wait the ball to come......

:Bow:7.Dont let the cpu controlled shots as default.....let there be an option.....that user could target the shoot at his will...what i mean he have to set his aim even one feet away from goal.....and the direction of his face will be his shoot direction.....

Actua soccer has done it succesfully a loooong time agooooooo!

8.Bring back offside button.

9.Make an option avilable pressing wich side backs will come inside..........its very important.

THNKS....i thing these are very simple changes.........but will
certainly have a big impression.

EA need to make a MUCH more solid game to play, which takes much more time to master and though still easy to play, hard to beat on the first difficulty level.

EA need to make the gamers' keep playing. The only way I can think of is to make it just as playable, but much harder to beat the A.I, yet keeping the fun and passion of the game flowing through.

The best ways I can think making it harder, is to make the shooting harder to direct and find the top corners and make it harder to get the shot in on goal and to get past the defeners and break through them. I can go into SOOO much depth on this, SOOOO damn much, but I've said my bits in other posts of this thread and I can GUARANTEE if EA did it, the game would do MUCH better! :rockman:

EA always find ways to make the game good, but always end up putting in ways to make it bad (I don't think they mean to make it bad, obviously, but they seem to be just as good at that as making the game good)!

the players should shoot more often with their favourite foot.generally,EA should pay more attention which foot should be used in freekicks or corners, for example it is unbelievably that a famous striker as recoba shoots with the right instead of the left foot!!!

EA shouldn't test the game for about 2 weeks or so, they should play it, see how difficult and how far they've progressed and make it 4 times as difficult, or atleast twice as difficult and then balance it out, but keeping the difficulty and playable gameplay. This was we'll be on 1 difficulty mode much longer, meaning we'll be playing for much longer!! :rockman:

Hopefully they'll make the game much harder, especially winning tackles and beating defenders + aiming shots and directing them at goal!

Well, we all know it, it's natural thing, but, we also know that EA didn't test their games enough, or they r just stupid... Best thing which EA could do, when they make Beta version of their new football game is to put that Beta game on their computers in couple countries and let gamers test it. That would be great, but i don't think that they will do that...
All we could do is wait.

Definitely mate and also un-scripted penalties. I’d like the penalty system to be like the freekick one, but where the cursor does not appear on the screen, so that you have to guess, or maybe have pointer for striker and keeper dive like in ISS2, that’s great!

I think that if EA concentrate on the gameplay they have now, I think the game will be very, very good.

I'm sure that you all agree that if you had a choice between FIFA 2002 and FIFA 2003, that FIFA 2003 would come out on top, no doubt, so FIFA 2003 must be the way we all prefer FIFA to play.

So if EA keep the way it plays and improve and add upon it and don't start taking away things that the fans enjoy, then we'll be in for a treat.

Otherwise, it could be one big cycle where we get a game like FIFA RTWC98, then, well...you know!! :(

Yes, what the ball needs to do is, when the shot is taken and hits the net, the net animation should depend on the balls force and gravitational pull. So a shot very powerful would send the net far back, the ball would drop and the net would start to move, waving and going back to its 'un-stretched' form.

FIFA 2003 basically uses no REAL net animation, but hey...atlest the nets move! :crazyboy: BARELY! :kader:

KEEP THE GAMEPLAY!

That had to be said.

KEEP freekick system its great just make it the same everywhere. On corner kicks, from far away etc.
I want to have a chance to score directly from the corner(did it in real life).
Plus bring back the system of different set play routines where you can set the players to make runs before you take the kick.

Bring back the ability to control your player during the set pieces. He just freezes right now.

KEEP Freestyle contol!

KEEP all data like stadia, faces, signature moves.

Make more player attributes("long pass", "short pass", "accuracy", "power", "right foot", "left foot") and make them out of 20 points. That would give more realism to the play- as Beckham would have 19 for "long passes" and "accuracy" , 10 for "dribbling" and 12 for "short pass"- you would tend to make long precise passes with him ahead of dribbling.

KEEP kit selection process but revert to the menue styles of previous FIFA's.

Cut Back on the cut scenes, - well keep personalized celebrations but make them look like in game parts same camera, zoom and look. Make an option to have automatic celebrations or our own through button combinations.

Training Mode -Please!!!!!!!

Get Champions League license.

