Well, you got to gve it to Newcastle: down 1 man since the 5th minute and even after being down by 3 goals, they neve quit! I really loved their attitude, but facts are facts, and Inter is the better side.
I know it's frustrating to attack the whole game and create great chances and then see the other team have just a couple of them and score; that's what happened when Inter faced Sporting Lisbon on the CL qualifying stages, but that's why they're the better side...

This was the first time I saw Newcastle play with Viana, and why is he playing on the left? He's good at the midfield position; he has no skills to play on the left! I hope he doesn't get burned for playing in a place that isn't obviously his.:(

I wouldn't say they were the better side. They were the side whose tactics worked out perfectly. 10 men bhind the ball and a deadly scorer up fron who finishes on the counter attack. Typical Italian but it works so credits to them. Newcastle was the more entertaining side, but in the end that doesn't get you trough to the next round....

Alright Inter!! Great, great goals...what a world class move by Dalmat to set up the final goal by El Chino, Recoba. Inter AND Arsenal are both kicking a** in Champions League...it doesn't get any better than that for me!

I admire the way that Newcastle didn't give up even after how things went to pieces so early in the game. I think the ref in that game was a disgrace as he booked Crespo for hand ball when he used his shoulder and even if it was a foul it shouldnt have been a yellow card offence. What annoys me even more is that straight after that Cannavaro pushed Shearer and got nothing even though it was a deliberate push and Cannavaro was already on a yellow. Shearer had suffered being fouled 11 times (7 of those came from Cannavaro). It was a tough game for him but he and Newcastle kept on fighting. I wonder if Bellamy will be dropped for league games????

I don't see why people are saying Inter are boring, they scored the most goals in the UCL this week and produced a fine match.

Valencia also drew with Ajax today (1-1) and if Inter can beat Ajax away from home (as well as at home), do you think they could beat Valencia?

Materazzi fouled bellamy about 4 times before Craig clipped his heals. i think bellamy did more than just clip his heals. for me that was a red card. but i think inter had some plan to provoke bellamy into doing something stupid and they succeeded. bellamy got to be more smart in future.like he has to learn the thing called controlled aggression.;)