Make rest of the world the rest of the world(Europe only) and not 11 Israeli teams.

And my own personal put Dynamo Kyiv back in the game Please.

using this button user can pass a great pass to its team mate

without even knowing his position....!!!!!!!

EA do u think its great ??........might be for kids.......

and i am sure kids not only buy this game........

What about the users who want greater challenge in the game

........and i dont think they will like the unnecessary assistance

from computer...............:f***:

so BEST u can in fifa2004 is.............

1.Bring back the "Power Bar" in smart pass button.....so that

user could deliver some wieght behind the pass.......not that

damm cpu does for him....

2.Let ther be an option............

smart pass button <auto detect / user controlled >

I think it will be great.............for both types of user.....

Well, the game WILL get easier the more you play, cause you get better! But yes, the fact is that it doesn't take long at all for ALL OF US OLDER GAMERS to start getting MASSIVE amounts of possession, but the way THE GAME plays right now, is the way I like it, you know, the ball not sticking to the feet, better tactical play by A.I, stuff like that and EA NEED to make sure they stick to it and make it better/harder, HARDER is good EA!!!!

What FIFA needs is LOADS of playability, BUT STAYING TO THE WORLD OF FOOTBALL, so NO rocket balls in fire, not stupidly super fast shots and juggling the ball up in play (you'd get booked in real lxife for time wasting). If EA want to keep the fundamentals of football, then why isn't curling in there, is that something that only a far fetched football game would do? So, if I can curl the ball in real life, if keepers' can get injured/foul/booked/sent off in real life then why not in FIFA?

I say, if it can be done in real life, then put it in FIFA!!

If I can run and header the ball at the same time and header the ball when not marked, then why not in FIFA?

I'd like (please) the power bar to be a lot harder to judge and to have it so shots are harder to judge, so I need longer to learn, MUCH longer, especially if I want to get top corners and score really FLASHY goals. I want it so that it's aimed at an older audience. Though football in reality can be played by anyone, anywhere, any age, I don't think a football game should be aimed at younger audiences, as this means older players' will find it much easier if younger players' have been kept in mind when developing the game.

It might sound a little mean, but think about it. If the game is set for younger audiences EVEN young people who can even get to World Class mode, then what about us older lot? FIFA 2003 is easy!!!

I'm sure many others will agree that to play the game nearly every day for about 2 months and to master it is just wrong and by the time the next FIFA is announced we'll all be bored with the last one and be masters!!

I want to be playing the game for AGES, finding every game on World Class a GREAT challenge, I'm sure many people agree, even they don't, it's something nice to be on a lower difficulty to KNOW that the next one is much harder = playing for longer!

What's the point in Amateur mode? It's out of this EASY! The players' don't even sprint it ISN'T REALISTIC! Even if it's amateur mode, even if teams go easy on you, they should at least TRY and beat the player! Has anyone played UEFA Champions League 01/02? Check of Novice level, it's like Professional level on FIFA 2003! GREAT DIFFICULTY! JUST RIGHT FOR US OLDER GAMERS!

I know that some older gamers might have never played FIFA before, so this difficulty thing might be really hard, but hey, WE'RE NOT FISH WITH 2 SECOND MEMORIE'S, WE DO LEARN YOU KNOW!

Even children learn, if a child can learn to walk, talk, count and do everything that an adult can do (the basics stuff, not rocket science, lol) then I'm sure they can take much longer to learn a GAME! If it's enjoyable then who gives a damn? I certainly won't, cause I'll be getting my money's worth!!

Oh and the pitch MUST be bigger and it must be harder to beat defenders, if you do that, it’ll be great! Just try and wipe out as MANY BUGS AS POSSIBLE PLEASE! ;)

I hope you read this EA. :)

Who agrees?

Thanks fellas',

The atmospere in FIFA 2003 is already good. But there could be more "gimmicks" around the playground. When a player gets hurt there should be the men who carry him out when he´s hurt badly. Or there should be moving cameras-cars like in NFL 2003.
There should be also the player-change-animation again, they were thrown out without any reason.
There should be different physical constitutions of the players.
There should be guys build like van der Sar (he is really thin) or Ailton from Werder Bremen (he looks like a big sausage ;-)).
This option is already in NFL 2003, too.
And there should be the attribute "shot-power" taken back into the game.
Generally there should be more attributes included into the game again. So it would be possible to "characterize" the players better.
More tactical options have to be included!!! The possibility to sign out wingers got lost!!!

The more we have at the key moments, the more it feels like the camera men are paying attention and it REALLY adds to the authenity and also like you're not watching the same game over and over, lol. :crazyboy:

It's not the fact of having no power bar for normal passes, but because the A.I doesn't close the player down good enough and for the fact that it is to easy to pass the ball around, as the players' aren't marked good enough. The player is indeed, given to many choices of where to pass and the A.I doesn't know/hasn't been programmed to be very clever with keeping/gaining possession of the ball, even on World Class.

If there was a power bar, then yep, Like FIFA 2002 and 2002 FIFA World Cup, you'd find it hard to gain/keep possession and get large amounts of it, but look at PES2, that has a very similar passing system to FIFA 2003 and the other/older FIFA games and look at how hard it is to pass the ball around. I think Iggy said something along these line and apologise if I'm repeating his words, but hey, PES2 really is very hard, but it might not BE the fact of passing the ball around and getting it easy for the gamer, but:

* The pitch is bigger then in FIFA 2003, so it takes longer to build up play, giving the A.I time to mark up and close down you, the player! :rockman:

* The A.I uses the skills that the player has open to them, unlike FIFA 2003 and past FIFA's where the player gets LOADS of skill moves, but the A.I only uses two of them!

* The A.I REEEEAAAALY tries to score and KEEP possession, in FIFA 2003, the A.I just goes for the sh*tty, quick goals, which aren't very great for keeping possession, though as a tactic, this is great, but to NEVER keep possession through-out in-game play and to not try and keep the ball and REALLY make the player work to get it back, SUCKS! :kader:

That's why I think FIFA 2003 is easy and I don't think it's as much to do with the auto pass as what it may seem, but the retarded A.I!! :)

How about new running animations, which can be linked to fouling. For example:

If I run to the player with the ball and SPRINT, then I could actually knock him over and foul him, WITHOUT pressing any tackle buttons, as it will be because I ran straight at him! If he was a stronger player, then maybe something different could happen, like he'd stumble, or just get away!!

I think this would add to the realism. :)

Also, how about making it so loads of goals are possible to score, but the really great/complex ones are harder to do! :)

I also have an idea about the fouling system. I mentioned before about double bookings. I now feel this could be achieved at it's most powerful strength of tactical play and sports man ship from the players'. For example:

If one play fouls another and that player is going to be booked, the player fouled could press a button to start arguing with the referee and a bar will appear on the bottom of the screen, the more you argue the more chance the bar will increase (holding down the button), meaning you've got a chance of being booked, but it could depend on the referee strictness and the referee. So there could be a chance that the referee won't do anything. This would increase the realism a lot. This would result in a double booking if the bar goes to its max!

Also, what if the player that committed the foul wasn't going to be booked and the player that got fouled argued, this could result in the player fouled been booked! The players' team that was fouled would be rewaded the freekick though (I think).

And I always thought that the more animations and the more solid they are (no players' going through each other in-play/cinematics) then the more realistic the game would become! :D

The player is indeed, given to many choices of where to pass and the A.I doesn't know/hasn't been programmed to be very clever with keeping/gaining possession of the ball, even on World Class.

i'm in general agreement here. however, i think the possession play is pretty realistic--a good team can keep possession with one-touch passes and the players move to space, pass back, etc. the aspect of the AI that needs a complete overhaul is the way players leave huge holes in the back to chase down the ball or even a player to mark. it happens for both the CPU and player teams. and you are right about the way defenders play WAY off the ball for no apparent reason at critical moments, leaving tons of space to turn and shoot unopposed at the goal. not at all realistic.

i would also like to see tighter marking and more 50-50 challenges that result in random deflections and loss of possession. sometimes a pass will ricochet off a player at about five times the original force but crunching tackles send the ball rolling a couple meters at most. EA should tighten up the marking, especially in the final third, and allow for a lot more scrambling and disruptive tackles.

i agree about the CPU keeping possession and attempting better build up. i tweaked some of the ini files to encourage more passing and i've seen an improvement, but it still seems like i concede some pretty cheap goals.
